They excluded so many things from this season that it was horrible, a great cast, a great story but with a terrible script
Fun fact, in the first episode at Anna, Dex, Thalia and his wife's dinner, Thalia says that "She still feeling Adeline's spirit around them" and asks the others if they don't feel the same, being a clue about how the season ends, it seems like Adeline was present all season looking for the right moment to take her revenge 👀👀

I really enjoyed your recaps and the experience of this season of AHS overall. The ending was kinda abrupt, but some of that is probably due to the writer and actors' strikes and scheduling pressure. I hope future seasons are based on books bc it kept the story from flying completely off the rails as AHS is wont to do.
Did anyone notice some correlation between show plot & Wizard of Oz plot? A powerful witch dies easily in both stories by younger heroine, twin witch sisters are important characters in both works, the presence of symbolic heels (notice that the color of heels used in AHS show are green which is Emerald City's theme color), both heroines had the power within themselves to go back "home" or get back to "normalcy" symbolized by the use of their shoes & repeating a chant while wearing shoes (Dorothy clicks shoes and repeats I Wish I was Home & ends up back "home" while Anna repeats chant while wearing symbolic heels & uses same heels to kill last remaining spider while she returns to normalcy & goes back home metaphorically), women have the most power in show and Wiz of Oz (Glenda, Wicked Witches, Dorothy, Dorothy's Aunt, etc ). It makes me wonder if AHS show writer was a big fan of author L.F. Baum and/or his most famous book.

Its funny now when I think about kims character dying her reaction where she was quivering then screamed reminded me of the witch melting!! Ir would be interesting if some if these symbols and ideas were meant to parallel Wizard of oz.
Btw this while wizard of oz thing makes me think we need a horror movie version where Dorothy instead of going home gains evil powers and becomes a evil witch. The kingdom of oz becomes hell like and she is the worst witch.
@Kirby-gu1lf I really like your idea..the only concern I have with your idea is that most horror stories concludes with good winning over evil which I personally prefer. I don't know how fans of the Wiz of Oz book or Dorothy the character would feel if Dorothy, America's sweetheart and the ultimate good girl, became evil but then likely ends up being killed by another "good girl" since most horrors ends with good winning overall. Dorothy being killed by another "good girl" might turn some long time fans off unless the "evil" Dorothy is maybe Dorothy's evil Doopleganger who was actually the biological daughter of Auntie Em. Maybe in your version, Auntie Em is actually the biological unwed mother of Dorothy and Dorothy was actually one of a set of twins born of the unwed Auntie Em. Auntie Em went to NYC for Military Fleet Week in NYC as part of a girl's road trip and she met a handsome single Navy military man whos heading overseas the following day. Auntie Em's loses her virginity in a one night stand with him. She returns to Kansas and finds out a couple months later that shes pregnant but shes not showing yet because its the early months of pregnancy. When Auntie Em finds out she's pregnant, she goes to Nebraska to visit her older long lost widowed sister so that no one knows she got pregnant while being unmarried. Only Auntie Em's sister knows her secret. When she gives birth, she finds out during birth that there are twin girls but she can only afford to keep one girl so she gives away one of the twins to her big sister who initially appears on the surface to be financially stable but is actually financially struggling unbeknownst to Auntie Em. Her big sister lies to neighbors and community that someone left two baby girls at her doorstep and that the sisters decided to keep one girl each. When Em goes back to Kansas, she tells family in Kansas the same story but she leaves out the fact there were two girls and instead says it was only one baby girl so that her family in Kansas would not force both girls to be raised into the same home. Auntie Em's sister continues to struggle financially she decides to secretly give away her baby to a barren rich woman stranger for money. The big sister never tells Auntie Em that she gave away the baby. The Big Sister dies a couple of days in car crash but the body of the baby girl is never found and is assumed dead. Unbeknownst to Aunt Em's sister, the rich barren woman is the leader of an evil coven who buys the first born daughters of poor families and raised the girls to become part of a powerful yet evil coven. The coven raise Dorothy's twin to do dark magic and Dorothy's twin grows up and resents the fact that Dorothy was raised by their biological mom and tries to get revenge on good Dorothy by doing alot of evil acts while pretending to be the "good Dorothy". Unbeknownst to the evil coven, Auntie Em's is the the former leader of a good coven who reluctantly taught Dorothy "good magic" when Dorothy grew up. Dorothy and her evil twin sister fight to be the Queen of Oz with the help of their respective coven members. How does that sound?

I'm glad you enjoyed this season. I think it's overhated and while the ending was rushed, I still liked it
Glad to know I am not the only ine who enjoyed this seasin. It sucks the episodes are getting shorter. Its not fair is about 35 minutes of show and 25 of commercials. Yes the ending was rushed but I felt overall it gave the idea behind all going on. What we needed though since episodes are so short is two more episodes. We alk know Kim's character is the ruler of it but how did she come to be. We needed a visualization of her beginning. More info on why Anna was so important and why she was chosen for the special baby. Also I never had the feeling even though was a monster that the baby was meant to be the antichrist. I get the purpose of the child even though a boy he was to usher in a matriarchy.
I liked the episodes. I think you need to keep in mind that David Lynches daughter directed many of the episodes - so it’s very minimal with things not explained. That’s a David Lynch move. So the episode was slower and less explained stuff more mysterious. I enjoyed the different kind of spin. All in all I liked this season better than Roanoke, 1984, and Death VAlley for sure. I think a better title of the season might have been the Auteur - because ANNA is the auteur !!! That’s whats unexplained!! So now that she is the supreme she can do whatever she wants!!

I listened to a ending explanation that saud at the end it meant she could achieve her dreams and be a mother. I got that with her holding the baby and the oscar. However there were some sinister vibes in that ending just listen to the music. What are we supposed to assume is Anna going to be on a sinister path? Any thoughts?
I liked the final and the whole season, I need to re watch it and read the book

The score wasn’t so much an issue as the suspenseful music. So many times you think you are going to get a surprise or a twist because dramatic music would start playing, and then …nothing. In terms of spiders, many of the characters were connected and inter-twined in a weblike structure over multiple years. Squashing the spider at the end of the finale was like destroying that web and everything connected to it.

I've always given AHS the benefit of the doubt when it comes to their seasons, but this finale so bad. Looks like 1984 is the last season that I actually liked.

This finale was so bad that I kind of want to give Roanoke another chance. I recommend you watch NYC. It is far better than this finale.
I'll watch it at some point! If AHS Season 13 is out in 2025, then that gives me time to start it!

Typical drop the ending. Great start, engaging story, f'ed up the ending. They need to hire a writer good with wrapping things up. Quite a few seaons ended this way. No real answers and some bull explanations for the rest.
Yeah it all tumbles down really weird and fast at the end.
