I got a pair of MBKs with my annual bonus this year and I’m loving them. I have noticed that my female, Nyx, wasn’t handled as much as Obie (male)… when she tail-rattles and musks at the same time… yeah… she gets some distance, but we’re working on it.
I have had one unexpected struggle… since they’re basically tubes at this point (no real thickest spot), I’m struggling to know when to increase their prey size.
Generally, you want to give them something slightly thicker than their body :)
I have a california mountain kingsnake. Havent seen any care videos or anything on how to best care for them. Ive just been trying my best to recreate its natural habitat as best i can, do you know of any california mountain kingsnake videos, or tips, etc?
I haven't personally had any experience with them, but would imagine that if they follow most Kingsnake care, it should be similar.
However, I would maybe look on Facebook and see if you can find any other keepers!
One of the many reasons I appreciate my king snake is because when my hoggie is on a hunger strike he'll eat what my hoggie won't 😂.
Also my dude is super active so when my hoggies are hiding he's usually out and about to watch ! So much fun!
Same here. We have a rosy boa and a hognose and if either one refuses I know our MBK Emily will take care of the pinkies.
They are the best little garbage disposals hahaha
