I don't think there would've been much of a difference. Maul didn't care if the jedi or the Republic fell, claiming it already had and their time has passed. His plan was for him and Ahsoka to survive the rise of the empire and later kill Darth Sidious to take his place.
If Ahsoka had taken Maul's offer to join him, it wouldn't change order 66 because at that point, it was only hours away and they wouldn't have gotten to Coruscant from Mandalore in time. If Ahsoka told the jedi council that Maul said Anakin will become a sith, Windu who had never trusted Anakin would've treated him as an enemy and because of that Anakin wouldn't hesitate to join Palpatine like he did in canon.

While Order 66 was kept secret, Palpatine has a back up plan in case it was discovered. Order 65 is the same as 66 except aimed at the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic. That way if 66 was discovered he could show Order 65 to the people to calm them, showing that these were just back up plans in case of the worst case scenarios.

    • @hoarder66
      @hoarder66 Před 2 lety

It is a thin veil at best, I believe that was implemented just in case the chips are discovered early to give plausible deniability keeping him in control or if something really incalculable happens and gets ousted he can use it to regain control by force. The only reason it was ignored in the first place is that the jedi were both to busy and too disconnected, as they were trained, to look into the matter. But, it could have been disastrous if it was found out right after geonosis because they would have still had enough people to scratch their heads on the matter and Palpatine would have to step up his fast talking A game to slither out it.

It looks good only on paper until someone with a brain goes "wait a minute! These orders are oddly specific, who authorized this and when?" Again the extra orders are a thin veil at best because just having one having one is extremely suspect but over 100 while thoughtful would still demand an investigation. Essentially, if the plan was found out too early, this would buy enough time for Palpatine to slither away and and use the next plan. Even the jedi are not that dumb.

A solid plan, but we also have to take into account of the clones hard wiring that also prohibits blue-on-blue actions. Maybe once the civil war starts, capitalizing on any captured separatist's factory/forge worlds to produce weapons and auxillary "personnel" to act as supplements to the jedi's current force multipliers and logistic capabilities - can greatly help win a war against Palpatine. Though getting worker to operate the factories would present a problem, more so if it's the Jedi who are heading and conducting operations...

An interesting thing that I have always thought of since seeing attack of the clones was why the Jedi weren’t very concerned with the clone army showing up on Geonosis. Kenobi led a personal investigation into the clone program but instead of being completely skeptical of the clones, the Jedi decided to become generals to those same clones. I know that it was part of palpatine’s plan, but the Jedi could have used volunteer armies that were loyal to them like Ram Kota. The jedi very well could have done what was proposed in this video and seeing a clone wars-esk few episode animation of it would be utterly amazing. This kind of story would be easy to mess up as a producer (Disney), as the lore is very intricate and delicate around order 66 and its possible prevention/counter. Therefore, this story would essentially have to follow this video and the rest of the accompanying lore to a T for it to make sense. Or since the Jedi were already very suspicious of Palpatines power grab around the time of the Battle of Corescant. …
Instead of sending two Jedi into the *Invisible Hand,* just have a barrage fired at that bridge, in the heat and confusion of battle, while Palpatine, Grevious and Dooku are all present.
It would be a clean sweep, and even if you didn't know that Palpatine was Siddious it would seem like a reasonable exchange - matyring your Chancellor who you're deeply suspicious of, and taking out the leader of the CIS _and_ his top General and Jedi killer extraordinaire…
The two best personal combatants, who outclass nearly every Jedi in existence are no more.
The CIS could be readily blamed for Palpatines death, and the Jedi can push for Bail Organa to be appointed the next Chancellor… and he slowly begins to divest the position of its absolute power.

Another is that the Jedi with Senator allies push for non-clone armies. It would not be too difficult to imagine for several reasons and one doable as seen in the Force Awakening.
One, from a moral standpoint, many Jedi and Senators may not like how right the Separatist points are how the clones are slaves and feel a need to transition the Republic away to a volunteer army. Second, on a more practical point, it was cheaper for the army of hundreds of billions of people and could lead to where numbers were on the Republic side. The third is propaganda, as it shows the Galaxy the Republic is worth fighting for they don't need to buy and mass produce an army to win the war, unlike the Separatist that depends on cheap disposable droids with only a few organic commanders.

In this timeline I would suppose the Jedi wouldn’t want to work with Dooku because then it becomes clear he and Palpatine are in cahoots. And I also wonder if Dooku would even have to get involved. He secretly wanted to create a Sith Empire to establish order and peace by force and since the plan would be falling apart, the Separatists would be the closest thing he has to that. Eventually on Palpatine’s side he’s going to order the clones he eliminated. They’re expensive and their loyalty will be called into question. And since the Jedi would only have a fraction of the clone army, Palpatine would believe numbers will work better. After all, the CIS grabbed a lot of territory at the start of the conflict with superior numbers. Dooku could just sit back as neither side will be able to afford to go after him. No matter who wins the civil war, the Republic will be weakened. Dooku could try and justify an invasion to take over the galaxy after rebuilding the CIS by claiming either Palpatine has become a tyrant determined to crush everybody or that the Jedi have overthrown a legitimate democracy and are anarchists determined to do the same to the CIS. And with the Republic in a mess while the CIS still have their megacorporations and likely many planets who joined the CIS to not be involved in the Republic Civil War, Dooku’s Sith Empire probably will be born. It probably won’t be as bad as Palpatine’s Empire, but Sith Empires on average are usually cruel and tyrannical.

