- In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves reviews the 7 most overrated guns. It's not his list, it's yours, since you all picked them out yourselves on the TFBTV subreddit @ reddit.com/r/tfbtv
Here are some hints: We've got some old favorites, some really good rifles and pistols that are just overpriced, some Dirty Harry guns, some C&R rifles, and some of James favorite pistols made the list too. :(

If you could remove one gun OR add one gun to this list, what would it be and why?
The G19 for the very comment I just posted.
I would remove HK and add any Ruger DA revolver. I guess that says a lot about me doesn’t it?
I'd remove HK VP9.I take mine out on the ranch. It can be dropped on rough terrain again and again and still have the high quality performance. The ruggedness makes it worth the extra cost.
any 9mm glock is overrated.
I'd remove the 1911. Not only does its rank at #7 on your originally "Top 5" list make it technically an "Honorable Mention" but (unlike the M1A/M14) its modernized variants improve upon the original design with better quality, utility, and aesthetics. It no longer shoots only .45 ACP but also can be chambered in 9mm and just about any other pistol caliber. It's available at any price point from $400 to $4000+ and is made by every major manufacturer--precisely because there's a thriving market for it.
The 1911 isn't just a classic firearm. It's also hella fun to shoot and super cool to handle. Like the Glock 19, no gun collection is complete without one. (I'd move the G19 down to #6 and into "Honorable Mention" territory, too. Both of these guns are overrated AND underrated, depending on whom you ask.)
“You’re not a navy seal, you shop at kohl’s and you use kohls cash.” 😂 Straight murder right there
…because your wife told you to 😂
...real talk Kohl's Cash can net you some slammin' deals
“You’re a man who understands Mean Girls references”
He took us all down with that one.
Emotional Damage!
Maybe he lives in the Kohl region. Get it?
The one thing that is never overrated is the shortness of James's tactical spankers
Excellent Elite Tactical Spankers
Speaking of cheesecake factory, those shorts look like they've got two camel back bladders built into the rear
😄😄😄
Idk wide body 1911’s are pretty relevant (Stacatto, MPA, etc) in competition.
Winchester Ranger-T 45 stands out that it expands to 25mm
I loved the part where he showcased the H&K USP and put the button in the mag backwards. Idk how many people picked up on that but I tip my hat to you James. Well down for that inside joke.
A nice nod to the marketing literature H&K published when this pistol was introduced! Nice...
I was just watching this and wondering if anyone else noticed that lol. Had to skim through here to see 😂
@@200434ton Same here.
personally I don't put buttons in my magazines at all.
My mom just bought a vp9 for herself. She chose it just because of it's ergonomics. She's owned Glock, shot sigs and S&W but as soon as she put her hands on the vp9, she loved it. Took her to the range and she actually shot something like 5-10 points better on the silhouette
That's exactly what I just said, my h&k,sig, and Springfield are better
Agree with James on HK AND absolutely LOVE my VP9.
Ergonomics matter. Walther attempted to redefine themselves around this, and they're making it
Finger grooves will never be for everyone, but I wonder how far away we are from "smart material" grips that active-conform and mean you don't have to choose between grooves or no grooves...
Is it the regular or the subkompact? I’ve got the VP40 and love it too
Honestly love that you loaded the usp magazine like their brochure taught you to 😆 🤣
Still laughing about that burn ;)
Except it was a P2000.
I made my way to the comments just for this.
Oh God, I'm so glad I'm not the first person who noticed that instantly!
I might've giggled a little at that 🤣
Most overrated guns video
Starts with a Glock ad
Every time I think my Sig P226 might've been too expensive, I remember that HK makes handguns, which is like the Apple of the gun world.
as a 226 legion rxp owner, i agree.
Hell tbh I'd take a Base P226 over a HK
1911 was my first pistol. Put 100 rounds through it the other day. No problems after 15 years. Favorite rifle is my M1A. Sold my 2nd AR to help pay for it. Shoots 1” groups with my hunting loads. 150 grn Barnes TTSX. Works phenomenal on hogs here in Texas. Can often get 3-4 of them before the pack runs off with the quick follow up from the semi auto. Only clean it once a year. Only time it jammed is on a batch of hand loads that I only neck sized. Just wanted to try it. Haven’t done it agin. Just because somebody else likes something doesn’t mean it’s for you. Just because somebody else dislikes something doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try it. Perfection is perception. So buy as many as you can and if you don’t like em, find somebody who does and sell em! Then go buy some more and try those! God bless
Where do you live?
