      Even a 10 pounder is heavy! Gotta remember to calculate weight with water added, because usually a weighted blanket soaks up more water than clothing does, so it will be really heavy and bulky in a washing machine. I would just say don't even try putting a weighted blanket in your residential washer. Modern day washers spin cycle is very fast and any kind of big bulky blanket, even a comforter, or a bath matt can damage your washer. See article for reference: "Family Handyman, Why Bathroom Mats Shouldn't Go in Your Washer"

    A little skeptical on the washing process, our dreamaway blanket tags says no to all, machine,drier and obviously the bleaches.
    The blanket is a glass bead, so I cannot see any reason why it cannot be machine washed.
    Curious what the damage would be if I did wash on gentle and tumble, pull while still a wee damp and lay on the kitchen table.💁‍♂️
    I have a hyperactive 4 yr old and we love this blanket. He sleepsnin his own bed now!🙆‍♂️

    My 12 lbs. blanket says it contains glass but also says spot clean only. Does that mean I can still machine wash? Can I dry it on my stationary rack that goes into my dryer? I use it for items that I don’t want to tumble dry I.e. tennis shoes.

    • @CleanWithConfidence
      @CleanWithConfidence  Před 4 lety +4

      If it says hand wash only that would just be a personal choice. As far as the stationary rack is concerned I prefer to lay it out on a flat clean surface to dry. I would hate for the blanket to hang off the sides and the beads bunch up inside messing up the weight distribution.

    I was thinking wash it in the yard hang it up and spray like if you’re going to wash your car bu I don’t have a yard maybe take it to a car wash and wash it make use you have a Bucket to put it in and when you get home put it over a balcony to let dry that’s what I can think of besides using and washer because boy if you don’t wash it it will smell like hell 😜
