I obviously do not own the content of this video, I just think it's interesting to have all of the interviews that are negative edited neatly into one place to help people see actors reactions to the final season of GOT.

Peter Dinklage's two best roles:
1) Tyrion Lannister
2) Peter "Pretending to be excited" Dinklage
He played it great in Destiny, so well it made another actor re-record every single line
His part “praising” D&D feels like a hostage situation.
Peter "D&D planted a bomb in my skull and will detonate it if I tell you the truth" Dinklage
@@afarensis9720 Someone edited that clip of Peter to put one of those sniper red dots on his forehead. lmao
That interview with him was pure awkward. The dead stare and lack of enthusiasm... damn. His unhappiness was too obvious haha.
Kit's "disappointing" was so genuine lol.
the interviewer was so heartbroken 😭
it was like he didn't even try to censor it, that's how bad he hated it
He did nothing the whole final season so, not surprising.
The actors could barely hide their disgust. They had the pretend everything was fine, but like they could barely do it lol It's really sad though they dedicated like 10 years of their Lives to that show.
then he remembered the contract.
I am so incredibly sorry for Ian McElhinney, he genuinely cared about his role in the story and was clearly devastated by D&D's choice to kill Barristan off.
The was the beginning of major stupidity.
It was done completely for shock value.
It was a bad decision. The character was just getting going, and he was really interesting. I would have loved to see his reaction to Jorah's return.
Yeah I get the feeling that Barristan is definitely supposed to make it to the final King’s Landing battle in the books.
Doesn't help that they outright said that him trying to argue against it just made them want to do it even more.
D&D were a bunch of petty assholes on that one.
Kit : "Disappointing...no Epic..I don't know , one of those.. "
Sure kit, those two do sound like synonyms.
Epically disappointing
@MUFC Are you trying to subvert expectations?
@MUFC ummmm. Are you alright mate?(:

yeah good job fuck wit, we've all seen that comment 50 times now.
His face screamed "please don't hurt my family and let them go"
He's just being ironic.
Loved how Dinklage looked like he was filming a hostage video in his last statement there. Lol.
Also, that 6.5 was EXTREMELY generous. I have yet to meet anyone in person who actually like anything in seasons 7-8 or the ending.
It got praise by a lot of critics for the set design, costumes, production etc. None of those 6.5 stars is for the script. The script was atrocious.
Season 7 was actually decent, and had a rather decent action scenes.
Episodes 3-6 in Season 8 was abysmal
From a technical level the show is a marvel, script was awful. A 6 seems fair.
@@jameer7565 We’re not talking about production value. We’re talking about the scripts that seem as if a second year college writing major wrote them.
@@JohnDoe-zr8pc ratings take more than just raw script quality into account, so production value is definitely relevant
2:29 “…it just didn’t seem right to us for this moment”
THIS is the sign of the poor writer. As GRRM said, if you change things mid journey, you screw up all the thematic groundwork that’s led up to that moment
Translation “it didn’t seem right to us to continue this mumers farce that is our daylives on this show..”
I just don't understand what that means. He says something about "avoiding the expected" but damn I mean not everything in your story has to be a surprise.
Also, you know, Jon Snow fighting the Night King, and LOSING, but getting bailed out by Arya, would also be surprising and I think less stupid than John yelling at a dragon in slow motion
Peter Dinklage is a great actor, here we seeing him playing the role of a man with a gun being held to his head.

