ABOUT DANNY

Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can beâŠto say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On CZcams and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I donât know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isnât as flexible as it once was or youâve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are Iâve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw upâŠa lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
Iâve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the gameâŠLETS GO TO WORK!

I feel like Danny Maude is one of the very few pros who actually want you to get better. Shawn Clement is another. Rather than put 1000 different thoughts in your head by showing numbers and percentages, he demonstrates in a very clear manner, what your body needs to be doing. The emphasis is always on motion and position rather than numbers and graphs and percentages. Thanks Danny.
Really appreciate the support Kevin
Danny is a genuine pro, he takes the time to reply to all viewers
@@gazstaf really do my best đ
I totally agree.
I don't have a lot of proof but I feel like Alex Elliot is another. Breaks things down to be simple and logical, helps you see what you should to do what he's saying without all the bells and whistles so to speak.
Beneath every 60-degree wedge, is a 2 iron.

That's a fact đđ
A masterclass, thank you. No less a golfer than Gary Player said that if he was playing with a 14 handicap golfer but he took all the shots from inside 100 yards, the handicap would drop to 3. You just showed why.
I agree. He was speaking of people like me.
Gary Player didn't ship very often off the green he would do a bump and run with a 5 iron, I believe. It's a fun fact I found out about a couple weeks ago when I watched a special on him.
How would he do with a 25 handicapper who usually plays like a 30-35?
@@johnnorth9514 my favourite type of golf đ
My goal is to "think 2" inside 100 yards. When I am able to do this two things happen. 1. I put less pressure on my putting when I hit the green. 2. Be more aggressive with my chips. This is the key instructions for me to make #2 more consistent.
As always Danny breaks it down and explains the 'why' Truly a fantastic coach and brilliant at understanding human movement - at least in a golfing sense. Great job Danny!
I appreciate that! đ
I think this is the best chipping lesson I have ever viewed. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
I canât wait to get out to the practice range with these tipsâŠ. Every thing I do wrong with chipping is right here, thanks DanielâŠ. Iâll let you know
This video right here transformed my game. The consistency I now have has made golf fun again. My pitching and chipping has saved me countless strokes. Thank you, thank you thank you.
Repetition is the key to learning - I keep coming back to this lesson. Thanks Danny!
Happy to help Peter đ
finally someone who actually explains what bounce is. almost every youtube video I see, they just say "its the bottom on the wedge" which doesn't help me understand anything. this guy actually explains and shows you. subbed
Welcome to the channel Khoi
I have been using the rhythm/tempo technique from your chipping video two weeks ago and it has really made a difference. Not only are the results better, but my playing partners compliment how smooth and effortless the shot looks. And it's all thanks to you.
Thatâs brilliant to hear David. Thanks for taking the time to share.

This is pure gold fellow golfers. I even ignore the ball entirely and focus a spot on the ground about a ball's width behind and SLIDE the bounce along the ground. It's so easy, even I can do it

Wonderful, really happy to help
I learned something on this one... Great detail. Can't wait for the snow to melt so I can use this info. Wish i had youtube and access to this when I started playing 35 years ago. Golf is one sport where learning the basics is key to low scores. Thanks Danny you are a great teacher.
Glad it was helpful Paul, season isnât too far away

