I wonder, even if Shin died during the Buu saga and they revived him later with the dragonballs, would Beerus come back to life as well? That could be a good 'what-if' path for a dragon ball GT story if Beerus stayed dead.
i don't think so their deaths may be tied together but that doesn't mean their births are, the kais are a single race whose only purpose to to be a kai, the gods of destruction are chosen from already existing mortal races in each universe as we know so far.
I don't think Shin was connected to Beerus here. I think it was old Kia in the Z-sword that was life linked to Beerus. Beerus got pissed off at him for some reason and decided that sealing him away was the best way to protect himself and get his kicks or whatever. The disappearance of the Supreme Kai caused an imbalance, and the tree that bears Kais to life started trying to fill in a perceived empty Supreme Kai position. But since Beerus was still connected to old Kai, the tree was confused and kept spitting out supreme Kai's to fill it and each one failed to link to Beerus which caused the loop to continue. This is why I think the universe had so many Supreme Kais, all of which had little education on what they are actually supposed to be doing. Beerus didn't care about them because they weren't linked to him, and no one was there to teach them otherwise. When old Kai passed his life force to Goku, is when the link passed from old Kai to Shin, and Beerus was properly linked to the new Supreme Kai.
The only consistency is toriyamas hate of vegeta as he makes vegeta lose every main battle even when it's clearly going to be his win especially the vegeta vs golden frieza and vegeta vs Moro toriyama really showed his I hate vegeta crap by giving frieza and Moro instant plot Armour at the end of there fights against vegeta.

But, the current Supreme Kai was one of 4 Kais, North, South, East, and West. And then there was Dai-Kaio above them (the fat guy Buu absorbed). This doesn't quite make sense...
Beerus would most likely be linked to the leader of the supreme Kai's Dai-Kaio But when Buu absorbed him, the link was severed, as him being now a part of Buu. And the link thus transferred to the last remaining supreme Kai, Shin.\ No death happened, so Beerus didn't die.

So what happens when the Supreme Kai role gets passed onto someone else? Does Beerus just lose his job? What about when Supreme Kai fuses? Is Beerus just... Like... Shoved into the nearest being with the ability to fuse and forcefully mixed with their body?
both questions were answered in the anime. >the title used to belong to the Old Kai that was trapped inside the sword, but Shin took over and it's mentioned in the anime that he and Beerus are now linked instead of Beerus and Old Kai >the fusion thing is irrelevant; they only share a life link. if Shin fuses with someone, then he is linked to that fusion, since it has Shin in it
if Frieza knew that, he probably would've went after the supreme kai before his training and then die, because the supreme kai is stronger than him. Frieza's father never warned him about the supreme Kai. that or he tries after his training, in which case, he could go to the realm of the kais. what's frieza gonna do then?
Biggest plot hole they created for the series 😂 Even if Beerus was asleep the entire time, you'd think Whis would wake him him and deal with the threat
Goku ALMOST did "kill" Beerus back in Z, when he was about to obliterate Shin as SS1, going to fight Majin Vegeta. And, let's not forget Majin Buu, who was even closer at accomplishing that.
As much as I enjoy Dragon Ball, this is a prime example as to why writing is not Toriyama's strong suit. I'd even go so far as to call it bad at times. In DBZ, there were multiple supreme kai's, most of which were either killed or absorbed by Buu. It's the reason fat Buu exists and why fat Buu is gentle when compared to the other iterations of Buu, because of the gentleness of the fat Supreme Kai that he absorbed. The point is, it's clear that the original idea was there were several Supreme Kai (4 I believe, one for each cardinal direction) to watch over the universe. In DBS however, it's clear this is no longer the case. Every universe has one Supreme Kai with a Destroyer linked to them. This would imply that Buu not only killed several Kais, but their associated Destroyers. Given what we know of Destroyers and the fact there are angels overseeing them, it's unlikely Buu would have been allowed to run rampant killing Kais without at least one Destroyer intervening. And what about the Destroyers linked to absorbed Kais? Are they still around? The answer is obviously no because those Kais and their never-have-existed Destroyers have been effectively retconned out of the story. Retconned is a bizarre word to describe it though, however accurate, because it's clear that Toriyama simply forgot they existed and it's not the only example of him forgetting details of his own work. I mean, what about when Toppo became a Destroyer in the ToP? Did a Supreme Kai pop into existence in that moment? It's sloppy. Now I'll admit that the existence of other Supreme Kais in DBZ was a relatively small, albeit incredibly important detail, only being explained in a few minutes within the context of (I believe) a single episode. Their implication however was extremely important to the story and the fact that their existence has been wiped from history due to poor lore management is the very definition of bad writing.
These scenes are a good reminder of how terrifying Goku is given the situation - Current Vegeta would side with Beerus about Whis casually revealing an opponent's weakness and also killing an innocent person that was not being a bother, especially with the guilt he experienced after the Majin Vegeta arc. Goku on the other hand, doesn't give a damn about the person who is literally the superseding god of their galaxy, who is part of the reason that Gohan got stronger, and who helped them defeat Buu to a small extent. Back when he was going to wipe out Supreme Kai for trying to prevent him from fighting Majin Vegeta, one could rationalize it as Goku being desperate to reach out to Vegeta whilst protecting innocent people, or failing that, at least giving Vegeta a warrior's death, which is why he refused to let anyone stand in his way... but even in a casual context he has zero sympathy for whether Supreme kai lives or dies
Given how so many of his opponents have usually boasted about themselves "being" supreme beings above others (like Freeza or Cell), he probably just decides that he doesn't care about their wellbeing the moment they declare themselves as "supreme" in ANY capacity as such, regardless of whether it's a title or whatever.
the fact that Goku even pointed out that he just has to beat the kaioshin to beat Beerus sounds like foreshadowing ... sometimes I get the impression that Goku is just playing the idiot in super all the time because there are so many threats around and he needs their guidance first. the weirdest interaction was when Goku wanted to press the zeno button, and Beerus threatened him and saying your naivity might be a bigger threat than lord zeno himself suddenly Goku's face and voice became serious like his old DBZ self for a moment while even the music switched to a serious tone.
Honestly it doesn't make sense, do they get "soul bonded" when the Destroyer takes up the position? What happens to the previous destroyer when a new one takes the office? Unless the candidate has to fight them to the death, but that also begs to question if killing the Destroyer kills the Supreme Kai
No concrete answers but the destroyers all seem to have been mortals a long time ago, I'd guess that there divinity is linked to the kai of there universe. The clown destroyer was training a replacement so I think they can retire and allow themselves to return to mortality
Yes killing beerus will kill shin it works both ways future zamasu killed future shin that why there's no beerus in future trunks timeline shin would also die if goku or frieza got strong enough to kill beerus.
@@robertharrison1058 I'm not sure about that I don't recall any mention of it working both ways, tho I'm pretty sure if it does work like that shin and the others aren't really worried about there respected destroyers getting killed since if they do get murdered the Kai would follow soon in either scenario
as shown by Old Kai and Shin, yes, when someone else takes up the role of Supreme Kai, the soul link also changes. Beerus sealed Old Kai in the Z-Sword, but when Shin took over, Beerus and Shin became linked - as evidenced by Future Trunks' timeline, where Beerus is dead because Goku Black killed Shin.