"Reddit sucks" is an absolute understatement.
James Reeves would like Cheesecake Factory, after all they're both pretty similar. Pretentious and over-priced. Love the video TFB
Cheesecake Factory is pretentious?
Cheesecakes taste the same to me.
Cheesecake is overpriced?
Macaroni and cheese burger, real pretentious. ;)
Hahahaha spot on. James Reeves I like you man, you are one of my favorite go to guns, people love to hate. Just like the Yankee Marshal, 🤣
"You're not a navy seal, you shop at Kohl's" is how I feel about most gun owners lol
But I live in Virginia Beach. And I know seals who shop at Kohls…
I don't think most gun owners think they're seals
@@JosephsCoat you're right...most think the seals are over glorified lifeguards and they could win a war by themselves 😂😂
I couldn't help but laugh whenever I seen the round in the magazine loaded backwards knowing you had to have done that just to mess with somebody and I love that kind of humor lol
It's a reference to an old HK advert where the photographer put the rounds backwards in the mag.
Until I found this channel, I didn't realize the gun community had a crippling lack of quality trolling. Thank you for catering to a need I didn't know we had 👏
/k/ can give some good trolling every once and a while.
Ppl get but hurt so fast it’s like liberals
@@KotaMW the fuck are you talking about the gun community is full of conservatives lol
I love this guy so much, his douchey personality is far more entertaining than any of the high speed low drag operator channels out there (not that those are necessarily terrible, but James is just better)
Tundra tactical....
Good stuff. In 1981 I bought my first 1911, a Series 70 Colt. My Dad told me not to buy that POS and pointed to another gun in the case that was far superior, a Browning Hi Power. Of course, I was young and dumb. Why listen to the advice of my WWII combat vet Dad who stomped across Europe in Patton's 3rd Army? What did he know? Years later, traded that jamming POS for a SW 357. I miss you Dad......
Check out the GN High Power that they released recently. Its a cool throwback
Get a high power for em’
Colt series 70 werent the best 1911s...
Fun Fact: the people behind the movie Dirty Harry specifically wanted the Model 29 for it. The problem being that it was already out of production because of the low sales when they were making the movie. S&W had to put together one from spare parts. But because of the popularity of the movie, sales of the S&W Model 29 skyrocketed. Although it was said a lot of buyers ended up returning theirs...
Exactly the pawn shops were full of them that had been shot one time
I own an HK USP Elite 9mm and an HK Mark 23. They are both very accurate. Stunningly so! The "match grade" triggers are ho-hum. The USP is huge and the Mark 23 is massive. Oh; and both DO cost too much money, but I continue to like them. Overall, his list was pretty much on the money.
I love HK aesthetics, but despise their pricing. the Mark 23 is ridiculously massive. one of the few handguns i've held and thought, "yeah, this is too big for my hands to feel comfortable manipulating the controls on in a stress situation..." not to mention the $2500 price tag.... gorgeous engineering, though.
18:00 That classic, backwards round in the magazine 👌
Saw that, so I checked comments to see if anyone else did too. Good eye.
I found that photo in a Facebook group. Made me question every single decision this company makes and to stay away. This was originally from a product catalog. You know, the publication you send to your potential customers about how good you are and how you deserve their hard earned money.
@@ryangowin1988 same
Springfield 1911 was the first gun I ever bought. LOL 21 year old me showed it to my grandfather, and I was seriously concerned I wasn't going to get it back. I showed it to my Sgt. at the police department I was working for at the time. He said "what do you need that for?" Uhm, its called the bill of rights, not the bill of needs. He was not a fan of that answer.
Lol nice
Sounds like you had a moron sergeant like I did... Mine convinced the chief to buy the entire department H&K HK45's for duty handguns and Ruger SR556's (the piston driven ones) for the AR15's... talk about a waste of tax payer money for overpriced and overhyped shit!
I showed him an article from Lucky Gunner about steel case vs brass case ammo one day... not because of the topic, but because of the cleaning regimen they used... Basically a drop of oil in the cam pin every 2500 rounds, exterior bolt wipe down every 5000k rounds and a detail cleaning at 10k... through all of that, not one of the AR's had any significant number of stoppages. He was flabbergasted that a DI AR15 would last that long. So dumb.
@@Whiskey11Gaming that’s insane you would 100% think that he’d go for a 9mm with more capacity than 10 rounds. That makes no sense.
@@bracoop2 The HK45 was a .45ACP handgun, but still.
