- Hotel on Sea is a light-hearted observational comedy/documentary series about the ups and downs of life in The President Hotel in Blackpool back in 2004.
This 62 bedroom hotel is owned by the glamorous and hard nosed business woman Mrs Liz Walsh, and has a colourful staff team of staff from Steff the drag-artist duty manager, Sandra the loud and chatty receptionist; Alan the deadpan general manager, to Les the grumpy chef.

This is like a hospitality version of 'The Office'.......where's David Brent?
I don't understand having the young lad on work experience. Are there not agencies where you can call up and get people, like nurses, chefs, etc. , or is the owner so cheap she wouldn't have wanted to pay?
There is plenty of agencies that provide hotels with staff. That hotel will have a bad reputation, and none of them will take work there. They’ve plenty to choose from
That Steff if you care to notice is GROOMING that young kid,and the documentary needs a good investigation.
Update : young Mark is now working as a sous chef in a Michelin star hotel in manchester

Victor, was just after his 15 minutes of fame clearly. I think Alan did quite well, considering he had a job to do on top of everything else. You would have thought the acting troupe, could have just written the part of the missing actor out of the non existent script......what a useless bunch of misfits!
Hi. I’m the main scriptwriter for the murder company & a lot of what happened was actually scripted for the show, to add more drama. There was a full weekend murder script written which was only partially shown in the episodes. Our murder company has been going for 30 years & we still put on events at other hotels. We all had a laugh together off camera & just thought I’d say ‘don’t believe everything you see on tv’. This was a funny series though. That’s me at 7:46 & ‘dead’ in the shower👍🏼

Victor is obnoxious and pompous. Alan is trying his best to keep everything going. It is the issue of the tour group that they have actors missing. Victor is just rude.

Why do the producers of the show get involved in the events they are supposed to be observing?
One of the actors is delay on a flight you see what happen wen you use easy jet nothing but problems use ba or Air France

@@tomgirldouble3249 lol, it's like me handing a 16 year old my shop keys and saying go run my business for a month, I was in Retail 10 years before I took over my 1st shop, I have to laugh at Kelly6739 comment looks like he would eat half the kitchen for breakfast lol and yes very poorly managed, I do know the hotel trade too as worked in it for long enough and my aunt and uncle had hotels and I worked in restaurants too before i really got into retail.It should be a chef tasting his food not an assistamt manager and a woman who speaks like a wet weekend lol

Stayed in this last year...was not impressed. Lift wasn't working and we
were on floor 6 with 7 flights of stairs to climb, food was distinctly
average and the dining room smelt of boiled cabbage, the bar, though
open had no staff serving and the staff that were all foreign and seemed
overworked. The so called cabaret consisted of one bloke singing over
backing tracks and the advertised bingo was cancelled. The lady on
reception though was a little gem and ended up rushing backwards and
forwards between the two bars and the dining room...poor thing totally
overworked. Non of the staff in this video were working there and i'm
wondering is the place under new management, the place is now looking
shabby and needs a makeover. The room we were in was acceptable though
and was worth the (low end) price we paid for it.
What do you expect for 34 quid a night?
