I decided to go on a Saona island excursion by catamaran and speed boat and it was an amazing experience that I highly recommend to anyone staying in Punta Cana.

The 1980 Blue Lagoon (with Brooke Shields and Chris Atkins) was filmed in Fiji on Nanuya Levu Island (AKA Turtle Island). The island is privately owned and only allows 11 couples to stay there at a time. You must be thinking of the 2012 film Blue Lagoon: The Awakening.

my wife and i honeymooned in the DR in 04 and were taken to swim in the blue lagoon filming location then watched the movie again and i can confirm this
