But isn't using Dyneema instead of Mono a bad idea? I think the Dyneema is too thick and heavy

I going to be using Dynemma for a trip to the sub tropics tougher than mono when pulled over coral. Otherwise I would stick with mono.

The only reason I like using mono in some situations is that it does not entangle. Else Dyneema is stronger (even stronger in break tests than similar diameter steel cables), mare abrasion resistant (as Matt says), and light weight.
