The thing I admire most about this show is that it’s able to tell a great story without a single word of dialogue. Not one. No origin story. No opening narration. You’d think that would turn people away from it but really no words need to be said. The messages are conveyed just fine. From a marketing standpoint, it’s absolutely genius. People all over the world can watch this show and still know what’s going on without having to rely on whether or not the translation is good. Well done!

@@squishytacos5344 I was thinking that too but after rewatching it Fang killed both the one with the backwards horn and the one with 2 horns and Spear killed the one with no horn. And the one with the backwards horn was the first to enter and be killed by fang

So did I think, until I watched the animatic. Where Genndy Tartakovsky himself described them as "ugly" or "bad" T-rexs.
He said that there called Horned Tyrannosaurs
Which I woul assume since prehistory took a different turn I would assume two types a of TRex split up
One being Fang which is a normal T-Rex and maybe cause of it TRex adapted to being smaller which would explain why she's so tiny in Shots
And the other kind of specie's is these Horned Tyrannosaurs which is probably why that mother was so big, the ones that killed Spears Family must have been juveniles and the big one is the mother
So not beefed up Ceratosaurs just a subspecies
But Don't worry I thought the same thing at first too 😉

Some Shiny Pants I think they are. The Ceratosaurus bared a similar appearance to a Tyrannosaurus but it has a horn on its snout like a rhino.

This really is a great scene that Spear avenges his family’s death by killing the dinos who killed his family
I love how you can feel the sheer _weight_ of every single impact and movement in the show.
This is the greatest genius of Tartakovsky. His ability to tell a story without a single goddamn word being spoken. He's done it before with PPG, Dexter, and Samurai Jack. But this series is clearly a shot at his magnum opus of that style of story telling.
No politics, no social class, no economics, just pure battle without honor or Humanity.

I love how this show doesn’t give you a single dialogue but still you can understand the whole story by using your primal instinct or your own instinct of understanding actions and reactions. The story and the characters made us stop thinking during the whole episode and just enjoy it, leaving us speechless after the episode end for a moment then the only thing that lingering us is our feelings about that episode.

I’ve done some research, and I believe the Horned Tyrannosaurs from Primal may actually be Gennedy’s own depiction of Pycnonemosaurus. Just like one of the smaller Horned Tyrannosaurs, the Pycnonemosaurus has a bumpy and spiny horn-like structure on its snout.
Pycnonemosaurus is an Abelisauridae, it's more closely related to Carnotaurus than T.rex.
I reckon those horned tyrannosaurs had far too long a face to be any type of carnotaurid

So at first I thought these theropods were the babies of the giant one but after rewatching it I realize these are just regular sized and the giant one is some sort of gigantism alpha rex.
And since Fang was stronger than the three regular ones, she would've easily killed the alpha if they were nearly the same size.

I love how they use certain dinosaur movies ranging from jurassic park, King Kong, and other media. They put together these sounds but not in a way where it sounds natural and not just a clump of choppy grunts and roars

2. I think what happened was this: the Dome horned rex regained consciousness to find both of its siblings dead. Quietly, it slunk off to informed the Leader. However, said leader killed the survivor for failing and watched spear and fang drop their guard to make its move

I just realized, only two of the three smaller Red Rexes was killed, the third (the only one without a horn) was just tail slammed and vanished

I'm a big fan of Genndy's work (loved Samurai Jack) but as good as this show is, this animation takes grisly cartoon violence to a whole new level. I hope it's not a matter of time before someone complains. But as for me, I'M HOOKED.

Man, this video is so awesome!!! This cave-man was just doing his daily business until he stumbles upon Fang and her brood. With no thought of danger for his own life he just charges a damn T-rex-sort-of predator and ending up slaying the creature.
What i love with spear in the show is that he use anything he find & grab as a weapon except his spear