@@Whiskey11Gaming a LEO that doesn't respect the Constitution is worse than one who wastes taxpayer money on guns in my opinion
LOVE your videos! The perfect blend of sarcasm and humor. Keep it up!
The main issue I have is that bullet technology has come a very long way. When describing how messed up this caliber or that caliber might be, the discussion of bullet brand needs to be brought up. We’ve all seen how Liberty ammo has a low gr high fps round. Pushing a .45 to 1900 fps. Or a 9mm to 2000+ fps. The results are so different compared to your grandpas bullets. With that said, fuk the .40 and just go 10mm. Just sayin.
I discovered a website which tests handgun round ballistics and the range of performance within the same caliber is stunning.
There’s 9mm hollow point ammo which will penetrate a few inches and barely expand. There’s 9mm hollow point ammo which can go through someone and expand to twice its normal width at the same time. Yes, brands and pressures matter.
My recommendation after looking at that data- 9mm really needs overpressure ammo to perform adequately in self defense situations, but make sure your gun can handle it.
"Less Franziskaner and more Becks Pilsener" As a German this really resonates with me.
Mein Gott, Walter! :)
But see also: "Ich Habe Polizei" where they play on the joke with "Mein Gott, Walther!" czcams.com/video/PNjG22Gbo6U/video.html
Yes.
Your breaking my heart Fredo! The m14 saved my butt in Afghanistan. Yes it’s horribly heavy, and accuracy on paper was minute of barn door at 100m, but when the bullets were flying and my friends were clearing double feeds in their colt m4s, the old m14 was chuga lugging along and laying down 7.62 hate.
It's also so nice to be firing a round that can really reach out and touch someone at ranges commonly found in Afghanistan. I'm not a combat veteran, but I served in the Army Reserves between 93-2001. As a M60 gunner I absolutely adored how easily I was able to hit 600 meter targets and how I could hit out to 800 meters just with iron sights. It's a good feeling to have that kind of range and confidence in your weapon system when you see everything in 5.56mm falling way short. It's that "If I can see it, I can hit it" feeling that definitely builds confidence in a weapon system. That's why I'm not totally hating on the new SPEAR rifles. That being CQB is a whole other matter and is where I prefer 5.56mm firearms. It's all about using the right tools for the right job.
For sure
Guys I knew who had served in Viet Nam liked the M-14 for its ability to kill at long distances, and for its ability to chip away at an enemy's cover till the cover was gone, and so was Mr. Charles. I was born just late enough not to get drafted, so I am no expert! --Old Guy (Jeez, how can I be the old guy if I was too young...? Time flies!)
Don't sweat anything he has to say. You have to understand you are listening to a guy who likes his guns, like he likes his women,......."Plastic!" (lol)

I always get a laugh from these videos, but this one is even funnier than most of them. Great content from TFB. Thanks!
love the tactical re-load at 14:35, offering up the back of your head to whom ever you were previously shooting at! cheers
You know the list is accurate when almost every comment is a cope from someone pretending their gun isn't overrated.
James hit the nail on the head with his closing statement. Louie has a good line about this too; "If you can't laugh at yourself, then I can't take you seriously."
I think we all need to stop at 18:00 to appreciate the HK-accurate orientation of the bullets in his mag. subtle, but had me cracking up.
I also caught that! Frog would approve
Your commentary on your videos is TOP NOTCH 😂 Youre always hilarious and I feel you give great and honest reviews of firearms.
Thank you for the soft music as you cut me down for loving my 1911 lol great video
The reason someone who paid $3k for a KA gun will defend them is because they paid $3k and will defend that expenditure to the end. It's the same in most hobbies. If you severely overpay for a product, you will constantly talk about how you bought the best thing ever in that category.
Exactly
You're not wrong, but I think it goes deeper than that. There is defective hard-wiring in the brains of the KAC Fanboys. Your hypothesis might explain the first KAC they buy (and defend to the death), but it doesn't explain why they'll pay $150 for an Aimpoint T2 Battery Cap with the KAC logo screen printed on it, or the many other asinine purchases they'll make after they buy their SR-15 (anyone wanna buy a dimpled AR15 Barrel for $2,000? The KAC Fanboys will beat down your door for one). I say this as a KAC SR-15 owner. The first one I bought was defective. Yes, and KAC admitted it on a public forum that it was defective. So much for their reliability, huh?
That certainly explains a lot of the Warhammer 40k fan base. 🤣

Good point. We have a common enemy. Infighting in the gun community just makes it easier for that enemy to defeat us.

