I like your suggestion to not throw away the scraps and repurpose them. Great job on keeping the Earth beautiful. Tony

Great help. I'm short and find all the full wetsuit to be too long now I can modify it to fit. Thank you

The same technique can be used for new wetsuits or buying second hand.
I use a MS, and most times I can't find the size and only available M, which is the same but slightly longer. You can just cut 1-2cm from leg or arm and you are all good. This is great if you find a bargain clearance item or second hand. You can save lots of money and it works just the same.
I also used the technique for kids wetsuits. If the next size up is good overall but arms or legs are too long, just can cut. This works best when you buy second hand ones and it doesn't hurt as much.

great ideas mate, especially for wetsuits that are older and might not be getting much use anymore, or are currently not a useful size for anyone in the family etc. thanks for sharing the positive input! cheers -KS

Found my way here and this will be useful for the wetsuits that are now too short of my kids.
Plus it gives me confidence to cut the necks down on mine, i hate anything around my neck, always have.
I can never find the neckless ones in my size in the colours i want to match my gear. (I'm so picky)

fair enough. yes cutting the kids' ones might help extend their use, but keep in mind the torso will still be the same length/size so might still get uncomfortable for them as they grow. as for neck trimming, if that works for you, go for it! just try to keep the cut edge of the neck uniform as any irregularities in the cut line may become an irritation point on your neck, for rubbing etc. good luck -KS

@kookshed thank you, that's true, I think their torso will catch up to the long legs too . Thank you for the advice 🙏

Perhaps, if you can still fit into them, put it on and chalkline around the points of your arms or legs where you want to cut. Possibly add an inch if the suit was too tight to fully sit in the groin or shoulders.

not sure about that one mate! that definitely would be trickier and more time consuming. plus i've never done that before. maybe best to leave it to the professionals for now -KS
