ABOUT US:
We’re traveling full time, living on our own terms and showing you the up-close-and-personal details of us figuring it out along the way. Sometimes it’s about navigating big, life-altering decisions. Sometimes it’s about navigating the seemingly lawless free-for-all that is driving in Hanoi. It’s moments of triumph and moments of panic. The good, the bad, the ugly - and most importantly, the real and real funny.
We’re not here to tell you “how it’s done.” Just how we’ve done it. And that whatever it is that’s calling you - the way you’ll do it is much more attainable than it may seem. We believe the world’s a more interesting place when people reject convention in favor of what they actually care about. This is us putting that idea to the test - one budget spreadsheet, RV renovation and mountain-peak drone video at a time.
Thanks everyone for all the sciatica/back info! We were able to find a chiro in Sayulita and went this morning. Tim is able to actually walk around now (although bent over like an ancient wizard or something). Hoping on a miracle recovery by tomorrow!
Daily pigeon stretches help! Just google it and hold it for a minute each side. Helps stretch the muscles around the sciatic nerve!
Oh good - I was going to suggest chiro! I have a recurring problem with my sciatic. Muscle relaxers and pain pills are helpful as well as something to help the inflammation. Also, get one of those gel packs that you can freeze that are made for injuries - not the kind for your lunch box! About your hair - at first out in the sun it was looking really red at the roots and ashy on the ends but when you went indoors it looked really nice. I think it looks great!
Haha I think it is still pretty warm up top and ashy on the ends. Will have to tone it all up a bit soon I think
If you have sciatica, it won’t be better anytime soon.
@@markm5174 I concur. I've had some bad injuries, the sciatica is like longest lasting..many years now. Off and on..some days worse than others
Watched and hooked. Found myself watching your videos for almost 48 hours and feel I wanna pack my backpack and get lost

I can relate to the Sciatic nerve pain and is terrible, I hope TIM is doing better.
I am! Thank you! Been stretching like a maniac and even started strengthening exercises already. I've been laser focused on this.
I like the hair!!! Looks super good on you!!
Nice! Enjoy!
Your Spanish is great!! You look beautiful with your new hair
Hair looks great. It really brings out your eyes.
I have bad memories of Puerto Vallarta...mainly because my husband hurt his back in the pool...his sciatica nerve has acted up ever since😣. The best remedy for him has been a good chiropractor and acupuncture. He suffered for a long time until he found the right people.
The highlight of that trip was finding Sayulita...
First time here👍...
Tim...I too struggle with sciatica....I have found a yoga wheel about 15 to 16" in diameter is useful for stretching the lower vertebrae and also rolling up and down the spine....you have it under your back, looking up at the ceiling with hands and feet spread for balance as you roll your spine back and forth over it ...hips to shoulders and back down to hips. You might give it a try. Safe travels.
First, I had a bad sciatic nerve episode two years ago. Two very good massages along the nerve by a physical therapist got rid of the pain. She said Planks are your best friend to prevent reoccurence. Two, your colour looks great. Three, very interested in the Spanish learning story. I'm enjoying your adventures, thanks for including us.
Thanks for the planks info! It's gonna be a rebuilding process.
It’s been two months so I assume you’ve already learned about yoga hip opener poses to cure sciatica. Free, easy, and feels good. Never a problem again if you stay consistent. Take it from an EX sufferer.
The darker hair really makes your eyes pop. Something to consider when dying hair darker is that any exposure to the sun turns it brassy red, so consider a sun hat for bright daylight. You’ll notice my long dark locks, so I have a lot of experience in this area.
$1500 per month is very expensive for Mexico. You can get a rental near the beach in nearby Lo de Marcos for between $500-$750. Mo. But if money isn’t tight then just enjoy.
I SUPER loved that outdoor restaurant seating area at the end.
Thanks for the info- always adding "stretches" to my repertoire. As for the Airbnbs.....we got up to $2500 a month in Sayulita and still had to deal with a lot of negatives before we decided that maybe this wasn't "it". It's a party town through and through and we just had the wrong expectations of a peaceful beach town.
Beautiful hair & enjoying re-finding you...
Que disfrutes su estancia en México felicidades
i have sciatic nerve pain a lot and something that i've felt is helpful is yoga, either on my own or in class! lots of stretches to the opposite side of the pain as well as down dog and forward folds :) love your channel!!
Hey Brianne- It's been a pain in the butt (literally) but plenty of stretching is the only solution. When we get back to Sayulita I'm finally signing up for real yoga classes and excited to start.
Your spanish is super good, saludos de querétaro mx.
Woo! Amamos a Querétaro!
by the way Fin your spanish accent is really good...so awesome...get tim to learn too. lol
Nice videos guys
Gracias por visitar Mexico 🇲🇽 y estás muy bonita 👍
Yes I want to hear more about your Spanish speaking story. I've been wanting to learn Spanish!
More Mexico!
Central Mexico is amazing!