This hit Fudds in all of their sweet spots, if you had included a lever gun there could have been a drop in life expectancy among our Elmer bros
I too thought the same about lever guns, but there's one niche : suppressing a 38 lever gun for that subsonic goodness
@@cercaz I love lever guns, and many other fudd favorites.
Agree on Kar 98k, due to the ammo. 8mm Mauser is too powerful for short rifle. Give me a 6.5 or 7.
I think lever guns have a place in modern society. It makes sense to modernize the lever gun, especially if you live in a hellhole like California that doesn’t favor ARs.
Except that Lever guns are underrated, except by people who don't shoot them.
Not even 2 minutes into this video and I had to subscribe. I love it lol.
I loved “Ding Dong Ditch”. Flipping hilarious. Great video bro 😎
I own three of the guns on this list:
Colt Delta Elite (fudd gun on steroids), M1A SOCOM (16" barrel and still heavy as fck), and my newly acquired Model 29-4 (I traded a pimped out Century Arms VSKA for it)
Thanks for making me laugh as you shamed me. 😅
Lucky you could even trade a gun at a store, in my area it's with others fudds or the clerks just laugh and up-charge the MSRP by 10%.
Great job at getting rid of the wmd vska and getting a safe and reliable firearm!
love the backwards round in the USP magazine... great reference!!!
That’s forwards for HK. Nothing wrong.

I was looking to see if anyone noticed. Nice touch to the vid.
I had a hearty laugh about the neighbor, "Aiden" LOL
Man I laughed so damn hard at this video😂 you should do these kinda things more often
When I appendix carry, not only do I not chamber a round, the top round in the magazine is loaded backwards to prevent a negligent discharge in the close vicinity of my twig and berries.
I absolutely love the M14, totally outclassed in performance and far from a practical choice in comparison to whats currently available. Hell its got the shortest service life of anything adopted by the US military. But there's just something cool about it thats just fun.
If we ended up fighting a war in Russia instead of Vietnam, the m14 would have literally kicked so much ass due to the flat wide open terrain. It was just the wrong rifle for the wrong war….
@@gavinm1347 I agree.
It's beautiful to shoot and beautiful to own. There's nothing overrated about it. It's just a lovely rifle. It's military record is irrelevant to me as a civilian collector/shooter. By the standard of military record a Mosin Nagant is a better weapon because it served longer and killed more dudes. That's ridiculous.
Served me well during the Camp Perry Matches.
It was also the preferred rifle of my youth back when I spent the majority of my time at Ben Avery's 1000 yard range.
All the naysayers claiming that it is woefully inaccurate is utter nonsense. It's not the rifle - it's the shooter.
Just like a J-frame revolver, the M1A/M14 is an _Experts_ gun.
Stay classy my friends.
@@slabrankle9588 the problem with it is that an AR-10 is better in every way for less money.
LMAO… the Billy Ripken reference killed me.
Loving the 1911 is like loving a Harley Davidson. Yeah, it doesn’t suck, but it’s been a long time since it was actually the best thing you could get.
Norinco 1911A1. Over 5k rounds. 1 stove pipe. No other failures. I cleaned it every 50 mags worth. Short fat and slow, when the job just needs to get done.
.45 ACP?
@@FuzzyWCTX Yeah, that's every Glock owner's experience, too...except without the stove pipe, and holds 2x the ammo at 2/3 the weight.
@@FuzzyWCTX or like a Harley...short fat slow and broken down on the side of the road
the 1911 isn't even the best John Moses Browning-designed single action pistol that saw military use you can get.
But honestly that isn't even the point of getting a 1911. It's like a Colt SAA, you're doing it because -you want to larp as a GI- you want to enjoy the historicity of it
I feel I need to comment on the HK handguns. I was in my early 20s when I bought my first HK USP 45. I traded in my Beretta 92 on it to make it more easily affordable. I really liked the controls and the looks of it. However, putting a lot of rounds through it, I wondered why I put that much scratch into it. I've owned 3 different HK pistols over the years, and I've grown to really like them. To a point. Once the parts start to wear to the point of failure, the replacements are expensive and not very easy to switch out. That said, I still love them, but there are much better options out there for people who aren't really invested in keeping up an HK for hard use
I'm backwards you; traded my HK for a 92, lol. I liked it, but discovered to my great surprise that I shot my wife's $300 Sar 9 better, and it felt better ergo-wise for me to boot. I also could not bring myself to drop 50 dollars for an extra mag, realized I wasn't going to enjoy keeping this gun.
try CZ 75, B or C
@@jeffreystayman375 yeah, that's another drawback to HK, pretty much everything about them costs a lot compared to others. I remember when I sold my 2nd HK I took a huge step back financially and bought a 3rd generation Glock 19 and had enough spare to buy a 3rd gen Glock 31C off of a friend. I really miss the days when everything was more affordable!