Peter Dinklage is the embodiment of "I am loyal to D&D, my one true love." in these interviews and i'm living for it.
that's what I thought
I must be loyle to my capo
And you are the epitome of ignorance. You don't understand anything he says, the way he says it, do ye?! My goodness. Just shut it, you're making a fool of yerself. He's simply smarter than you are and therefore too much for ye. Go and buy a book where you can learn about the language he speaks, about irony and sarcasm and wit. I mean, how can anyone, anyone take seriously what he just said at the end, the way he said it?! Next time he says something: Humans convey information 55% through facial expressions and gestures, 38% through the sound of their voice and only 7% through what they actually say! That means you're missing 93% of the information Dinklage conveys. That's quite impressive, is it not?
You probably grew up with one of those freaking smartphones glued to yer face and two clumsy thumbs typing cryptically abbreviated word salad without seeing a person's face or hearing their voice 99% of the day, so yer communication "skills" are shockingly underdeveloped, barely existent even. How does that sound? Oops... no sound at all? Quite sufficient for ye, you'd miss out on the rest anyway. 💩
Because he is a fake POS human who only cares about his pockets.
It reminds of his love for Shae! His character fell in love only with whores during his liftime. Don't know about Peter tho!
Peter legit looks like he’s in a hostage situation.
He knows there aren't many good roles for people with dwarfism. He *has* to keep maintaining good relations with everyone.
Bo Ta bullshit, he is an A list actor who has serious talent and good looks. He just was under contract just like his coworkers to not speak ill of GOT or D and D
I never said he's not good actor or he's not good looking. I simply said there aren't many good acting roles for people with dwarfism which is mostly the fault of writers not knowing how to write good dwarf characters.

I wonder if it is a part of their contract. That they can not speak in negative way about the show in public.
Honestly the story line of the last season was a complete disappointment, looks like the actors feel the same way, but they are very delicate when talking about it.
For me the story ending was total garbage. Whoever wrote that crap should lose his job.
@@lastelin I'll bet, that's part of any contract.

You don't trashttalk who is basically your employer, that's how you make sure you don't get more jobs because they (and other producers/directors/etc.) think you are a pain to work with.
Jamie Lannister was and to me still is one of the greatest characters in fiction. His character was so beautiful only to be ruined with one single line in season 8. Genuinely tragic
Still can't get over how bad they handled Jaime. For basically eight seasons they wrote him pretty well, arguably better than any other character in the show, and a single scene ruins his entire arc. Utterly awful.
What specific scene are we talking about?
@@xNoahAC his death, mainly. But there were other scenes in the finale episode which didn't help.
LITERALLY. My favorite character due to his incredible complexity (portrayed brilliantly imo by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) absolutely BUTCHERED by D&D in the end. [insert the "Look how they massacred my boy" meme 🥲🥲🥲]
@@xNoahACthe "I never cared for the people" scene. That statement contradicted a lot of his previous actions.
The worst thing about these endings is that they quite literally ruin the show. You simply can't watch any older seasons that were great without thinking about just how bad it ends. It makes older episodes worse even tho they are great on their own
Such a shame too, the early seasons were pretty good.
They really ruined the re-watchability of the show.
I can pretty easily the later seasons feel like fan fic so its not that hard to just pretend as if they never happened
so true i have a friend who got into the show once it was already finished and felt that the ending was rushed but “fine” but completely gets how that was probably an incredibly disappointing experience for people who watched this live waiting YEARS for the next season and week by week for the episodes. never mind if the live watcher were book readers too just so much disappointment. i haven’t been able to rewatch it because of how poorly it ended. it is underwhelming at best.
I think it can be rewatchable if you just ignore the last two seasons. Just like how you can ignore the Star Wars sequel trilogy
journalists: are you satisfied with GOT ending?
any GOT actor: nervous laughter
*chuckles*
"-I'm in danger"
Peter Dinklage didn't laugh. He was just criticizing episode 3 crypt stupidity and monotonely praised the writers and meant you people are in for it in a different way than you would first think. Isaac Hempstad Wright just had a nervous smile. Not much of a laugh there.
Any GoT Actor: nervous laughter. "Hehe, by the way, did anyone check the rooftops around here? You know, just for fun. I like my rooftops clear of, you know, stuff and things. No no, there's no snipers, obviously!"
Because they can't say anything about the season.
@Bruce Wayne The hell does them being Jewish have to do with anything?
The problem with the ending is that nobody is going to think back and remember how great the show was. Only how badly it ended.
It takes a lifetime to build a reputation, and only a moment to destroy it.
Yup. :(
Reminds me of Mass Effect 3:) Though they at least altered the ending to be slightly less stupid, do not think that can happen here. But there might still be the books if Martin ever gets to writing them instead all of other things he does.
NetAndyCz honestly Mass Effect 3 had a better ending, at least it didn’t betray the development of almost every single character :(
@@Robert399 Never understood why people dislike the ending. It reflects the entire series pretty well. Blue ending = The morals of AI and control. Red ending = the morals of destroying all AI also risking future AI to take over. Green ending = indoctrination, literally fast forwarding evolution so that AI and organics can co-exist and understand each other. Plus it was really hard to tell which ending was more paragon/renegade because the choices are more "grey" while mass effect usually is more black and white with their paragon/renegade choices which also made the ending choices much more complicated than most other choices in the game
This is the theme of all games. Control, destroy and indoctrinate. The only thing that made the ending bad imo was that it didn't look very good but on paper the outcome of each ending is played out a lot in all three games. The extended cut fixed a lot of the "visual" problems and in the end I was very happy with it.
Using the citadel and mass relays as catalysts was also logical. I originally believed the ending would be that the organics would activate the citadel relay for the reapers to after blowing it up with the crucible while the reapers were relayed into the system. The original endings was way better than what I personally thought would happen.
The best bit was Conleth smirking at the question and then covering it up, followed by Cunningham laughing out loud at Conleth's expression. There must've been some discussion between the two about how badly they messed up Varys.

