    Antonio was sad in the 1st scene but it didn't quite explain why he was sad.
    i was thinking that did Solinario and Salanino is right that he's indeed in love with someone? If so, the cause of his sadness is about Bassanio getting married to Portia? So does Antonio really did have a happy ending?

      But when Antonio was sad at the beginning of the play he didn’t know about Bassanio’s hopes of marrying Portia yet.