@@Pprokop87 I really like CZ. I'm kind of ashamed to admit it, but I've never owned a CZ. Definitely on my bucket list
@@hunterphille1280 in my country it is almost imposible to legaly own a modern firearm. I wish i could have som but if i could afford them (1k$ for a cheap glock) i would have to go to hell and back to get my permission for every one firearm i would own. So i worked with some guns, shoot some more, but i'm unable own one... 😢
You pronounced Cowboys Fans wrong
good point
No, he pronounced whiny-ass-bitch-boy-Patriots-fans correctly. :)
For all the reasons he stated about HK. I feel like the HK should've been number one for overrated Guns. I've said that for years and as expensive as their guns are. Their customer service is terrible. They talk down to people. They act like they're doing you a favor by letting you purchase one of their guns. They definitely have a different way of thinking over at Heckler & Koch
I agree that 1911 are not the best choice. However, my first gun was a Kimber Pro Carry II (ok, second gun after the used Astra Constable II I bought in 1989 proved to be a paperweight) and I still carry it, train with it and it just works. I have had other 1911s that suck.
I appreciate the reference to the backwards loaded magazine hk advertisement lol
"The Atticus Finch of gun guys", To Kill a Mocking Bird would have been a horror story if Atticus had James' taste in shorts.
I really enjoy your videos, and to me it's all about personal preference but I love the 1911 and I'll tell you why because it was the first handgun that I fell in love with Starsky and Hutch. And I'll add this no other semi-auto or polymer gun will ever become what the 1911 is.
Awesome vid. Thank you.
Disappointed no AK's made the list.
-They are touted as being as reliable as death and taxes but really arnt anymore reliable than modernish AR's
-Poorly designed in the way you need factories the size of cities to make them cheap
-Not really modular
-Heavy asf for shooting such a sub par cartridge
-Not very accurate compared to other guns. Never seen one consistently shoot under 2 MOA.
-Need a ton of specialty tools and know how to work on them.
-They made sense 20-30 years ago when you could get them along with 5k rounds of ammo for a Chuck-E-Cheese token, but not now.
Everyone should remember overrated doesn't mean "bad"...and better to have a glock or 1911 (both of which I personally don't care for in relation to other handguns) than nothing at all. It's like cars, trucks, motorcycles....sometimes people like what they like and have trouble separating "likable" from "objectively great" but it's all good...buy and shoot what you like....the ribbing and trash talk is part of what guys do...no need to get emotional about it 👍
Great video, thank you!
informative and hilarious. well done.
17:59 the traditional way to load an HK mag was represented. Had me worried there for a moment.
Strong ending. I loved the sweet gentle music.

Always entertaining!
I'm pretty sure the entire Glock line deserve a special distinction here, because the pistols only really good once you replace the trigger, the sights, add grip texture, add serrations to slide, add rmr cuts, and replace a couple parts here and there. Oh and you pay more for this basic starter pack of a pistol. In the meantime you can get all the same features on an M&P for a lot less money, can you get pistol backstraps that actually stay on the pistol. But if you want all that Gucci stuff you're more than welcome to go buy a Sig Sauer Legion, it'll probably still cost less than the tuned-up Glock.
Lol.
#Truth
Exactly. Glocks are ok guns, but out of the box, they are sub par compared to others. Sure, once you spend twice the cost of the gun on upgrades, they become a very good gun, but by far, Glocks are the most overrated guns out there.
@Jonathan Nieve - are you saying the M&P is a “clone” of the Glock? LOL, the M&P is better in every way. And I’m of the thought that plastic is for toys and plastic guns are the guns of the poors……
@@W9HJBill there are definitely more overrated guns. IMO, the only part on a Glock that really needs to be replaced is the sights, which is the case for most pistols.
You can run a stock Glock trigger pretty fast. Short of buying a Canik or certain Walthers all striker fired pistols have similar triggers out of the box.
It should say something when the army adopts the P320 due to a much lower bid than Glock, meanwhile the FBI, and DEA - less concerened with budget - use Glocks. SOCOM also adopted the Glock so that secret squirrel types can use it. As far as budget pistols I think Caniks are prett hard to beat.
