- Last week we previewed the Geecrack Bellows Gill in our Underwater Wednesday episode. A viewer responded to that video by asking if we would rig the bait using a hover rig from Core Tackle. Well, you asked for it! You got it! In today’s episode we’ll show you how these two unique pieces of fishing tackle pair up.

Great footage. I don't care for how the hook points downward most of the time. I believe this is caused by letting it drop on a fully slack line. Matt always talks about letting it down on a semi-slack line. If you look at your footage, there are times when you do this and the hook stays pointing upwards.
I also think the large plastic bait overpowers the Hover Rig a little, especially with all the grooves in it. They cause lots of air pockets which also make it unbalanced.
I probably would choose other plastics for the Hover Rig but if I did use the Bellows Gill, I'd have to have lots & lots of patience to fish it correctly.
Thank you for the work to get this info!
James, I agree with your observation about the hook and about the larger bait. I also agree that tight lining the fall would probably prevent that. I really appreciate your comments.
@@markfisheroutdoors No problem, Mark! Glad I could add a little observation of what I spotted in your pool filming.
Wow that looks amazing!
It does!
That looks like a great way to rig that Bellows Gill Mark. I love that it doesn't have the same fall and glides all over the place. I have never tried this bait, but it looks like I need to give it a try. Thanks for the underwater footage. I like to see what baits look like under water. I have used the Core Tackle TUSH rig on different swimbaits. That might be an idea for a future video. Thanks Mark.
Thanks Brad, check this episode from awhile back. I think you’ll like it!
