The anti-theft upgrade does NOT work, and the little sticker-decals on the windows are a joke! Our car was destroyed. It should be MANDATORY for car dealers to DISCLOSE the lack of immobilizer on Hyundais and Kias to customers and buyers, otherwise they should be sued for non-disclosure, and for putting people's lives at risk. Hyundai/Kia need to be held responsible, and accountable, and all those cars should be recalled. DON'T BUY ANY HYUNDAIs or KIAs.
This just happened to my car, I got the upgrade last year, it did work because they didn't take my car. The vehicle shutdown and would not start, which if it doesn't detect a key, it will do this.. Maybe there are defects for certain models ...however, I am thinking to buy a different car.. It is always something especially when I was literally one payment away to pay my car off. Be careful out there.

They will 100% just saw through your stealing wheel, it is a deterrent and that’s all. I’m ordering a yellow boot to put on my front tire along with a steering club.
They said and claim that it’s ✌🏻”Software Update on Anti-Thefts works”✌🏻 that doesn’t provide anything still unsolved thefts still can start up with USB. Hyundai/KIA, failed the knowledge how did their vehicle keeps breaking in.
Today 12-24-2023 my gf 2020 Kia soul was stolen. It’s been had the anti theft update plus the kia access doesn’t exist on this vehicle even though the dealer said we could track it. Kia is full of💩
2/14/2024 Mines was broken into and they attempted to steal it. Ripped apart entire ignition fob/wheel column. Snapped the keyfob cause car will not detect my key when put in.
Stupid software. Don't buy kia and Hyundai. We have a hyundai and it doesn't have an immobilizer and i felt that it will be just a matter of time before it gets stolen. It has a steering wheel lock

Plus Kia designed these cars so poorly they've made thieves out of anyone willing to watch a short video on CZcams. Like the other guy said: DON'T BUY KIAS. Today they recalled 91,000 cars because they will spontaneity combust!

I just saw a video on CZcams of Kia boys stealing a car after the update!
Don’t buy Kia or Hyundai.. period .. I run a roadside/ towing company and I’ve seen this about 6 times within the last 10 months or so

Gee, that's tough--buy an American car--they developed and have been using the immobilizer system since the late 1970's.