Buu really said, "Fuck cats, that's why I got a pup at home."
Buu: Buu is dog person👶
Beerus: *I don't like you* =_=
“I’d just have to get rid of Supreme Kai, and that’s it?”
Damn, goku made it sound so easy- 😂
Well it is
@@hutao3548 I’m aware, considering he almost killed him before
@@GeoedQueen The Kaios are also all relatively weak in all of the Universes. Imo its a terrible flaw considering how many people could just eradicate them with ease and also get rid of the god of destruction that way.
@@Surtr174 Yeah, but then a new Kai would just step up.
But it makes sense. To have a character be so strong and then have a huge weakness
@@GeoedQueen it's still a massive flaw considering how little the Kais are protected. Not just in universe 7s case. Plus Kais are very limited in Number. Buu already came close to killing Beerus as a result (and beerus stupidity with elder Kai also cut him off as a replacement should have shin also died).
And sure a Kai can be replaced. A god of destruction not so much. A Kai is just being born every X amount of years aprox but a God is tricky. You have to find a proper candidate who is capable of wielding the power of destruction, has the correct mindset and then also has to be trained and the proper potential.
Like in U7 the only option right now would be potentially vegeta. Freezer doesn't have the mindset and Goku does not want to be a destroyer.
It’s crazy seeing how close Buu was close to ending the universe.
Thats why he’s called a universal majin threat
A rare drawn together profile pic, love that episode. lol
I mean I like to think this was Bibidi's reason for going after the Kais in the first place.
Honestly i really like this. They give Beerus, the strongest force in the DB universe, a believable weakness that even ties back to an older character
Buu wasnt killing them after absorbing. He was feeding himself with their energy, so destroyers should live without problem. This same with Perfect Cell. Cell only killed people for their blood to get stronger, but after he got someone stronger he wanted to merge with them.
i think you have Cell a tiny bit off. only 17 and 18 would be absorbed, it was part of his programming. anyone else, consumed for biomass and energy.
@@pulsefel9210 yeah but what if cell goes back in time to fuse with himself?
@@youtubestudiosucks978 I think you should reread their comment
@@littlemoth4956 it's his own dna and he has both namekian cells for regeneration as saiyan cells to become stronger from being injured so he could get an infinite smoothy hax by drinking himself, giving himself endless energy and biomass
@@youtubestudiosucks978 Cell's goal of absorbing 17 and 18 was rooted in the fact that Dr Gero couldn't install the Infinite Energy Reactors into Cell himself. For Cell to become complete, he needed to integrate 17 and 18 because they each had the reactors built within them.
Two infinite energy reactors were required for the process.
Honestly I was expecting the scene from the World Martial Arts tournament; when Goku threatened to dome the kai, when he started getting in-between him and Vegeta! While Buu bouncing on Shin was probably close to killing him. I'm pretty sure he was closer to peeing his pants with SSJ Goku feet away charging that blast.
Yeah, I wish I had thought about that scene when I made the video 😅. I was just bored 😆
@@naus_edits it's cool. Just reminiscing epic moments, that's all

