      @@jeffreybrooks8643 Why on Earth would they rid themselves of the most reliable source of post-ISP revenue? Do you know how Lee Iacocca saved Chrysler? He made it so things like transmission fluid were proprietary to Chrysler vehicles, so you'd need to either get your car serviced in their dealerships, or buy your fluids and other goods from their Mopar shops. Letting customers get their supplies and service from anyone was just letting money walk out the door, so he closed the door and had their bailout paid off in two years. Ruger knows what they're doing to run their business successfully, and part of that is not letting money walk out the door by ditching a superior magazine so you can use whatever crud you want. Mini-14 mags are expensive, but they're also something you buy for life and can abuse to hell without breaking it. You don't like AR mags because they're good, you like AR mags because they're cheap. If you look at steel (not aluminum, steel) AR mags, they're priced in the same ballpark as Mini-14 mags. On top of that, when you buy them, that money is going to Ruger, not some third party. It's been getting on my nerves over the past few years that people who have no idea how to actually run a profitable business go on every gun space and yell the same tired sound byte that if Ruger made the Mini-14 take AR mags, they'd sell more. That would be enticing if every one that gets produced wasn't already getting sold as soon as it hits the shelf somewhere. Every one of those is causing sales of additional magazines. Why would they kill the goose that's actively laying golden eggs?

    It's a ranch rifle, not a close-quarter combat gun. The position of the mag release is WAY down on the list of priorities in such a gun used for hunting/plinking. Hello James, I am always a fan of your work, keep em coming. Living in NY, the laws are so restricted that this Sig makes a it a viable option plus the .308 chambering would be great for a hunting option,A dual purpose rifIe. I wish ruger would get with the program with their mini series using ar15 and ak47 pattern mags as they use clock mags in or the ability to in the PC Carbine and the response rifles. The mags are the weak link. To buy factory mags only and stock up, doesn't make sense to me in 2024 where mag compatibility is a thing.

    • @Sakkyun
      @Sakkyun Před 2 měsíci +2

      @@JTheraos The stock is a big part of the original design, if they change it then the ergos change. Now you have awkward reloads and looser cheek weld. It doesn't do anything the SCR doesn't do and is heavier and loses compatibility for the vast range of AR uppers. Moreover the Regulator isn't even designed for all ban states, it's marketed for the Californians because of the muzzle brake. Shooters in NY (and probably others) still can't use it from the factory without having to pin and weld a thread protector. I'm happy that it exists, maybe just so that other competition will pop up for ban states.
