    This Mod 5 Cab Sim + DI Patch Bay might be just the ticket for players wanting a DI/IR solution for their rigs. It's easy to install and use and you can load your own IR's into it. In fact, last time I looked there was a free package of 29 IR's by Mooer up for grabs on the Rockboard site. Ace!
    "The RockBoard® MOD 5 Cab SIM + DI Patchbay offers customizable, IR-based stereo speaker cabinet simulation, an active DI box, as well as a simple solution to organize all the connections to and from your effects setup. Whether you are using a RockBoard® or any other brand pedalboard - the MOD 5 will open completely new possibilities. The speaker cab simulation & DI let's you go direct, providing YOUR sound, whatever backline is being provided at the venue you're playing. You want to use your favorite cab? No problem, load an impulse response of its sound into the MOD 5 and you have it with you, wherever you go. The patchbay part is designed to route connections from underneath your pedalboard to its front, in order to give you a central access point to your setup and tidy up your connections. For silent and on the road practicing, the MOD 5 also provides a headphone amplifier with adjustable output volume."

    Warwick/Rockboard is definitely moving the ball forward in the pedalboard trade. Tis about time someone thought about the boards and what could actually be done with them. Brett, I can't think of anyone better to do this demo.

    Hi, Brett! Can it send both output signals simultaneously (XLR Cab Sim + Parallel Out without Cab Sim at the same time) or is it just one or the other? Thank you so much in advance!

    Itd be nice if u did a clean channel of all the IRs … idk why everyone who reviewed this goes straight to distortion people play clean too …

    Hi. If i want to have to outs. One going to an amp, and the xlr direct to PA. How can this be achieved? I dont use 4 cable method btw. Thanks!

      The parallel out goes to your amp if needed. It is instrument level and does not provide the cab sim. Only the XLR and headphone jacks have the cab sim. If you want an instrument cable out of a cab sim unit you would need a Mooer Radar instead. But I think the parallel out and XLR out can work at the same time, cab sim going via XLR to the desk and parallel out going to your amp. If you are using 4CM you just connect the parallel out to your effects loop return. But basically the last cable to the amp goes via the parallel out

    Is there an amp modeler in this

  • @GuitarAge
    @GuitarAge Před 3 lety

    Nice idea but I also think there's a clean preamp missing in Mod5 device or in current pedal chain.

    Probably a stupid question...don't you need a amp sim to go direct in front of house?

    Hi Brett,
    Thanks for the demo!
    You mentioned it can do either Mono or Stereo, but therer's only one XLR??
    How does that work?
    Thanks.

      @@Open_Eyes_Open_Heart - So a cable with 1 XLR to 2 TRS Jacks?
      Thanks.

      @@GuitarNTabs Use a 1/4" TRS to dual 1/4" TS patch cable to output your left 1/4" TS signal and right 1/4" TS signal into one stereo1/4" TRS that you plug into the IR/DI jack on the back side of the Mod 5. Switch the mono/stereo switch to "stereo." Line out with an XLR cable to the board, and switch the balanced/unbalanced to "unbalanced" and if you encounter noise, engage the ground lift.

      Actually that's on the back of the unit. Search for it on Google and you'll see the switch ;)

    Has anyone connected this to a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2? I'm finding that connecting via XLR is causing the interface to clip even at the lowest level. I'm also using a Mooer M009 Blacknight Micro Preamp in L3 of my Boss MS-3.

    • @Sperzel
      @Sperzel Před 3 lety

      You need to pad the signal down somehow. Either with a DI-box or an interface with built in padding.

    How it compare to the rev20 especially on clean ?

      I've never tried any of the Rev stuff. Couldn't comment.

      I find it better this way. Otherwise you would have two different power supplys on the board and need two power cables

    so is there no amp modelling and everything in the cab IR. Sorry if this is a dumb question.

    • @BrettKingman
      @BrettKingman  Před 4 lety +1

      Not a dumb question at all. No amp modelling is correct; just the cab IR. However your dirt pedals provide an ample preamp. Works great, I think.

      You could also use a Mooer Micro Preamp pedal like the Blacknight or UK Gold.

    Does it do stereo over a single XLR?

    • @wulf67
      @wulf67 Před 2 lety

      Yes. L & R TS into TRS patch cable into IR/DI input jack, switch to stereo, unbalanced, and engage ground lift if necessary. XLR line out is unbalanced stereo signal, hence the ground lift option.
