I think in an old episode (I am not 100% sure about this because I watched avatar a very long time ago and have yet to watch the legend of Korra.) they showed toph being able to see, just without details. So everything is just a bunch of shapes to her, but it disappears if it doesn’t have vibrations.

I forgot that toph had such a sad life before the gaang. The fact that she was polished to be a perfect daughter, plus how her parents didnt see her potential in things like being independent, and hid her existence by isolating her from the outside, its alot. Her and mai have that in common tbh. They both were born in high class families, brought up to be good daughters and controlled or told to follow a certain image and rules. I loved that mai and toph came out with different personalities yet still are logical,blunt and laid back.

The only thing he didn't mention about Toph is that she also at some point after creating metalbending (I believe), she learned how to sandbend and that is what truly made her the greatest earth bender as she learned to earthbend from the original earthbenders, created metalbending and learned to sandbender all while blind from birth... impressive doesn't even come close to covering how amazing Toph is and that's why they only made her lose twice in her lifetime...they had to make her human somehow.🤷🏾♂️

I think in the moments where Toph 'fell short', like when struggling to hold the bridge, or when she started to lose against that earth bending girl... I think it was more of an emotional strain, and not her inability to actually do it, or defeat that girl.
She beat Yaling from what I remember - she basically just fell on purpose to let Sokka take Yaling out.
She was going easy the whole fight anyway like "Rather not bring the whole factory down to win the fight)

If I am correct, there are only five characters in the Avatar Universe with a surname: Beifong, Sato, Keum (Wonyeung Keum, an entrepreneur from the comics), Varrick (his full name is Iknik Blackstone Varrick) and Moon (Zhu Li Moon) :-D
Toph is a monster in the series. Creator of metal bending, swamp bending, reading people's heartbeats to tell if they are lying, watching the world from the world tree and she could fight King Bumi at a standstill when she was barely a teen. All of these are achieved purely through talent, and she barely had to work for it. She's definitely the top 5 strongest benders in the series.
also it's well established that she /did/ have to work for it, similar to how it's easier to teach a child languages than an adult she learnt earth bending in it's purest form from the original teachers.
furthermore her being Blind is established as a large part of the source of her power because she has such a strongly developed connection with the earth compared to other earthbenders.

In the legend of korra one of the things I hate is how Toph, Zuko, and Katara never meet eachother again, we also never get to know what happened to characters like
Suki, the other kiyoshi warriors, Ty Lee, Mai, Mais Mom and Brother, Ty lees sisters, The southern water tribe women and children, the one prison guard that was nice to iroh, etc. Like we dont even know if they are dead yet or not, I kinda wanna make a fan avatar who would be after Korra so they would be a Earth Bender, might even make them like tophs great grandchild.

She wasn't introduced by the creator Michael Dimartino and Bryan Kionezko, she was introduced by head writer Aaron Ehasz. Ehasz pitched an idea of a little girl who is an earthbender who is able to defeat adult earthbenders. But it was rejected by Kionezko after a long discussion Kionezko finally accepted the idea and it became one of his new favorite character.

Yakeeastern Korra may be stupid but she understood why Tenzin told her about unbending her spirit, since she’s no longer attached to Aang anymore.
Korra can fight because she’s free from her past lives with the Avatar including Aang. She was able to do the out of body experience, which is called astral (spiritual) projection. Actually it was cool seeing her spirit fighting the enemy.
Yakeeastern Not gonna lie but in the last air bender Aang was able to to do astral projection as well, but he has to unbend his spirit. Korra has to be in deep meditation like she’s in deep sleep.
Meditation can help make you feel sleepy, and before bed you’ll notice you’re in deep sleep. Because meditation can also make you sleepy as well.
Jinora was able to do spiritual projection. Because she had to do deep meditation meaning that she has to fall asleep.

I love everything about these shows and comics. They’re so mature but made for kids. They tell stories that all have some form of a lesson. It’s just so pure.
Same, I grew up on these and absolutely loved them and of course I still do to this day. Also one aspect of these series that I absolutely adore is that the writers didn't violently push any kind of moral edification onto the viewer like it's likely done nowdays and instead let us form our own opinion while growing and developing along with the characters, that's realy something you don't see a lot.
