    Great tie in about cardiac pre-load. Really helped with physiologic integration.

    Dude thank you so much for this short but very helpful vid. I am preping for step 2 CK, and needed a quick refresher on the topic. This was exactly what I needed. I know the topic pretty well, just needed a better explanation to ddx simple and tension pneumothoraxes. Great job.

    u forgot to mention the main problem is it kinks the main artery from the heart, with the pressure, like when u kink a hose pipe and it stops the heart from pumping the blood and oxygen around the body, no oxygen, death, a know alot about the lungs, it happened to me 5 times in 12 months i also had a surgicalone, its when the air pressure builds up and ends up trapped in the skin, its like pressing bubble wrap on ye chest, av had them all, and its the worst experience u could imagine, am a roofer and fell from great heights not once but a few times and even an open fracture is nothing compared to this,

    So what is the difference between tension and simple. I’ve been trying to figure this out for years but no one can tell me

      Simple is a collapse lung and tension is a collapse lung putting tension in your heart. That's how I describe it to others, doubt you need the information anymore :)

    so apart from the fact that in tension pneumothorax the heart and great vessels will be compressed leading to reduced pre load...cardiac output and eventually blood pressure.,what really is the diffrence between pneumothorax and tension pneumothorax?

    • @sanadbenali6993
      @sanadbenali6993 Před 6 lety +1

      clinically tensiion P. patients are haemodynamically unstable they may go into shock another thing is that it can develop from none traumatic causes AKA primary spontaneous P. and secondary P. I was hoping to find out how it develops in a none traumatic setting

    • @brettanderson7363
      @brettanderson7363 Před 6 lety +6

      That is difference. "Tension" means it is putting tension on the circulatory system and causing obstructive shock. A Pneumo means the lung is collapsing... a Tension pneumo means the lung is collapsing to the point of pressing on the great vessels. So on top of the whole "I can breath" thing you add in a drop in blood pressure. The tension pnemo is much more deadly then just a pneumo

    폐가 심장을 압박해서 혈압이 떨어진다는건 이해했습니다.
    폐의확장이 힘들어져서 공기의 유입량이 적어짐에따라 폐 내에서의 가스교환이 힘들어지고 체순환에 필요한 혈액내의 산소가 부족해짐에따른 보상기전으로 혈압이 올라갈순 없는건가요? 기흉이 폐의 어느부위에 발발하느냐에 따라 폐가 찌그러지는 부위가 다르다고 들었고 심장을 압박하지 않는경우가 많다고 들었습니다. 단순한 호기심인데 제 접근법에 문제가있다면 어느부분이 문젠지 알려주세요.
    고등학교다닐때 기흉으로 서울대병원에 입원한적이있는데 systolic이 150까지 올라갔었거든요 평소 마르고 혈압이 낮은편이였습니다.
