#10 toxicity....metallic taste in your mouth. I told a Dr. years ago that whenever I was around chemicals I would get this taste in my mouth like I had just licked a tin can. Our entire family (of 4) had multiple symptoms that were caused by hydrocarbon poisoning (our oil tank filter leaked directly into the crawlspace of our home...3-4 feet deep saturated in the red clay). What a nightmare. We are a lot less sensitive to chemicals now as that was 25 years ago.
I have issues when I use baking soda for oral hygiene. And, if I become dehydrated. Thank you for all the helpful tips.

Medications can throw off tastes. My blood thinner threw off my taste temporarily. That being said,food actually tastes better now that I don't consume sugars and carbs.

Hello Dr. Berg, can you please provide us with more in depth explanation regarding “KEFIR WATER”? I reside in the Philippines and my friends and family drink it with a ratio around 4 parts water, 1 part kefir grains & 1 part muscovado (cane sugar). All we know is it’s an ancient drink made by shepherds a long time ago using fermentation and is supposed to be very healthy for the gut and supposedly without any side effects. Please educate us properly regarding this if you can. And what is kefir exactly? Is it a mushroom? A bacteria? Please make a video about this.

Had a mate with a metallic taste in her mouth. Advised her to get blood work done for I suspected since she stopped consuming meat her B12 - not getting or not consuming enough. Sure enough she had a vitamin B12 deficiency. The metallic taste went away after incorporating B12 in her diet. Do note: there are other causes of a metallic taste in ones mouth. Kidney failure, sinus infections, women's hormones - pregnacy, iron supplements and other medications, chemo to name a few.
Zinc overdose. Tasted like I'd been chewing galvanized pipes.

Yes! When I went low carb, I had that horrible taste in my throat/back of my tongue!! It did go away but for several weeks to around a month it was very discerning. So glad that’s done.

Hello Dr.Berg. Can you talk about when blood test for vitamin sometimes doesn’t show up in test results.
My 5 yo son had his tonsils removed and 2 days later he had thick white stuff on his tongue and when he would spit, his saliva was thick like syrup. I had never seen thrush before so I called the dr and they (stupidly) told me they had no idea and just said to carefully brush his tongue. Well his tongue bled immediately and he cried from pain and I didn’t even hardly brush. So then I decided to treat it like thrush anyway even tho I wasn’t sure since he’d been on antibiotics for the tonsil surgery. I opened a probiotic pill and put it in a glass of water and had him swish it around. Within an hour his tongue was back to normal - no white stuff

my wife suffers from something called Burning mouth syndrome, a burning sensation in the mouth tongue and lips aggravated by certain things but constant, a metallic taste in her mouth as well. Her blood work came back normal but through her own research has found that 3 things contribute greatly to this... if you are a Women, over 50, and menopausal(of which she has been for 6 years now!) Oh my goodness ever since I was diagnosed with diabetes about four years ago I’ve had the worst taste in my mouth and an abundance of saliva.
Some days are worse than others, but it is generally an annoyance.

I was poisoned by a neighbors perfume that she was wearing and for months I had migraines. I washed all my bedding and clothes and hair etc etc. for months I could still smell it but there was perfume anywhere. I detoxed say few times a week with coconut oil pulling and Epsom salt baths. Even hot lemon water. Then one day out of nowhere my mouth feels like someone poured that same perfume in my mouth. It lasted over a week. Again I continued the detoxes mentioned above. A month later and no more phantom perfume smells or perfume taste in my mouth

Years ago I had this metallic taste in my mouth for several months then my appendix ruptured. Went away after that.
My "odd taste" is sweet! Back of the mouth, daily. Especially in the morning. I'm not complaining. I've had the "too much zinc" flavor before and the "what's rotten?"...
I also have a Very Sick Liver (HCV for 50 years) that won't tolerate very much of anything, but doesn't seem to mind fasting and cruciferous vegetables.
You need to take bile salts for your liver.
Apple cider vinegar would be a first step I'd think. He has quite a few videos on this.

Betaine HCL taken with meals helps the burn, and I suspect it's H. Pylorii that is the culprit in this case, since it will actively suppress the acid production when it takes over.

Hey Dr Eric. Thanks for the content. What about if you have GERD and Gastritis? I have a terrible consistent taste of oranges in my mouth and I have pain on the upper right side of my gut and also a lot of acid-like sensations. It feels like I had too much orange juice or alcohol. Doctors haven't found anything wrong with my liver or gallbladder. Just inflammation in my stomach. Hence my concern. Not sure what to do here.

Before I went keto I couldn’t tolerate ACV; it seemed to aggravate the Candida. But now I’m on Keto and doing IF the ACV is helping heaps.

I have the weirdest thing, wondered if anyone can help me out. It started last night with a kebab my wife made, I usually love them but the meat tasted so sour and burnt my chest and stomach that I could only eat a tiny bit, it was like a chemically sour taste and disgusting. I figured it was something in maybe the sauce or onions or something. Anyway tonight we worked late and so we ordered something for delivery and im not mega hungry so ordered chicken nuggets and chips, I love them as a quick snacky dinner. The exact same taste I got from that kebab last night, I got from the chicken nuggets just an hour ago that i could hardly eat one let alone them all. Chemical type taste, burning stomach and chest and a strong sour taste in my mouth still even now and its been an hour or so. I have no idea what is going on, I love meat foods and never experienced this before. Checked online and it all points to covid but im sure I hadn't got that, first little home test I have says I havent but ill order others incase. By the way my wife tested the kebab and the nuggets from my plates and said they taste perfect as they always have without anything out of place.
Anyway if anyone knows or has experienced this same thing with meat food, any help is appreciated.

So this question has nothing to do with the video, but I have no idea where else to put it. I have been intermittent fasting for about a month now. I started 23-1 about a month ago and decided to go to 47-1 a couple of days ago. All I drink during this time is water, sometimes with a bit of lemon juice, but primarily just water. I do drink a lot of it (3 to 3,5 liters a day). Does that interfere with the fasting?