Plenty more Mexico to come. We're just getting started.

I loved seeing the condensed milk next to coffee in the store. It’s so yummy to stir in condensed milk instead of creamer for delishhhh coffee!!
Thats the secret on the vietnamese coffee we love so much! they add a ton of condensed milk!
TIM and FIN it’s SOOO good! And sticking a spoon covered in condensed milk then watching it melt off in the coffee is SOOO pleasing hahah
I’m in Sayulita right now and it would be cool to meet you
I found your Channel about 3 weeks ago and fell in love with your videos on CZcams after the first two videos that I watched I became a member and been a steady follower ever since CZcams has got me hooked on you videos and I like you here by the way I hope Tim's back gets better I'm a fan now so I'll be alone for the ride

Hi Guys! been following you since florida! Love your channel ! Fin, you could be bald and still be beautiful. Good color on the locks! Tim, You need rest, I know that's hard to do, but it's best for your recovery. Bit pricey on the AirB&B but only a month, so enjoy. the street life is awesome! and soooo convenient. people watching and I would take that life over ANY resort. culture, foods, locals, life as it should be!
Guadalajara is beautiful too. I dated a gal who lived in San Diego, and was from there. she LOVED it. Highway 70 is a great ride and keep your camera handy, lots of good pics from the roadside. watch out for Cattle!
We'll be ready for the roadtrip! Making the drive on Tuesday and excited to see some new areas.
Just found your channel and I'm enjoying it. We love in Florida and travel in our RV in the summer. We also have a house between Punta Mita and Sayulita. I have a great doctor at the pharmacy in El Anclote, if Tim still needs it. Your hair looks great. We love that area. Hope your enjoying it. I love seeing the town in your videos.
Aw thanks for the help! We’ll reach back out if Tim needs something. Thanks!
Loved this video and your hair is gorgeous! Your inner beauty shines through, regardless! More videos like this (just the ‘day of our life’ style) would be great! Continued safe travels!
Message me if you want any sciatica suggestions. I work at a holistic functional neurology and chiro practice in Cali ✨💛✨
Great video, and your Spanish is great. 👌🏻 saludos de Vail, Colorado under a 14” blanket of snow lol
I'm so jealous! You guys have been getting pounded this year with snow! I used to live/work over in Avon at Beaver Creek for a season post college!
Hey there I also have sciatica and sometimes it rears its ugly head at the worst times. When mine flares up I have a ice pack in the freezer that I put on my back for 20 minutes then you're supposed to use heat for 20 minutes ...and keep alternating maybe two rounds each. I concentrate mine on where it stems from like mine is between the 3rd and 4th lumbar which is more toward the bottom of my back .. so depending on where yours is concentrated there. It's not a miracle cure it ... sometimes it works quicker than other times ... but sometimes the next day I'm better sometimes it takes a couple of days... and watch how you move while you're trying to get it to feel better. I really do hope this helps .... it's very painful and debilitating...good luck to ya
Resting a day and then doing appropriate back excercises can help, if it is a bulging disc in lower back. Only do the right excercises. Do not know any links for that. Do not make the back hurt more and if you take pain killers do not let that allow you to do things to further injure/irritate the nerve. Walk when you can, laying around to long can make things worse. Since I do not know what is causing the pain, none of this may work.
First of all, love your vlogs, and love the hair! Also can validate Mexico is such a gem to us americans, its so close!! I do most of my visits on East coast, yucatan, but the culture, the food, the language, the weather, its all sooo beautiful!
Now for your sciatic pain: Being a yoga teacher for over 30 years, you are now a life long member of the sciatica club, meaning, it will be with you for life. As mentioned, low-inflammatory diets will def. help, as well as daily stretches, those listed by Gary Lewis lookd great. I would add pigeon (or swan its called sometimes) you can google or youtube find it. And eventually, you need to find the exact movements/stretches that fix you, and do them every day for the rest of your life. When you find the perfect "tim-stretch" you literally need to hold it for like 2 minutes and breathe deeply visualizing things softening and opening. I truly hope its not a disc issue for you in your lower back, as those are not as easily "fixable" AND as an athlete, this is super common, in fact, there are no athletes that don't escape some kind of injury they then have to deal with for life, so welcome to your body as full blown adult-user!! Stretch, move, diet and awareness dude. Best.
Hey Steph! Thanks for such thoughtful words-I did realize that this means a bit of a lifestyle change going forward. The good news is that I've always been someone who goes to the gym- this is just adding a twist on my fitness routine. I'm already MUCH better only a week later from snowboarding but still in a lot of pain- especially in the mornings.
I think stretching and yoga is going to be morning routine for me going forward. After spending so much time readying different opinions online I think the takeaway is exactly what you said- you need to take care of yourself in a new way that acknowledges the problem.
great video
Wow hair look good they did a great job ! Look like its your natural hair color
Fin, how you look is something you shouldn't worry about. your hair looks beautiful blond or brunette, you are just beautiful.
