    Also, I am a rising junior. My weighted GPA is a 3.93. I have 21 A’s, 7 B’s, and 2 C’s (bc that semester I was experiencing family issues). I’ve taken mostly honors and AP courses, and have taken about 5-6 extracurriculars (inside and outside of my high school), some being robotics, soccer, badminton, and more. I have also done 300 hours of volunteering (yup, that many), and have written 2 cookbooks. At this rate, do you think I will be above the average applicant? Is there anything else in a do to boost my chances (my thought is to do extremely well on SAT but my most recent PSAT was 1020 which is kind of terrible, I need to study for that)? What are my chances?

    i have an unweighted gpa of 4.0, was top of my grade in 12th, engaged in community service, art, and politics related extracurricular activities, but my SAT score is 1370 and there were no opportunities for AP or high-level courses in my school. do you think I have a chance? I'm thinking of a biology related major

      Probably not on the common data set it says only 2.5 % of students have a uw of 3.5 or less in the context of aps and honors

      You're absolutely correct! We've currently decided not to cover graduate programs on our CZcams channel because each one - even at the same school - is semi-independent. However, we do work one-on-one with graduate students if you're interested in help with an application.

    Can i apply after my o levels ?

    • @jasonpatel13
      @jasonpatel13  Před rokem

      According to UMich, you'll need at least five ordinary level passes from one
      sitting at “credit” standard on the General Certificate of Secondary Education, or a
      comparable certificate (GCSE, CXC, SPM, HKCEE, IGCSE, WASC, EASC, etc.). If A-Levels are being taken, predicted A-Level results should be submitted by the school at time of application.

    The 22% felt like a high number, but that's probably relative. I'm a white male so I got in solely on stellar academic scores. U of M is massively international these days.

      @@jasonpatel13 It really didn't affect me one way or the other. It was more of just a casual notice. The only way that you can tell is when your classes are graded on curves, and students (typically Asian) who come from cultures that have immensely high academic standards and rigorous study habits can really propel you to bring your "A game" (pun intended). If you're someone who likes the challenge, it's interesting. If you're someone who prides oneself on always being the top dog, it's daunting as all get-out.
      I made many friends who came from overseas. Had a Bangladeshi study group member who would tell interesting stories. Having said that, everyone was a rock star in the classroom. We don't let just anyone in.
      And GO BLUE!