The VP9 is unbelievably accurate for me. Academy had them on sale for $599 recently. Not overrated in the slightest..it's a steal
does It have the paddle style mag release ?
Yep paddle mag release is present.
Just picked one up from Academy this weekend... rare to find em at that price
@@homelessman3483 The one on sale at Academy does have the paddle mag release and 2 17 round magazines. Non optics ready
Not an optics ready you didn’t , you paid taxes on it and an ffl transfer fee , so it was actually closer to 700
I imagine it wasn’t easy putting all of that good info together brother. Thanks man, whale done
Great video!
Glock is the most overrated haha.. Bad stippling, bad ergos, bad serrations, bad sights, bad optics mounting system, no 1913 rail, bad triggers, bad trigger safeties, bad slide release.. you have to fix everything on it haha. There's no reason to pick one up when the PDP, 509, p10 exist.
The thing about the 1911 that no one ever mentions but locks it for me is that came out in 1911. When it came out, probably more than half the adults of the time had learned to shoot with a muzzle-loader. The vast majority of modern guns were bolt action or revolvers, usually with some design element that is hard to believe ever made sense. And then there is the 1911, that obviously fell out of a time machine. Be honest: we all liked the 1911 as a kid, thought it looked cool and very modern, saw it in the movies, etc. Remember the day you found out WHY it is called a 1911 and it instantly gridlocked you? Well, for me, that is why the 1911 can not ever be over-rated. It IS the rating system.
thats a really solid point. it was never overrated, just outdated by modern standards.
If you get a cheap or poorly built (Kimber Custom II) 1911, then yes, it is overrated. However, if you get a solid, well built, well machined 1911 (Sig Sauer, Springfield), it is as reliable as the sun coming up in the East and setting in the West. I have several and have 1000s of rounds with zero failures (except for my 2 Kimber Custom IIs). I'll admit, my Glock 17 and 26 are reliable as well, but they don't handle as well as the 1911s. If you are going to polymer framed guns, than My Sig P320 and XD's are just as reliable and more comfortable shooter than my Glocks. I would put my XD or Sig up against a Glock any day. If Glock is Perfection, than XD and Sig are Perfection made better.
The reason i dont own a 1911 is because it isnt left hand friendly even over a hundred years later
Ill have two if there ever is a lefthanded model available
It was a great gun in 1911, but heavily upgraded by the mid 1920s, with few major changes after that, aside from mostly accessories. The C96 was the revolutionary semi auto weapon, coming in and getting mass produced.
Very well said!
I bought the M&P Shield Plus by accident because I was trying to get the same gun as my son! I love it because it is super accurate! Eventually I got a deal on the actual gun that my son has, except it's a different version called the Metal M&P 2.0. He has the polymer M&P 2.0. After shooting mine 170x,I fell in love because it's better in every way, like bullet capacity, look and also accuracy! Too me this gun makes me look like a pro,and I think that I shoot it better one handed with either hand! Wow,I'm obsessed with it!😊 🤩💥❤
Absolutely convinced me to go out and buy a 1911 and join a bunch of their forums... really, I do wish I could get back that officers lightweight model I sold, it was nice...
You gun experts drive me nuts. In 1973 fresh out of the Marines I bought a 9 mm. Then a year later they said it was terrible so I bought a 1911 Gold Cup. Then several years later they said bye S&W 642. Then said upgrade your 45 to a new style I did. Then upgrade your 9 mm to a P365. I have to many guns now. So to be safe I try to carry at least 3 guns at all times. I hate you internet experts. You can't make your mind up about anything. I have to many guns now. My grandsons will be finding them in my closet soon one day saying why did he have so many guns.

HK G3 and FN FAL: "Am I a joke to you?"
Everything European is a joke. Joke countries, joke people.
Don’t forget the Galil from Israel
Very entertaining video!
Your presentations are so well done. I'm glad you are not discouraged by those critical and cruel detractors. Excellent work. Thank you!!
I own a Kar98k and also a Gewehr G43. However, since both were "bring backs" and I have $0 invested it's hard for me to label them overrated.
the only thing making the overrated at least for their price is simply american artificially high prices for them
I love Mauser Kar 98K rifles, but they were obsolescent in 1939. The G43 and K43's were much better and didn't have that clip system of the M-1. Enjoy your 8mm range days! --Old Guy
I love 1911s, I carried one a lot in the Navy, but James's comments were so funny that he almost turned me. I do have a soft spot for the M14. The first time I shot one in 1979, I earned the Navy Expert Rifleman Medal.
they can poke fun of it all they want, the fact that a 110+ year old design is still relevant enough to bother the short shorts beauty is enough for me.
