This band knows no genre, all four of them are songwriters, all have different tastes in music and all have had number 1 hits. Every Queen song is different, you can always tell it is them because of the vocals and the sound of the guitars but they play all kinds of music. Each one is an incredible musician and rated in the top of their field. The talent in this band is beyond believable. Thank you for your reaction. All real music and vocals, no autotune back then and no computerized recording. All of this was done on analog tape and probably with only 16 tracks to work with.
Welcome to the world of Queen! Queen is a British rock group founded in the early 1970's. The members are: Freddie Mercury, lead vocals and piano, he also occasionally plays guitar; Sir Dr. Brian May, lead guitar, sometimes piano and keyboard, background vocals; Roger Taylor, drum and background vocals; John Deacon, bass guitar and other instruments, rarely sings background vocals. All four are collage graduates, Freddie in fashion and graphic design, Brian has a PhD in astrophysics and has worked with NASA, he was Knighted several months ago, Roger has a degree in biology and was studying to be a dentist, John has an advanced degree in electrical engineering. They have all written hit songs and are all in the song writers Hall of Fame, individually and as a group. That is only Freddie's voice you hear during the introduction. He recorded multiple times, harmonizing with himself. Other portions are all the vocalists of the group recorded multiple times, layering the tracks so many times the tape became nearly transparent. This video is considered by many to be the "first" music video. It was made to promote the song on TV shows while the band was on tour. Older videos you will see today that were made before BoRap were simpley television appearances that were recorded, portions of concert footage or outtakes from movies. There was no MTV until the early 1980's. And no autotune until the 1990's. You really had to know how to sing. If you do more reactions to Queen you might want to start with "Somebody to Love" 1981 in Montreal, "Who Wants to Live Forever" 1986 at Wembley Stadium, "Another One Bites the Dust" official video or any live performance you run across, and after you have checked out a few songs, watch the complete Queen set at Live Aid 1985. Live aid is about 20 minutes long. Do the one with the two London "policemen" at the beginning, it's about 22 minutes long I think. There is a slightly shorter version a lot of people have been reacting to, but it cuts the last song off early. And, yes, Queen did "We Are the Champions". They also did "We Will Rock You".
Nice reaction! It always warms my heart and gives me hope when the younger generations explore music from the past. Keep it up! Bohemian Rhapsody, was released in 1975 on the album "A Night at the Opera" which should give y'all a hint as to the musical genre. Freddie Mercury was a huge fan of opera so this song was written as an operatic suite consisting of five distinct parts: an a capella intro, a ballad segment, an operatic passage, a hard rock section, and a reflective coda. Generally it is classified as rock-and-roll, but specifically as a "rock opera" and "progressive rock." "Bohemian" describes an unconventional, artistic style with freedom and individuality as key elements. "Rhapsody" in musical composition refers to a single work comprised of episodic, diverse pieces arranged into a free-flowing structure. This song came to be because Freddie had pieces of songs he never completed, so he put them together, each section totally different yet masterfully blended into a truly epic masterpiece. It is the band's magnum opus, and is unanimously considered one of the best songs ever written. As for the meaning of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody", Freddie was purposefully vague. As with most of the greatest songs, the lyrics are poetic and mysterious. The meaning is open to interpretation for each listener to decide, based on how the music and lyrics touched them.
Actually, this was not the "thing" back in the days. This is frequently considered as the first music video ever (though there's been some debate about that). It was made to fill in for them when they weren't able to appear on a live TV show on British TV.
Great reaction, thank you! This is the greatest live band ever, IMHO. Their live performances are unmatched but this video is not live. The more Queen you listen to, the bigger the fan you will be. They are addicting to watch, especially Freddie, the lead singer. You have heard a lot of Queen songs and just don't know it. Check out Under Pressure live at Wembley 1986, Saturday performance or Another One Bites The Dust live at Wembley 1986, same concert. Queen does not disappoint! This video is largely credited for launching MTV and changing the way the music business promotes music.
