Crater Lakes-All Three-James Peak Wilderness-Colorado-Day Hiking

On October 26, 2023 we hiked to all three Crater Lakes in the James Peak Wilderness. This is a very popular area for day hikers and backpackers. No permit is required and you can bring your leashed dog on the trails with you. This area will be crowded on the weekends in the summer months. You must arrive early to snag a parking spot. Alltrails can give you directions. We were the only people on this day to hike to these three beautiful alpine lakes. 7.75 miles and 1800 feet of elevation gain.