Relatable.
why imagine?
Leave it to Buu to start problems.
Imagine if beerus found out what buu did 💀💀
This only proves that buu was even MORE of a menance then the internet originally gave him credit for
Bro is part of the menace leader council and easily the elder
I wonder what Buu would become if he managed to eat Beerus
Wonder if it's even possible... I forget if Buu has a power limit or not to what he can absorb
Buurus?
We will never know because Beerus is a menace.
Only if he was sleeping lmao
Considering the jawbreaker incident, I'm not even sure if that's possible.
The time when Frieza finds out about this fact, the real smoke will start
🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐
I know the video is about Supreme Kai almost dying to Buu, and it's a really good point, but it's overshadowed by the sheer delight of the clip of Buu licking all the pudding to spite Beerus. God, I love Buu so much.
So that is why supreme Kai didn't die in Buu saga😂
If Freiza ever finds out about that it would be a big problem for Beerus
It's funny how beerus was asleep through all of that imagine if he was awake through the buu sage maybe he would of gotten his pudding then
Man if Frieza ever found out
supreme kai said he could defeat easily freeza, at the time of buu of course
@@malikplayman3520By this point Frieza could one-shot his Namek self in his first form so not the biggest accomplishment nowadays, especially with what happened with Frieza in the manga.
@@malikplayman3520Current frieza is the strongest(except beerus and whis, ofc) with his black form. He one shot UI goku and UE vegeta and I am sure he can thrash the Z-fighters too so, yeah.
Beerus is in trouble if frieza ever finds out.
If Akira Toriyama dies, we so too, became saddened. Unfortunately, it's time, he died at the age of 68. Rest in Peace legend, the whole world will remember you ✌🏻
Beerus had the same issue as any new superhero in the MCU now. Its always "where the FUCK were you when we all almost got wiped out by Thanos/Buu?!"
But we all know Beerus had a backup Kaioshin whom he sealed in Z-sword. xD
Exactly my thought.
Nah, doesn't work like that. Shin is the Supreme Kai. If he dies, Beerus dies with him immediately.
Makes me wonder when or if literally anyone will ever tell Beerus just how close he came to dying due to his naps.
Imagine that was the plan that Babadi and his father had this entire time . Kill off the supreme kai so Beerus won’t pop up to oppose him
my god the noise Buu makes at 1:04 fucking killed me
I like to imagine Beerus just had heart attacks every time the Supreme Kai was getting his ass kicked by Buu.
What a bad time for Beerus to sleep through everything that happened with Supreme Kai.
I wonder, even if Shin died during the Buu saga and they revived him later with the dragonballs, would Beerus come back to life as well? That could be a good 'what-if' path for a dragon ball GT story if Beerus stayed dead.
It worked for picollo and kami so it should work for shin and beerus too
i don't think so their deaths may be tied together but that doesn't mean their births are, the kais are a single race whose only purpose to to be a kai, the gods of destruction are chosen from already existing mortal races in each universe as we know so far.
I think it would go "Revive supreme Kai" = Beerus stays dead.
But "Revive everyone killed by Buu" = Beerus returns.
Knowing Goku as well as we do, there's nothing to worry about.
Yeah, except he might let it slip to, say, Vegeta.
Vegeta had major dad energy at the end. "These damn kids!"
These types of retcon make me roll my eyes so hard.
I like how that scene of Buu attacking the supreme was edited in here that was probably running through Goku's head during this conversation.
“That’s crazy! I mean not that I ever would…”
Yeah not like you had a Ki blast pointed right at Shin’s face at one point or anything lol
Toriyama makes long term fanfic writing hard because he keeps making shit up and adding new rules and dates!
Very funny and accurate 😂
I know u will reach 1k subs within 1 yr
Thank you for the support!
0:48 Ahhh damn it, you should have put the scene where Goku threatens to blast Shin instead. That would have been funnier, I think, even if out of context. But still W
So basically if you ever piss beerus off and want to save earth just hold Supreme Kai captive on earth
Buu is low key still the greatest threat in DB
Zeno>>
Goku: THERES NO FUN IN THAT
brother didn't even flinch that the option was off the table
“I CANT SIT DOWN FOR ONE SECOND!?!?!?”
-Vegita
I'd like to imagine Beerus woke up with a back ache and knew what happened when he woke up.
But didn't want to tell anyone that he almost died in his sleep like a grandpa so he kept it on the downlow.
Whis would probably have been watching but thought it too amusing to intervene
Imagine being to lazy to even save your own life
Goku says he wouldn't do it but if Supreme Kai didn't back down from him in the Buu Saga, he would have!
Bro was feeling them backshot fr😂
Buu licking all the pudding cups messes me up 🤣🤣🤣
But, the current Supreme Kai was one of 4 Kais, North, South, East, and West. And then there was Dai-Kaio above them (the fat guy Buu absorbed). This doesn't quite make sense...
Beerus would most likely be linked to the leader of the supreme Kai's Dai-Kaio
But when Buu absorbed him, the link was severed, as him being now a part of Buu.
And the link thus transferred to the last remaining supreme Kai, Shin.\
No death happened, so Beerus didn't die.
incidentally the reason buu is so dangerous is because it's not just the destroyer god that dies with the kais.. it's the entire universe.
than Zeno have to destroy the universe. because by the time he check it out. there's hardly any life in it anymore. and all he can see is a crazy child breaking everything in it's way.
@@rickydiscord7671 i was thinking more along the lines of supreme kai being the universe's life support and if he dies it just poofs into nothing on its own.
@@kamerondonaldson5976 that's the point. no life so Zeno have to clear the universe off. what's the point of a universe when there's no life?

