Thanks for the video. As a Hakka I am always amazed at the numerous variations of spoken Hakka. My ancestors were from Baoan, Guangdong. My grandpa then followed his uncle to British North Borneo in 1914. I am of the 黎 family.
That’s a long way across the whole world! and sounds like the stories I heard about Hakka people!😁
Thank you for sharing this well researched video! My grandfather’s ancestral home is in a small village near Zhencheng, Guangdong. I was blessed to have visited my grandpa’s village four years ago during Zhongyang Jie in the midst of Covid in Oct 2020. Your video is very information for those of us who were so-called “English-educated” before Malaya got her independence from the British. Blessings to everyone watching this video. 🤲🙏
Hakka came from southern Jiangxi. I am a Singaporean and my parents came from northern Jiangxi, my mother tongue is close to the Yang Tze dialects such as Hunan, Hubei & Sezhuan. Although I cannot speak Hakka I can understand most Hakka language. My mother tongue is close to Hakka.
Proud to be a Hakka🎉
Thank you for sharing this video! Please keep them coming! I just subscribed and will share it with my family around the world!🫡from Hakka Meiyan🇨🇦🇭🇰🇨🇳Tse from HK (Xie in China)
Thank you Tse! glad that you enjoyed the video and all the best to you and your family!
My ancestors are Hakka, and my great grandfather eventually settled in Kuching, Sarawak, after his father died in the ill fated French attempt to cut a canal in Panama.
Thanks for sharing your story! I am sure they were hard working people!
I am Hakka from Panama...
Most of us in Kuching, Sarawak are the descendants of Hakkas from Lang Fang Republic of West Kalimantan, Indonesia about more than 200 years ago.
Thanks for sharing!
My grandparents are from Dongguan in Shenzhen. We are Syn Onn hakkas.
Your video is cool and clear. Nicely done. Well-done.
Cheers!
Hakka blood here! Sadly, my family will lose Hakka family members in another 30-50 years.
Why?
PROUD TO BE HAKKA..ancestors from guangdon province..
Hakka from Malaysia.
While I’m half Thai and Hakka(Chinese), I was born and raised in Thailand. The only word I know is Soy-mook that means sleep.
🙏✌️👍
Hakka from Mauritius/Máolǐqiúsī 🇲🇺
Who are the Cantonese people? Same question.
Why don't we say, "We are all Chinese". Due to the lack of transportation to mix in the old days, each small area developed its own habits, food, etc. That made us all "different".
Ancestors from Guangdong (Cantón) of the Chen/Chang family. May be Hakka or may not. One Venezuelan citizen.
Thanks for sharing! All the best to you and your family from Shanghai!
why you not on hakkha voice ..
