- In this episode of Bro Labs, I do an experiment where I burn holes into my skin with a high-power laser pointer so nobody else has to! I decided to do this laser light test to find out just how much damage these lasers can cause and to determine if they can be used in self-defense.
WARNING: do not try this at home. These challenges are done with medically trained personnel on standby and after serious research is done on the devices used along with the potential injuries which may result.

I'll be completely honest and say that these laser pointers were much more powerful than I was expecting which caused me to get burned worse than I had originally planned. Luckily, I have a lot of experience with treating burns so I should heal up with no problems. Also, these laser pointers DO NOT cause cancer which is something I researched before filming.

Oh my that was probably very painful. I myself can make real lazers like these, but much stronger at an insane output. These Lazers here are the real thing the strongest lazers in the market rated a 2000mw-3000mw. I have some 7300mw Nubm44 at 470nm navy blue and can burn absolutely anything in seconds wood gets on fire. I also have 100,000mw Co2 lasers lol.

That wavelength does deep tissue penetration which is why the outside doesn't get burned too bad (it pretty much ignores the outer layer), but why it looks so bad later. If you used high frequency beams they would mostly burn the outer surface. Also that's part of why those blue ones are so dangerous for your eyes, it doesn't just do the outer layer of your eye that heals, it does deep tissue damage like the cones.

Several years ago I received laser treatment for tattoo removal and this reminded me of that. The laser they used for me made the same cackling noise that a tazer makes and you could literally smell your flesh burning as they slowly traced your tattoo and burned it away. I'm guessing this probably felt similar to that. Plus they don't give you any pain medication prior to doing the procedure because pain medication is almost always a blood thinner, which therefore would cause you to bleed a lot during the session which causes problems. Mine were an hour long for my chest piece tattoo and I can honestly say that to this day, it was probably the most painful thing I've ever experienced. Much worse than getting the tattoo by far and much worse than anything else I've felt before. It's hard to explain the sensation but for me it was almost as though I could feel the pain way deep down in like my actual bones. It penetrates your body and feels as if it's literally going straight through you. I often say that I wish I could zap someone for just a second to show them what it's like and then tell them to imagine laying on a table unable to move because they need you perfectly still and then taking that for an hour nonstop. It was really fucking difficult.

The humor and entertainment you bring while still often being inflicted with obviously painful injuries, even if they are all fairly minor in the end which is good, is commendable.