This is actually pretty common for shows with bad directors
@@mike7546 This is more about the writers sucking ass.
it was such a great clip showing GRRM blasting the unprofessional mistake that D&D did. It's still shocking to me how those two could have worked on the show for so many years and then give it that horrible ending. It's either gross negligence, or they have their heads so far up their asses, they just couldn't do better
it was negligence , it's known that cuz they had gotten an offer from disney to do a star wars show , they rushed the show and only gave it a couple more season (they got the offer around season 5 or 6) even though grrm pleaded with them to continue it to 13 seasons or more as hbo approved it , or for them to hand the reigns over to someone else , but they refused selfishly only wanting their names attached to it , they ended the last season with only 6 episodes , much less than all the seasons prior and yet with all the main storylines / events happening in it such as "the long night" (lasted one night lol) / jon snows whole arc , dany coming to kings landing and taking it , and dany losing it / her throne and going mad , little fingers schemes coming to an end and varys' , dorne / its leaders coming to an end , the iron born reforming , jaimes arc / along with brienne , and brans arc as the three eyed raven , and the reuinion of the starks , jon snow becoming king of the north and being revealed to be a targaryan which amounts to nothing , etc , and they managed to of course ruin all of them / these stories , and in the end everything pretty much amounted to nothing ,
not to mention it was so rushed that in the scene before jon becomes king of the north , there was a starbucks cup in it , but one good karma thing is that d and d had the offer from disney rescinded , maybe cuz of how badly they botched the last few seasons , the reason being cuz grrm wasnt writing anything for the last seasons / or giving them notes / etc probably cuz they removed him or cuz of the disagreement , and they had no source material , before all the other seasons were good cuz it was grrm's writing , the last seasons show you what d and d are without it and how horrible they are
Aren’t they Jewish??
GRRM isn't specifically talking about the ending here - that clip is from years before the finale. I think it's misleading to include it here, but I understand why the uploader did, as it perfectly applies.
@@camannwordsmithIt doesn't matter if he's specifically talking about them, if what he is talking about is exactly representative of their actions. Also George has thrown plenty of shade at D&D. Tbf George himself deserves plenty of shade for pissing about for about 2 decades barely writing anything and letting his series get finished badly by two hacks.
Every now and then I catch a clip of game of thrones and I remember those moments that were incredible. The type of scenes that give you chills because of how badass someone is or how tragic the loss of the character is. And then I remember the ending and where all those characters are heading and the show gets pushed out of my head again. This will always be the prime example of an ending completely ruining a show.

Season 4 is still my favorite, because Prince Oberyn remains my favorite character.
Tbf I think Bran will become King in the book, but it will actually be a dark ending since he's now some fucked up ancient tree God/spirit/thing or just a slave of Blood Raven (3 eyed Raven.) GRRM stated the ending would be bittersweet, and he constantly writes about hiveminds taking over in his other book series.
Can't believe this happened 5 years ago.