@@bens6865 Ha! Right on.
Ok boomer
@@benemery1644 I'm in my 20s but ok. Maybe you've never shot a 1911, they shoot beautifully. I don't get the hate. I can make 6-8" groups at 25 yards not even pushing myself with a basic 1911.
"Navy rifle expert" is like being the smartest kid with Downs. I wouldn't brag about that.
Thanks James for a well.thought video
I was dying when you showed the H&K USP with the bullet backwards in the magazine🤣
1911 is an outdated platform overall....still works, still can get match accuracy, but is a bit outdated. That said, Browning invented an absolute monster WAY ahead of its time, owning market for a century. Every auto now is a derivative.
Send a direct message now you just won yourself a free gun 🎁🎁🎁
People just get salty that a 100 yr old gun can still out perform their stupid plastic "modern" guns.
I'll gladly take my 1911 over any other pistol I own.
The only downfall is small mags.
10k rounds though mine and only a handful of malfunctions I contribute to my shite reloads I crank out on the progressive as fast as it turns.
@@YourDadsBoyfriend Yeah I love my 1911s too. As for small mags - they are thinner than double stack mags and easier to carry 5 or 6 at a time. I know its supposed to be "better" to carry as much ammo as you can but honestly A round in the pipe, one mag in the gun and one in a carrier or elsewhere on my person is more than enough for me. I always figure if I'm in a situation where 18 or 19 rounds isn't enough I'm already fk-d going in and more mags won't help much if at all. Not recommending anyone else do it that way - its just my way and I've been ok with it for many years. Thankfully I have not been in a firefight yet and I hope I never will.
Outdated? Ignorant comment
@@YourDadsBoyfriend It is a tight weapon, it has malfunctions because it has little variability, but that's what makes it so accurate. It was tested by the military to be outdated and malfunction 4 times as much as modern pistols, as you saw in the video. I love the 1911 also, especially the compact ones that are modernized. It's still obsolete and that goes for the Glock 19 also size wise for CCW, you think we can't see its imprint when you carry it, we can, I saw you in the food court 100 yards away with it lol. You are wearing a full-size polo and jeans in the summer to conceal that thing.
“It’s well made in the way that $23 tweezers made in Germany are well made - it’s the best version of something that didn’t need to be great.” I gotta remember that one…
Ha!!! LOVE the backwards loaded mag you slipped in…coffee almost came out my nose.
I'm with you. I had a 40 full size Smith & Wesson and went to a 9 after years of damage to my body in the military and the workforce. I was a naysayer of 9 mm for a long time until I started shooting more with it. Much more controllable and really didn't make a difference on what I was hitting so I'm going to stick with the nine. I wouldn't let keyboard surfers ruin that experience it just means that they don't have a lot of experience themselves.
I love the 1911 for one reason, and one only. My grandfather left me his 1911 from WWII. It’s a Singer. Yeah, all the faults, but the resale value is amazing.
Never sell it, that’s truly a treasure.
@@revmars5222 I plan to sell it when my first grandkid is born. Then I’ll split the money between my kids. My grandfather made it very clear he intended for me to sell it eventually.
You are lucky! Enjoy the gun and cheers.
@@peterearden 40 to 85grand
@@andreawhalen4142 that’s a bit lower than the appraiser’s estimate, and what the last singer 1911 went for.
As always you never disappoint and always make me laugh. I love the Mr. Rogers like ending with the music. Next time incorporate some creepy puppets. BTW, it’s certainly not a prime carry gun, but I’ve fired a couple of those big .44s that belonged to friends, and the length of the barrel mitigated a lot of the recoil I feared was coming, and I’m a small guy. They were fun to shoot.
My choice for hunting firearm would actually be a Super Redhawk in .44Mag with a scope and 6-8 inch barrel.
That's partly because I admit that I'm lousy at hunting, do love hiking in the wilderness, and would like an actual chance at bagging venison if I finally put myself into a clear shot.
Not humping around a heavy rifle given all that is the goal.
@@HiroNguy they're pretty damn heavy anyway. I have 3 .44 mags a Super Redhawk that's accurate as fuck and real easy on the hands. it's good with a scope or iron sights but damn it's ugly. for the OP I have 4 5/8 SBH and a 7.5 SBH and the shorter barrel kicks less in my opinion. it's too many .44's but the story of how they came my way is too long for here. what can I say? I'm a Fudd.
