That’s ridiculous! I had no clue that an accessible Van is so dang expensive! While I can transfer on my own, I’m so so so scared that my chair will be damaged on a flight ✈️. I’d be so angry 😤 that I’d DEMAND that they paid for a new one AND compensation for the emotional distress! I can’t get married right now either because of disability funding. It’s super duper stupid!!!! It took 6 months post amputation to get a wheelchair that fits in the doorways of our house. THAT made me sooooooo angry! 😤
Kenneth, Have you looked into grant programs for getting a van or subsidizing rentals? Your local office of the State Department of Vocational and Rehab might know about some.
