      @@r.h.1750 yeah so, how does that change the past 2 years. Stop it, he has a star studded team with one of the highest scoring lines with Rantenan last year hitting 55+ goals and McKinnon this year close to leading all of the NHL.
      He failed to adjust, you don't go in with a star studded team and lose three home games. You only do that if you CANNOT match the other teams adjustments. Go look at the SOG from last night, you see how even they are, how do you not outshoot your opponent, because, the other team has figured out how to control your top line - then adjust, and Bedumb did NOOOOT adjust. Simple.
      He was seriously exposed and has been against deeper teams, and lets remember the 3 years they lost to the VGK prior to 2022.

      While I like him, especially his demeanor and as a person. However, he has to take some blame, no? It feels like there have been a lot of series that they should have won but eventually lost. That year they had Presidents trophy where they lost 4 in a row to the same Dallas I believe. Then they have losses to Vegas, Minn, etc. Those playoffs losses seem like some adjustments could have been made but werent.
      I dont blame him for last year. However, this year, there have been lack of attention to detail, lack of focus, dumb penalties, undisciplined play, turnovers on D. What about game 2 and 4 where they didnt show up? I mean, seriously, the team didnt show up to play and were flat. Isnt there some blame on the coach? I think there should be some reflection on the coaching staff. They can and should improve motivating this team.

    Avs played hard. But when their speed was at a crawl after 2OT's in game 6, the bigger, bruising, balanced team will come out victorious. That's why bigger, deeper, grittier teams win year after year. They can inflict their will. After the grind of the tournament your legs are not going to hold out so overly offensive and small team, like the constructed Avs, aren't going to cut it. I thought MacFarland got the memo but apparently not. Can't wait for them to be even smaller next year and probably repeat this [heavy eye roll].

  • @cobrachannel100
    @cobrachannel100 Před měsícem

    OT was under siege. I knew it was a matter of time and it happened. It was one of those games where they couldnt score. There were a few like these during the season: Blue Jackets, Montreal, Rangers. They cant win those 2-1, 1-0, type of games.
    They did show effort and heart game 6. The reason they lost was lack of scoring other than top line this round from the talent perspective. However, Avs wasted game 2 and game 4 due to not coming out sharp. They lacked execution, attention to detail, took dumb penalties, etc. Mikko, Mac, Makar all were bad in those games. So 2 games that they dont show up for is then tough to win a series.

At the end of the day you have to get pucks to the net and I though after Mikkos goal we totally took our foot off the gas. How does Dallas out shot you on home ice? In fact, we haven't won on home ice this series despite having the best home record in the regular season. It comes down to this. After Game 1 Dallas adapted to MacKinnon and Makar and The Avs failed to make adjustments. In fact I could argue no adjustments were made. I considered this to be a spectacular regular season performance followed by an incredible Round 1 against the Jets and an abysmal Round 2. The only silver lining through all of this is Georgie is spectacular and we have a few incredible individuals like Drouin and Lekky who always showed up. We need some serious help to stay a Cup contender. First, bye bye Val and get more 3rd line depth.

It was a god-awful easy strategy by the Stars, keep the Av's top line on the boards, eliminate east/west passing, cause the Av's to expend as much energy as possible, and unite a youth line with Johnston, Robertson and Stankhoven in the third, geezus he was just standing there watching the third period, he was absolutely a fish out of water, he does not know how to coach against deeper teams, he got exposed last year, and this year was so much more easy to see he is deeply inexperienced when it comes to competing against deeper teams. Are u serious?!?!?!?? Like I know I live my life in a fantasy world but I still have rational thoughts. We lose and ur first thought is firing bednar? Who brought the Avs from rock bottom to sustained success, a cup and then gets wrecked by injuries and off ice issues? The first three losing in second round was growing pains for young core players, then they grew up and won. Then got dealt 2 shitty hands and still made the playoffs and still have great seasons?!? Like there are prob 25 other teams u should be asking this question for.

      I mean, the team is always in there, but it's hard to win this league. There could be a conversation about changing coaching, but realistically, he's done everything to get this team to a place where they could win it. Look at how many times the Stars have gone far but didn't win. It's a difficult mountain to climb.

    Bednar absolutely got out coached in a serious way. Wow, he was just badly exposed. How could you not see what was going on. DeBoer turtled periods 1 and 2 focusing on keeping the Av's to the outside, man, and in the third period changed his lines into a Youth line and you could see how badly the energy level was from the start of the third period for the Avs. Absolutely SCHOOLED on coaching. Bedlum, I mean Bednar, never adjusted, just screaming at the freaking TV...Stars have been doing this since game 2, lock down defensively, bring energy to the third. How do you lose 3 games at home when YOU have the advantage of line choices, you know how, with HORRID coaching.
    Avalanche have badly underperformed these past two seasons. They have had all the talent in the world, but they are just not getting up to the level they need to be to compete with the deeper teams.
    Bad decisions: No backup goalie, Byrum trade was bad, Girard in NHL Players Assistance, Nichunumscle now has impacted this team for 2 years, I'd cut this guy right now, Landy - either he can play or he can't, move on and stop coddling him, player health - this team has not played together with out lengthy injuries to the core, what is going on with this teams injury problems. losing games to rebuilding teams, seriously, montreal, SJ and Columbus, geezus...
    So disgusted with this team, from top to bottom, they need to sit in the stinky stuff and smell it a little because this product is so underperforming and getting out coached in serious ways. Chris Mcfarland is not making good decisions. This team needs a gut check and if I haven't said it before, Bednar got out coached and abused in this series.