@@HiroNguy I own the Super Redhawk in 44 mag with a 7.5 inch barrel and the sights on it even without a scope makes it super accurate and the weight makes it fun to shoot. Also had a friend who is a leather worker make me a shoulder holster so it's not that bad to carry either.
@@steveelder5306 I got lucky with mine, used for $500 before the coof happened. I saw it and immediately put half down and picked it up the next week.
Smith Wesson Magnum Hunter for me. That muzzle break and 8” inch barrel tames the .44 mag easily. I put a red dot on and zeroed it to 50 yards. The gun is as accurate as a .44 mag can be (more accurate than my lever action marlin with its stupid 1:38 twist rate anyway).
I love your episodes awesome review lol can't stop laughing at your comments all of them lol
This one time at band camp this guy I worked with took off and handed me his edc glock 21 and spare mag. Heavy AF. The size of the t-shirt he wore to conceal it was comical. He now has a glock 19.
Glock, Glock, Glock, Glock, Glock, Glock, and Glock. 😂
Also the mp5
Glock is love. Glock is life.
Long live the Glock!
Top tier for the 80s but overrated by todays standards. Look at the micro 9mm market while Glock came out with … the 43,43x, and the 44 .22LR. Like what are you doing Glock? They are only big because of aftermarket parts.
@@Sig_P229 I edc the 43x lmao
@@9mmpeter255 with the shield mags though right? That is an aftermarket part. I own Glock, but have never carried it. Anyways, I was saying how it was comparable to the micro 9mms
@@Sig_P229 nope. I'm one of those weirdos who trust the Glock mags more and don't want to change the stupid mag release. I have too many Glock mags to turn back lol
I like how the ammunition is loaded in backwards in the magazine at 17:57
How much does it take to out shoot a 43X? Apparently not much. Thanks for the video
I have a 1911 because I've always wanted one. It isn't a hill I'm willing to die on though. I've only put a little over 2K rounds through my Citadel and luckily I've never had a jam. For $450 bucks it was a great deal. I also own a P365 which I love so I'm really glad I didn't see that on this list as well.
Love the backward cartridges for the USP mag 😂
What a throwback
Yeah, that was a nice touch. Made me literally laugh out loud.
I caught my wife watching your videos. She says, “he has a level of clarity that other CZcams folks don’t.” She’s a lawyer… and said she could tell you were too. I said it was because you’re both jerks!
We love your work keep it up!
Thank you for your coverage of the Kar-98, the best rifle since $23 Herman tweezers! Amazingly smooth wood (oMG, that’s some HaRd wOoD! ) and hard to find rounds! Awesome.
The ammo is actually not hard to find….
LOL what a throwback reference with the backwards round in the HK mag.
Still love the 1911. But modern handguns have considerably more to offer.
If you like the 1911, the 2011 (I have an SVI) is a great option. However, the CZP09 or CZP07 is an excellent option: similar ergonomics, great trigger with a little mod and 19rnd capacity.
CZ P-07 or P-01 absolutely render 1911s obsolete, IMO. And if you *must* have a 1911 style then the 2011 is better anyway. Only 1911 I can get behind is 10mm.
Unfortunately, those pistols never really caught on. I think it's because people are obsessed with strikers and the triggers on striker guns have improved. One plus is that they use the same mags as the P-10, but it would have been better if the P-07/09/10 just used CZ-75 mags.
The versatility of the omega system is really nice, though. Go classic double-single with a decocker, or SAO with a safety and double-action second strike capability. BE WARNED, though, even with tuning, the omega trigger will never be as good as a tuned CZ-75/Shadow2/P-01 trigger.
EDIT: Also, people have had issues with the P-07 chambered in .40, so stick with 9mm.
All Browning designs.
Hahaha😄 the "loaded" H&K mag... As in the H&K company advertisement.
I love your formats. I've never seen any yet that didn't offer great content and common sense price evaluation .
For a Glock lover
Brother . HA !
What do you think about the tr-1 rifle?
6.5 creed outperforming .308 on ballistics at distance is not an opinion, but the.308 is ubiquitous in supply, deadly AF within the range 99% of us will ever need it and the AR platform is so user friendly compared to the ranch rifle format, so there’s that.. this could be another great topic.. great vid TFB
Not to mention the subsonic capabilities of 308 compared to 6.5
6.5 shooters often vote Democrat
Of all the guns that I own, the one that I will NEVER part with is my 6" S&W Model 29 Classic Hunter. Crowned barrel, worked trigger, ported, instant adjustable Hunting front sight, and an absolute BLAST to shoot.
