Whoops! Missed the premiere (working on the next original song 😉), sorry guys! Overall I think this is a great guitar for the price. Happy to answer any questions you have.
I appreciate that you showed us every tone. Most of reviewers don't go through tones and just play with dirty sound. Thank you for that!
Donner is a genius at advertising. They send a guitar to various channels and ask for an honest review. They know their guitar is a good deal for the price point, so should get favorable reviews. It's a win-win-win. Donner wins with the advertising, reviewers win with a free guitar, learning to give reviews, and Amazon affiliate commissions (if they set it up). Buyers win with good information. Thanks for the review; you did it quite well! (Plus your variety of playing was great, both in your skill and hearing what the guitar is capable of.) I already decided to get the bundle. They are temporarily sold out. I'm an older beginner and not sure if playing guitar is something I want to pursue beyond basics. Thus, I don't want to invest a lot of money. I was going to get the Sapphire Blue, but I'm liking the Light Blue you reviewed.
Thank you! I’ve enjoyed working with Donner, it definitely seems like they’ve put a lot of thought into their offerings and marketing. Good luck on the guitar journey! I know it’s tough at first, but it’s such a wonderful way to spend time.

4th position it’s all I know!
Beautiful guitar 😍
Looks like a good beginner electric guitar. I only play acoustic so far, but I’d like an electric someday 🙂 Nice well rounded review!
Haven't seen your content in a while but it's nice seeing you getting close to 20k Joe, here's an early congrats to you man keep up the good work 👏🏼🍻
Thank you!!
This reminds me of my 1st drum set and how it sounded so bad when I tried to play. I had a friend who knew how to play take the sound to a whole new level - even on a cheap set of drums. I was like Wow.
☺️ I remember how frustrating it was to play early on. But with practice you can take most instruments where you want them to go! (Not all, there are some true duds out there. This ain’t one of them.)
Man i love you
100th like! I just bought this guitar!
Great vocal point review on the guitar itself.
However I personally wish the mini amp it comes with was used as well, for a complete donner guitar review.
Thanks! Fair point, I understand what you mean. I think the mini amp is quite nifty and sounds ... ok, but it’s obviously prioritizing size/convenience for beginners over sound quality. I was interested in hearing how good the guitar could possibly sound and to give me a bit more realistic tactile feedback.
Trickster! Nice
It’s a great little riff!
Dig the shirt Joe. I recently preordered the Mini Glitch and can’t wait for it to arrive. Have you found uses for it besides the usual Greenwood glitching?
Thanks! Yes, it is definitely more than just the Greenwood glitch! Especially with the new click code, you can do some cool ambient pad/sample and hold stuff using the threshold or footswitch modes. Using it in dry pass mode helps this as well and you can kind of just create a texture bed for other stuff you play on top.
🙂🙂🙂
Thanks for the review Joe. Looking to get back into playing after a multi-decade hiatus. This is one guitar I am considering and wonder if you have an opinion on how it would compare/contrast to a Squire Affinity HSS? Thanks in advance for any insight.
I haven’t tried a Squier Affinity model lately (I have a classic vibe starcaster that I really dig) but I’d say I think the Donner compares favorably. There are definitely slight flaws to both, but none that would interfere with basic playing/enjoyment for an inexpensive instrument!
I play an acoustic guitar so far and i would love to try an electric guitar. I am looking for a cheap guitar and which do you think is better? A Donner dst guitar or a squier bullet strat?
I think they’re both good options!

Thank you for replying😊
He rated it in goldblums, I’m dead 🤣🤣🤣
Ha ofcourse plenty of Radiohead in there for good measure. Nice review. Thanks! Keep it up.
Haha it’s my try-a-guitar fallback now.... I swear I know other songs 😅
@@JoeEdelmann3 would you take a look at a recent friend I made who makes his own original music? His youtube is "The Envied" czcams.com/channels/Rmw-d55L2Zd8UbtlXKlVeg.html He does vocals guitar bass and keys. And I think you two could hit it off.
@@mcpooch nice! Bit of a strokes/weezer/panic at the disco blend to the tune.