Damn...Goku did almost get rid of Supreme Kai too. 😂
Just wait until Beerus finds out Goku almost killed Shin on purpose.
People don't seem to get that Beerus *chose* not to one shot Goku in their first fight.
Whis: "If the Supreme Kai of a universe dies then the Destroyer of that universe dies with him."
Goku: [Thinks back to the Buu Saga when he threatened the Supreme Kai]
I love the concept of SDBH SSJ3 Raditz. Jeez imagine Raditz decides to come back in that form and attacks the Supreme Kai knowing it would kill Beerus to kill him asking where Goku and the Dragon Balls to gain immortality and is threatening the Golden Great Ape since I imagine the Kais world is full of Bitz Waves and than Goku arrives, I would love that.
So what happens when the Supreme Kai role gets passed onto someone else? Does Beerus just lose his job? What about when Supreme Kai fuses? Is Beerus just... Like... Shoved into the nearest being with the ability to fuse and forcefully mixed with their body?
Probably nothing if we go by Namekian logic where Piccolo fusing with Nail literally had zero affect on Kami back on Earth, so....
both questions were answered in the anime.
>the title used to belong to the Old Kai that was trapped inside the sword, but Shin took over and it's mentioned in the anime that he and Beerus are now linked instead of Beerus and Old Kai
>the fusion thing is irrelevant; they only share a life link. if Shin fuses with someone, then he is linked to that fusion, since it has Shin in it
Imagine if frieza knew about this secret. He would already taken place of beerus 💀
if Frieza knew that, he probably would've went after the supreme kai before his training and then die, because the supreme kai is stronger than him.
Frieza's father never warned him about the supreme Kai.
that or he tries after his training, in which case, he could go to the realm of the kais.
what's frieza gonna do then?

Buu really just ate all of the puddings... while they were still in the glass cups. It's a good thing he can regenerate all those cuts
Lmao, that is incredibly funny. Poor Lord Beerus.
0:36 Should have spliced in the scene where Goku threatened to kill Shin in order to fight Majin Vegeta.
The amount of disrespect to lick every pudding cup was quite amusing
Wait, wouldn’t this explain why Beerus trapped the old Supreme Kai in the Z-Sword?
Basically he made his own horcrux
@@BioGoji-zm5ph hmm, I never considered that
the fact that Goku even pointed out that he just has to beat the kaioshin to beat Beerus sounds like foreshadowing ...
sometimes I get the impression that Goku is just playing the idiot in super all the time because there are so many threats around and he needs their guidance first.
the weirdest interaction was when Goku wanted to press the zeno button, and Beerus threatened him and saying your naivity might be a bigger threat than lord zeno himself suddenly Goku's face and voice became serious like his old DBZ self for a moment while even the music switched to a serious tone.
Damn he must've been having some restless nightmares that day lol
Beerus sealed Old Kai in the Z-Sword, but when Shin took over, Beerus and Shin became linked - as evidenced by Future Trunks' timeline, where Beerus is dead because Goku Black killed Shin.

youd have thought that when beerus heard of Buu's attack on the supreme kais of which shin was the only survivor that hed have become more diligent, maybe hakaid babbidi
