@@shawnboogz7546 probably clean it before you stick it on. 20k miles and numerous car washes at the ol’ scratch n shine with the tape that came on it from eBay. Like the day I put it on.
I like that but you can't do that with the Tacomas emblem. I was thinking some smoked tail light film would darken it up and probably not effect the radar sensor behind it.
No no no no I don’t like it a big fan of chrome you gotta leave the chrome, my friend. Of course that’s your preference if you like it Black that’s fine I don’t. I prefer the chrome but it’s still look good it don’t matter what you do to this truck is going to look good👍👍👍👍❤️🙈🙈🙈👈🏻
Slowing deleting all the chrome on my 4Runner. Looks good! You should do an update in a couple months showing if it's holding up well.
Just got a new platinum. Was just looking at what to do with that emblem. Good idea.
Thanks
Damn. I went out and bought a plastic overlay for mine. This seems to be a much cheaper option
Overlays look better.
Plastidip will begin to peel pretty damn quickly.
@@theTealStory mine came off in the car wash with the 3m tape..what should I use next?

I put it over the other one…I have a ‘24..it came off in the car wash😢..there is a clip in the back of the emblem ..it comes off that easy?
I just noticed your header on your channel...and saw what TRDJon stands for...😂🤣😂
Lol the more you know hahah
Plasti dip is hella fun 🤙
I blacked out all the badges on my truck except for the one in the grill. To me, when that one is black, it just looks like it's missing.
Looks good!
Thanks dude!
Did you do the grille too?
Nooo...not plasti dip on a 60k truck.
If I didn't make this video, you wouldn't even know it was plasti dipped.
@@TRDJon I'm all for the honesty.

Did plasti dip on my sequoia - doesn’t hold up anywhere except the back. Not strong enough for bugs to hit or be scrubbed off of.
How many coats did you put? I usually do 5
Blacked out always looks so good
My whole truck is blacked out I have a ‘24..it’s badass
@@shawnboogz7546 how are you liking the ‘24? They seem to get a lot of hate
@@daniellake4133 I love it bud…the body style..towing..So much room..I’m 6’5..the seat lowers so I can’t fit😂😂
i would get some paint eventually, because plasti dip will fade. Get some premium paint and paint it that color permanently. The black looks great
I put a glossifier on it too to help with that.
Good buy to all chrome
Don’t use plasty dip, it will be all over time, especially in the hot sun just buy an overlay they’re much cheaper and solid
Overlays definitely aren't cheaper. I've had dip on my 4Runner for like 5 years now and still hasn't faded.

Maybe if it was black chrome. Just looks off here
what paint you use to paint it black?
Plasti dip
I think you either go all black or none. It looks better. Part chrome and a black emblem looks odd
Does that mess up the front sensors?
No. The radar is at the bottom of the grille on this new truck.
I have a 2018 Tacoma and wanted to do that to my truck. Is the sensor in the logo one of the semi-old years?
..yuk. This blacked-out fad is so ugly. I strongly prefer chrome trim, including on the wheels. It's so dull.
To each their own. Beauty on having your own vehicle.
PlastiDip looks like shit after 6 months from stone chips , but that’s roughly how long you keep stuff anyways.
I had mine for a few years, and it held up well.
Mine came black
Nice. You paid for it lol.
Chrome is🤮