Excellent tips. I am still a 16 handicapper but have improved greatly over the last yr from tips from your videos. While I still struggle to find the center strikes on my full shots Iâve dropped many strokes per round by course management and my around the green chipping. Your videos are great for all ages and skill level because theyâre so easy to understand
Great to hear! Thanks for taking the time to share
Great lesson Danny, and your other chipping video with Pete Cowen are absolute gold
Glad you enjoyed them David
Bonus tip #2 is great! Have to use the correct club
Absolutely đ
You are a genius in explaining the relationship between âhowâ and âwhyâ. The âwhyâ helps me remember the âhowâ. Example from driverâs ed from 45 years ago that still sticks: accelerate when you change lanes because the distance traveled at an angle to maintain forward position is longer.
Really appreciate that Olga
Thank you so much for that. I play off 13.6 and have been down to 10 before WHI. This has always been the weakest part of my game and something I have had many lessons on. What you explained really clicked with me and have just played my best round of golf. Fully understanding the bounce and why it impacts has been so helpful. Thanks Danny.
Brilliant Nick well done đ
You know Danny. It's just nice to have someone like you to help us get better at this game called golf. It is much appreciated đđ
So delighted for you Danny in reaching 900K subscribers. You absolutely SMASH every video you make. This one is pure GOLD. I will be heading to the practice area later to work on my bounce!! Thank you sooo much for all your generosity and wisdom every week.
Love to hear how you get on Patricia
I like the way you explained the bounce and how to use it. First time itâs made sense.
Really happy to help George
Tried it out today it works. Just need to practice more to get it down.
Danny, I lost the full use of one eye several years ago and have struggled with chipping ever since. Your visualization of keeping the club "under the breakfast table" has helped me immensely with striking the ball crisply again. It just seems easier to find the bottom of my arc. Thanks!
This has really helped me massively. Played this morning and employed these tips. Didnât blade or duff one chip shot with my 64 or 60 degree wedges. Oh and I broke my personal best on my local course. Fantastic
Amazing to hear Jim, well done
First video of this fellow I've watched but I was very impressed with how clear and distinct he was - giving a simple but effective idea such as "...like you're swinging under the breakfast table" is something that is easy to remember and a nice little mental container for me to carry the rest of the tips he gave. I rarely comment on anything but I really found this helpful.
Thank you đ appreciate you taking the time to do so đ
Excellent tips Danny. Your clear and concise instructions are priceless! Thank you so much for helping golfers all around the world elevate their skill set and enjoy playing golf!!
Definitely going to rewatch the one from a couple of weeks ago and this one again. A real problem area for me. Absolute classic case of one shot falling short of the green and the next one skittering across the green and off the other side. Thank you.
Love to hear how you get on David
Agree completely with the rave reviews you've gotten. After stumbling on your chipping video, there's nobody else I've watched that compares. Just what I needed with detailed explanations that make remembering easier when you understand the why.
Started practising my chipping after a lesson last year with alot of hrs and 52 degree from all around the greens and distance control my short game has came on immensely few things I will take from this video an implement them into my game cheers again danny
I donât believe I have even heard instructions clearly than you! I am getting every explanation to playing better golf! Thank you Danny!
Really happy to help David
At the age of 65, I've been golfing since I was 5. My home course as a teen on the high school team living in Springfield, NJ was Baltusrol. With the reverse aging protocols that I consistently live by, I am able to maintain a +0.4 handicap from about a 6500 yard track (8-iron = 170 yards with no wind). The right elbow advice pointing out, which is something that I've mostly been doing unconsciously, is genius: so simple! And now that I'm conscious of it, look out! In addition, the water splashing concept makes so much sense from a practical standpoint. The other video that I watched, "What Nobody Tells You About Chipping Onto The Green," was also a gem, especially with the "under the table" concept. Thank you! Looking forward to more incredible nuggets of wisdom from your videos...
Thanks so much Steve for taking the time to feedback, really appreciate it
Where are you located (in case I want an onsite lesson, etc.)? I'm in South Florida...
@@DanielMaude Instant results!!! So, as I mentioned, I watched only 3 videos yesterday: "chipping under the table," "core usage, splashing kids, and elbow out (which I used successfully in both chipping and putting as well)," and "using gravity pitching from 50 yards." I left early to have an hour or so to practice and somewhat incorporate these nuggets of golf mastery. Here's what happened: on the front 9, I hit all 7 fairways off the tee on the par 4s and 5s with a 240 yard average carry (= driver circles were very precise and powerful), I hit 6 greens in regulation, the 3 others I got up and down for pars, sand was never close to being a factor, my average putting length was only about 15 feet, and I was pretty easily able to shoot even par 36 from the blue tees playing longer than the 3273 yards on the score card (with the wet Florida ground). On our way to the back 9, the lightning warning cancelled golf for the rest of the day, but I am extremely pleased at these instant results that are only going to get more fine-tuned with continued practice and play. The round also included a 135 yard PW to 15 feet, two gap wedge shots from 122 yards each to 20 and 5 feet respectively, a 190 yard 7-iron to 40 feet which I then putted to within 1 foot, another 184 yard 7-iron to just off the green which I got to 3 feet with my 52-degree wedge from just off the green, and a 153 yard PW to 12 feet! Thank you!!! I will eagerly be purchasing your programs to learn more...
Wow Danny, this is the best yet. You summarized all the things I do wrong that has lead to the chipping yips (I have been suffering for over 5 years). I am going to work on using the bounce correctly. Thanks for the best ever tips. Tee to green I am decent-probably a 7 handicap. pitching and chipping a 20. I can see where this is really going to help. Thanks again for being a Coach that dumbs it down so we can understand it.
Thanks for supporting the channel and feeding back Randy
Another great video Danny, thank you. This is the weakest part of my game, having a tendency to shank my chips, because I take the club back inwards too much. Us amateurs can save so many shots by getting this element of the game right. Please keep up the great content.

