  • On today’s episode, we chat with Gail Rubin Dauer, a Former Application Review Specialist, at the University of Michigan Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Gail and I discuss what type of students the University of Michigan looks for and how applicants can stand out. Gail highlights what makes UMich special and how students should approach its supplemental essays.

My daughter (Fall 2024 applicant) was thrilled to have her application postponed because she insisted on submitting an SAT score in the 1300s. I wish she had viewed this before submitting her EA application. Full of incredibly useful information. On the plus side, I think she nailed her essays based on the information Gail provided. Thank you!!

Gail was very thorough in her answers without telling prospective students exactly what to write. Great job!

Outstanding discussion. The host, Ellen, was thoroughlyprepared and asked insightful questions. Gail Dauer is a rare resource and offered in depth, detailed information on how students can best present themselves in their applications

@@Ingeniusprep THANK YOU! I sent this discussion to my youngest granddaughter who is a 9th grader interested in Umich. She watched with her mother and sent me a thank you. Got my fingers crossed she will become the 16th Wolverine in our family over the last four generations. Her cousin is a sophomore at the UM College of
engineering, so she has many role models to encourage her.