@@chilliinsanity6898 Wait, what?
@@DeimosPC Yeah it was confirmed in leaks over a year ago. The same leaks correctly predicted Arya leaping out of nowhere to kill the Night King, Cleganebowl: both die, Euron snipes Rhaegal, Dany goes mad queen when she hears the bells Jaime captured and Tyrion frees him, Lyanna dying and briefly becoming a white walker...all of it. I'd be more careful with spoilers, but nobody cares anymore because the season is shit and we all want it to just end... that, and Chilli Insanity already dropped a major spoiler. It is crazy how the best show with epic cast, epic story, epic character developement, show that almost everybody loved and was so good... went down so fast into shitshow that even the actors themselves do not want to talk about.
The Peter Dinklage clip at the end is the type of thing kidnappers make.

Okay, I need your advice. I have recently started watching GoT and now I’m really not sure if I should watch season 8 at all. Is it the whole season that’s so bad or just the final episode? Please no spoilers, I‘m in the middle of season 3 now.

Dinklage looks like a hostage reading a note from his kidnappers.
The worst part for a lot of these actors is they seemed to know how poorly received the season would be, and probably knew their careers would go down as collateral damage
I love Peter Dinklage. He gives the most scripted, professional answer in a deadpan voice, then rolls his eyes at the camera. Brilliant way to get the message across.
He should play hockey
Don't read into it. His paychecks stopped. He was at an event he probably didn't want to be at. You're projecting.

1:15 peter thinking more like original tyrion than tyrion in the actual show
cool beans It’s genuinely insulting how dumb they’ve made show Tyrion. He survived a battle of the minds in King’s Landing and yet he hasn’t made a single intelligent decision since. Gosh it must be painful to get those scripts.
YEP... This is a show where they needed to let the actors write the ending. Since they could no longer ride on the back of George RR Martin. Might have not been completely ruined had they "handed over the thrown" so to speak.... "Would they hand over their career to save a show?" No... The real twist is THEY are the mad writers.
Literally was screaming the same thing at my tv
To be fair the crypt turned out to be the safest place shown onscreen, it had the least amount of undead given that every shot of winterfell was just piles of dead....undead. The true safest place however turned out to be off screen with the thousands of troops that somehow survived to march south.

I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve watched this and it makes me so angry and happy every time. It sucks for the fans AND the actors because these people have spent literal years pouring their lives into these characters only to have the work they’ve done completely ignored and invalidated. Truly shameful on the part of the writers.

@@harshagrawal1056 You know it's bad when in seasons 6-8 the smartest thing you could do was to NOT listen to Tyrion. Tyrion didn't do one useful OR interesting thing in the later seasons. Cersei also went from interesting and to a generic "oooooohhhhhh I'm an evil bitch!" Jaime's "nah f this" with his redemption arc too was also a slap in the face. I wouldn't mind it so much if the final turn about was well written but it wasn't at all. Season 8 was probably the worst written seasons of any show period. 7 was on the list of worst written seasons. 6 was a mediocre season (wasn't too bad but wasn't great).
@@paynoattentionplease While I was sad to see him go back in Season 4, I could at least enjoy the fact that Tywin/Charles Dance left the show at it's peak. He did not suffer the same horrible writing as his children did in the later seasons.

But all of a sudden when he comes to Danaerys (a much more reasonable person) he becomes a wuss. Also Tyrion not being with girls?! That's friggin impossible. if they'd wanted to show that he's "matured" they should have at least given him a wife.
I can only imagine how stunned the actors were when they read the child-like script of Season 8.

@@avid4288 Bro, the ending and last 3 seasons are genuinely terrible. I'm afraid to say you just have low standards or poor taste. It is objectively awful writing, character development, and pacing. The 'Long Night' is done in 1 day, characters completely 180 their entire story arcs in a few scenes, and there is no payoff to anything. I’m watching it for the first time now. On season 2 and it’s been AMAZING so far. From what I’ve heard from fans the first 4 seasons are perfect. Seasons 5 and 6 and still good but have some cracks in the writing starting to show. And then seasons 7 and 8 are terrible.

You can tell Kit said that from the heart.