Really well explained Danny - another great lesson. I really like the way you simplify things and break techniques down in manageable chunks ( no pun intended ).
Love this! Using the stroke I have had two chip-in pars during my last 18 holes and have chipped in two more on the practice green. It's so easy and accurate!
Very clear, Danny. Iâm struggling with all the problems youâve highlighted so will give this a go. Great explanation of how to use the bounce
You can do it Stephen
Love feeling the bounce when you throw the club head into the ground under the ballđ
Hi Danny, thank you for all your great videos that I find all very helpful.
I would have the following questions to this one:
1. do you adjust your aiming to reflect the changed lie of the club?
2. If standing on a upward slope as in your video, do you need to adjust your setup and maintain the bounce with regard to the slope rather than to the horizontal plane?
3. How does the advice regarding the movement and the end position of the shaft fits to the other advice you gave in another video of yours explaining that the shaft end should be moving along an "L" curve? Thank you from the Czech Republic!
Fantastic. Did this today and it worked like a charm! Thanks!
Man, good thing for Danny telling me all these things. Because no one else seems to be telling me anything about golf!!! đ

Yeah I was watching the video and the whole time I'm like "thats a chip with a 9 iron all day" :D I actually just recently started chipping around the green with my irons when I got a set of 2020 Cobra Forged Tec irons, I had some Tommy Armour game improvement irons before and Nike Slingshot 4D before that and I never liked the way those giant soles interacted with the turf on chip shots, not to mention all the flyers that would come shooting off the face! Thanks for the great lesson!
Thanks William đ
I really, really like your style of teaching..and you have just enough accent to make it sound even more special..;))))
Excellent Danny. Thank You!!!

Awesome video. Thank you so much for all of your advice/pro tips.
You are very welcome Brian
Great drill as always. A version of this drill I do most every day - "engaging" the bounce of the wedges around the yard. Even have some bare spots that one would call "ultra tight lies". Also your bonus #2 to use an iron instead of a wedge is one of my fave go to's. I tend to use the 8i as it closely mimics my friends' chippers at 36deg. Still the key is to not be afraid to figure out what is the best club - even if its not a flop shot wedge but maybe even a hybrid to bump and run the ball to the hole...
Thank you Willie đ

Great video as always, Danny! After my 33-year hiatus from golf, something really important that I've found, after getting back into golf this January, is conditions. It would have been great to have added in just how much the ground conditions affect your ability to use that bounce. Only now that it's drying up can I really use that bounce, but it's been a real learning curve up until now to work that out, because no matter what I was doing, it was digging into that soggy winter turf!
Absolutely, if itâs digging in then remember itâs the leading edge thatâs doing it. Start to exaggerate what Iâm doing here if needed and let me know how you get on
Iâll be taking those tips out on the course next week. Think this is main reason for m leaving loads of shots out there. Great explanation. Cheers Danny
