  • There are a number of secret private collections in South Florida. These collections are usually only open to the close friends and family of those collectors. Car Show Television got the chance to see one of the finest of these collections and share it with our viewers. From Duesenbergs to Ferrari's, this collection is amazing. Curator of this magnificent collection Ken Baker gave us the grand tour, and swore us to secrecy on the location of the collection and who the owner is.

    These beautiful cars are an investment not just a hobby, the owner is a businessman and these are great business assets to have. The green Doozy and white Rolls are pretty unique and my favorites from the show, hopefully I'll get to see them at Amelia Island or some other classic car show one day.

I can't watch any more, if I turn the sound down to lose the music, I also lose the narrators voice, idiotic, this vid is supposed to show the beautiful car collection. Please note that this collection IS NOT owned by a drug dealer. The owner was in that other great business, real estate. The cars do come out for Concour events around the country and are shared with the public on a limited bases. The primary reason why the collection is kept secret is the value and security of this value. This isn't uncommon for collectors with this kind of collection. The reality is that without collectors like this, most of the cars like this wouldn't exist anymore at this level even in a museum. The cost to restore and maintain cars like this is beyond what most individuals would be able to afford. They really are works of art.

    Absolutely stunning collection of "Icons of Elegance" in a very nice setting, many museums today seem obsessed with clinical white walls in stead of something more retro as these bricks. These cars were the kings on wheels of the roaring twenties, but in 1929, the soap bubble of Wall Street exploded, and several of these companies started to go down or disappeared completely. By the way, does the collection has a Minerva, which was Belgium"s equivalent to the Rolls Royce ? Good choice of music, but unfortunately, the mix with the very interesting and clearly passionated curator should be redone, because sometimes he's hardly understandable.

    It's a very nice museum, and a very nice collection. The owner should open it up to the public. It makes no sense to go to all that expense and not show it off.
    I doubt that keeping the owner's name and the location secret is much security. People don't make and spend that kind of money without leaving tracks. I bet if someone asked around in the real estate business in South Florida they could easily identify the most successful agents, and also the most likely properties for housing "secret" automotive museums.

  • @ScottHillsmusclecargarage
    @ScottHillsmusclecargarage Před 10 lety +1

    It really bothers me. When people have "private collections." No one cars were built to be driven. And not sitting in some building, only to be seen by a select few. At least open the doors occasionally to share the collection. I have a very small collection of cars that are completely restored except for one that is being built. And I do everything I can to bring in younger kids to the hobby. It's gotten to the point where you can buy 1932 Ford roadster's for half their value. The interest in old hot rods has dropped significantly. When you talk to anybody under 30 years old. You might 1% of the people that are interested or would like to have one in the future. If that trend keeps going in that direction. Huge sections of the car hobby will become obsolete. And great cars will just fade away. And that is really sad.

    • @dlwatib
      @dlwatib Před 9 lety +1

      I agree. He should have said, you move the lever to the gear you want, *then* step on the clutch, and the shift takes place. This type of shifter was fairly popular in Europe, but not in the US. For Cord, it was essential, because the transaxle was in front of the engine, not under the floorboards of the passenger compartment. There was no way to run a mechanical shifter lever to it. They had to work out a remote control system of some kind.

    If the owner of this collection has enough money to collect this many unnecessary vehicles then they should be just as well known for helping the homeless, destitute, unfortunate, needy, disabled, poor, despaired, etc. Now that would be a great TV show. I am well off myself and I simply can not stand by and do something like this especially flaunt it on TV while people around me suffer and die everyday without help, food, medical care, and a friend that cares.
    I get out there and use my wealth and time as it was meant to be used...To help people in need NOT to collect and house things that do nothing for the people around me. Let me know where I can catch the show that this collection owner is on for setting up charities, giving to the needy, and helping the less fortunate.

Charity is one thing if it's for a good cause, but the homeless, destitute, and unfortunate need to get jobs. Giving something to people, that they didn't earn, weakens them.Next time engage your brain before you click the CZcams icon. Rich people don't owe a damn thing to poor people. You may not like that statement, but it's reality.

    • @dannygroom3327

      @@chrispappas3750 Oh man the hypocrisy in describing a previous comment as a senseless rant, only to go on with a clichéd opinion of the homeless and destitute. But you also suggest the "unfortunate" are undeserving of any aid. What about the wealthy who didn't earn but were given, and whose to say what any rich may owe to any poor? I do suggest it's you that puts your noggin into gear before coming out with any more paradoxical rants.