It's not an out there idea but I would have advised the Jedi council to thoroughly investigate the origins of the clone army and its strange links with count Dooku. The fact that the same bounty hunter that was the template for the army and participated in their training and the elaboration of their battle doctrine, happens to be working closely under Count Dooku seems very suspicious. that means at least that Dooku knew before the Jedis that the army was ready. Why wouldn't he seize the army for himself to defang the Republic? The Kaminoan being far removed from galactic politics and without a Jedi intermediary would not have budged. There are also the claims of Dooku that even if thought to be lies still have to be investigated just to see what the Siths want the Jedis to think. I know that the beginning of the war was a shitshow and sending Jedis all around the Galaxy was done in haste but the Council should not have parted with Kenobi. He is known to be one of their best investigators, with some of the best informant network in Coruscant and he has seen first hand most of what is to be investigated. Having him lead an Investigation team of Republic judicial officers (the ones doing the investigating in canon) would be logical. Another point that always botehred me when I was a kid is that the kaminoan are presented in their introduction by Dexxter as greedy and ready to do anything for the right price, but somehow the question of the price never comes up even when he announces to his long absented Jedi client the number of units ready and the ones in preparation. The origin of this money as well as the consequent fleet and amount of weapons that were built secretly to arm an army no one knew about. I read the extended materials so I know how Damask Holdings paid for it, but the fact that soomeone engeneered an army for the Republic in secret pro bono and the Siths know about it is staring at them in the face. Then there is the death of Siyo-Dyas, an extremist Jedi friends with Dooku that ordered an army 10 years ago just before mysteriously disappearing in a secret mission for the then Chancellor Valorum. Once again it looks so suspicious it's almost funny. So many things may have been uncovered in such an investigation, especially when you see how far the Republic officers came to the truth when right in the middle of the Battle of Coruscant they almost linked Palpatine to Darth Sidious before being killed by a Geonosian hired gun. The "Kenobi Commission" may not have uncovered everything but I believe it could have helped the Jedis to be better prepared and less trusting of the clones and the Republic.
Sure, This investigation team would deprive the Order of a talented general on the field and maybe a few battles may have been lost on this account, but the payoff would have been far greater. The prerogative of the council is to fight the Dark Side not fight the Republic's wars, that comes second in order of priority. They know that Count Dooku is a Sith apprentice and that his actions are part of a greater plan, they also know that the Siths are absolutists who crave total control and won't sttle for carving a powerful dominion across the Outer Rim with teh Confederacy. Hence this war is obviously a distraction. When the enemy is trying to distract you, you stop and try to figure out what his plans are, you don't rush head first in a battle. The Jedis had truly lost their ways back then. Even Master Yoda's ominosu warning about the Dark shroud falling on the galaxy should enjoin them not to thread where the enemy wants them to go for he might have lain a trap.
A complet medical check-up independant of any Kaminoan interference would of course be part of such an investigation and would probably uncover the chips. Though the 150 orders might cover it's purpose its hidden nature would warn the Jedis that the Clone army is a poison made to kill them of the Republic from the inside.
All in all the Jedis really suffered from the almost doomed resignation that Master Yoda showed and the pig-headedness of Mace Windu. With their leadership half depressed because of the inexcapable nature of Darkness and the otehr half secretly glad he can finally kick some ass they really messed up. The jedis once again clearly showed themselves to be monk/philosophers/warriors instead of the intelligence agent/soldiers/politicians they needed to be to survive.
TLDR: The jedis should have kept Obi-Wan on the side at the beginning of the war to continue his investigation and uncover the shady origins of the clone army.
One question, I always wondered if the Agri corps are truly the best use for a below average Jedi? Even being below average in the Order still means you are better than most of the Galaxy, and relegating people to being farmers for failing to be space wizards always seemed like a waste to me. People like Han Solo and Padme Amidala who that a just higher than normal midichlorian count can still allow you to make incredible things and being more proficient than most at many activities (precise piloting or political negociation). Plsu I always got the feeling that Force sensitive are often more intelligent than the norm, you don't get many stupid Jedis (Coleman Trevor being the exception). It seems a waste to send these able minds and bodies to be farmers instead fo being closer to the people. that would be a golden opportunity for showing the Galaxy that the Jedis are more than invincible space wizards in the core world grandiose temple but also spiritual leaders defending the light and good in the Galaxy. They would act as monks such as Chirrut Îmwe or Baze Malbus. The Archeological Corps is useful I guess but does little to connect with the people of the Galaxy, but we don't get enough informations about what the Service Corps actually do, probably meaning it doesn't matter to the Jedi knights on Coruscant. it seems to align with the worrying signs of "Midichlorianocracy" in the Order, the midichlorian being a good metric for power but not for competency as a leader or an administrator.

Order 65, the order to remove the Supreme Chancellor, definitely applied here. Palpatine had spent the entire clone wars providing intelligence on Republic movements to Dooku, so they could coordinate their plans; that would be considered treason in war time. All they would need was a friendly senator (Bail Organa or Padme) and the Jedi Council to sign off on it. Sadly, after the attack on Coruscant, as told in Revenge of the Sith, the Senate voted away the right to confer with the army, its officers, and the Jedi Order; transferring that power to the chancellor's office, those were the powers that Obi Wan mentioned to Anakin in the map room. After that, the only way Order 65 could have been issued was if the chancellor consented, and I doubt that was an order he would have gave.