Love the hair ❤️
Guerita bonita, con o sin cabello cafe, se ve bien. Tu carisma brilla mas! Felicidades y ese Tim desperto cansado...jiji👍
Woow they did a good job on your hair.!!
love the hair color!
Nice video, and also very good when you spoke Spanish clear, I can call it A+ because you can move on easily in any Latin American country. But I think the rent was expensive, I don’t know Sayulita the house looks nice but still thinking is expensive. You look so pretty with either color on your hair, and the funny thing was when you try to suggest to Tim if he can see something new with your hair, some men as us can’t realize right away the new changes on the look of the girls, but he saw it. I’m new on your channel and I like the way you went through showing different places. But I was wondering when you said let’s go to see some stores if they sale the same products as USA and surprise as you said you came to
México because was close, you find the same brands and the local ones, your doggie so cute. Take care 👍🏼🙏🏼🇲🇽🇺🇸
When in Guadalajara try to Visit carnes en su jugo Tito sooooo good !
Thanks for the recommendation!
Oh yeah Timmy looks all surfed out what a dork
Beautiful hair!!!!!🇨🇦🤗
Your hair is beautiful
Love sayulita
Love the hair
Fin your new hair colour looks fab! ;)
if you are driving from Sayulita to Guadalajara, you have to stop at Compostela, try los raspados
Gracias!
Guilty! I was watching Pepper. Lol!
Your hair looks amazing 😉
Saludos 🖐.
Loved the video ,Love the hair color!!! Did Tim like it? or Notice it?
Haha nope neither but I think it’s growing on him 😏
Me gusta tu alegría por la vida
This used to be a sleepy fishing village with surfing that wasn't super challenging. Sure has changed.
Yep. Everyone has scoped it out now. Not a fan anymore. Went two years in low season and it was packed. Planned on staying for a week and left after a couple days. Lots of people love it but when you are surrounded by yoga and frappacinos it doesn't feel like Mexico anymore
Thanks for commenting on the cash vs credit card use issue. This is a generational issue, why us older folk are better at managing funds, we worked hard to acquire, save, used it as needed and mostly in cash form! So when one sees the fruits of one's labor leaving, one tends to use better judgment when spending it. Where is the bike? Enjoy your effort to speak spanish, good job. If you find a good neuro to tend to tim's back, advise. Godspeed.
oh my a corner store lol i never seen one before
Sciatica - about 8 yrs, 1 operation, many procedures later - be careful Tim. Look into holistic as opposed to big pharma. Wild lettuce and Kratum for pain, colloidal minerals seem to help with calcium &collagen. Idk...its terrible pain
What is the name of the apartment where you are living? How much is the rent? Do they do monthly rentals?
This is my first time watching a video of yours and totally loved it :) I am going to Sayulita next month by any chance can you share the link for that airbnb apartment? I would love to stay there to get the card for free drinks lol :) Loved your video and your hair :) You rock
For sure! It's up above in the description under "Sayulita Listing". We'll be back there in April!
Ok Allison...thanks for doing this video, as you did a fine job on showing what you wanted, leading us to even more questions perhaps, but it's great learning about your trip generally, as well as how things differ in the places you go. Love the hair, but as someone else mentioned, blonde looks great on you as well! With your quick trip into Oxxo, it looked as if the eggs where not in a fridge type state, as you'd find them in the US. and Canada? I know you had mentioned 'street food', and I personally have only been to the Cancun region four times, and was told to 'never' eat the street food, and I often saw vendors with open food that had a ton of flies on it, so I've never done so, but perhaps it's not always that way in all areas? I believe I remember on another of your trips/video's, where you where sick, and wondered if it was food related? I assume 'healthy' food choices are available if you look, and knowing the language most definitely helps there, as my Spanish is Zippo! Oh, other than Caliente' ...I think. lol. Great editing Allison...perfect timing for the music choices!
Love the colours of Sayulita when you where showing the video at dusk...as well as thanks for the tour of your home! Never worry about how things are set up, such as the bed being perfect, or pillows on a couch...most of us don't live in a perfect world either Allison. Hoping Tim is better soon, as many of us have lived with Siatica issues at one time or another....as I can still remember 15 years or so ago, where my wife honestly had to crawl on the floor to get around the house...tough with 2 young kids indeed! Enjoy your time, and we look forward to your next adventure, albeit, a little sad the RV adventure ended so soon, as that's what 'we're' up to at the moment...albeit, not full-timing. Cheers to you both!
As always, thanks for watching Dale!
Hey for a super different Mexican vibe you guys should go to Monterey Nuevo León it’s actually a really modern city
I did the same thing one time...my old boyfriend shaved his mustache and didn't tell me. He had to ask me if I noticed something different about him. I felt so badly, but he was handsome either way, lol.
Maybe you can ask some locals that you know if they are familiar with a good chiropractor in the area? Surf the internet and see how you feel about the benefits of having a spinal adjustment and how that may benefit sciatica.