To add to Donna's suggestion, make sure to choose the longer version of Live Aid. "We Are The Champions" is the last song of the set and you don't want to cut that short!! (We know it's 20 minutes but it will go by FAST!) The 1981 Montreal concert is a favorite because of the high quality video for its time. BoRhap from that show was great! The studio version of "Somebody to Love" is lovely and very different from the live version. You'll find that to be the case with a lot of Queen songs. So, in most cases, its quite entertaining to listen to both. Cheers!
No, we don't like them, we love them and have for about 50 years! Nice reaction and if you don't check out more Queen, you are missing out on some of the greatest music of our time!😊❤👑
Queen introduced Opera with Rock n' Roll and everyone loved it. Their manager refused to release it as a single and felt it was too long and noone would play it, so he was fired.
We Are The Champions, they play it at sporting events all over the world so you definitely know it. Queen was totally unique, even back in the seventies. Again, like the Zeppelin song, it's the studio recording cleverly edited with live footage.
Thx for this reaction, one of the best songs ever by the world’s greatest ever band. Yes, further to previous comments pls do Somebody To Love live at Montreal, it’s brilliant! Welcome to going down the Queen rabbit hole, it’s a journey you won’t regret, just remember the golden rule, never ever pause during a Brian May guitar solo or the Queen army will not be impressed!!🤣 Great work, love from Australia 🇦🇺
This song is beautiful. It’s about Freddie (lead singer) wrote this song as a metaphor. At this time he was wanting to come out as gay and the man he killed was his previous self. Absolutely love your reactions thank you 🙏🏻
Si quieres ver talento infinito en un escenario, con sólo cuatros hombres y cuatro instrumentos, deberías ver Somebody to love, live en Montreal '81. No te arrepentirás.
Go down the rabbit hole. Liar, Under pressure. Dragon attack. Breakthrough Somebody to love, at Wembley another one bites the dust. We will rock you We are the champions.
In the old days, we didn't have internet or mobile phones. But we had Mtv. All artists who wanted to break through had to have a good video in the 80s.
Exactly the same comment as below - and I subscribed and liked -and suggest Somebody To Love in Montreal - - and "Save me" from the same concert. If you go on reacting to Queen you will get a lot of subscribers!!
You are both right...there is an argument...the argument is within the young man that "just killed a man." He is fighting within himself about what he should do after he "killed a man." His conscience is fighting.
In 70's prog rock it was very common for the songs to be longer, tell a story and consist of several parts. For example, the song "Karn Evil 9" by Emerson Lake and Palmer (all parts together) lasts almost half an hour. If this makes you curious, here is the link: czcams.com/video/YKeZBUUiFL8/video.html
Next BOHEMIAN RAPSHODY FULL COVER by PUTRI ARIANI, RECEIVED GILDEN BUZZER in AGT 2023 , she come from INDONESIA 🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩. Lets go brother do reaction.....good luck.🙏🇮🇩
Small suggestion, yall may wanna spin The video back 3 seconds or so when yall stop so you can feel where the track goin after yall pause. Bein its a 1st time reaction I can't fault you for a pause but sometimes you may loose the feeling of the video/song when it's paused and come directly back. All love and just my 2 cents ❤
No rock band from the, late 60's - the early 80's, (this song '75) should have their work remastered from someone of the later eras. They use auto-tune, which completely ruins the range and originality of their true sound.
Hey guess what some proper musical content instead of angry person learns multiplication tables in animated way no auto tune actual ability to play and video was by accident .made for a very nominal amount by standards now

If Freddie had lived longer, they'dve done a Rap song ;)
They did lol Surely Dragon Attack?

There’s only one band and ONE MAN that should ever sing this masterpiece and he’s been gone for thirty years now. ❤

it is nice to see the reactors actually playing close attention to the actual video instead of watching the camera. Love the reaction.
