I want to be clear I bought this second hand.
So it's clear the previous owner knew it was broken and sold it anyway to me.
In other words they scammed me big time on this.
Still it would be fun to make a positive retro racing experience out of it.
Or at least try before you buy .. I did not do that 😅

Looks more like its water damaged ... You could open it up, and see if the Gas Pedal Button was clean (Its constantly pressed, blocking input from other buttons). You would not believe how many times things like this, can be fixed with a simple spay of WD-40 Specialist Electrical Contact Cleaner!!!
Wheel was not working at all.
Random input.. controller (wheel) was totally messed up.

As a former PC Tech... Most Wireless devices only lasted between 3 to 5 years, before their Internal Radios started to fail (or fail completely). I cant tell you how many Wireless Keyboards, and Mice that Ive had to replace, because of it. But also, Routers would has issues too. First, it seemed as if they were losing data packets (I never confirmed it), and eventually... connections would be randomly dropping. In the end, they go completely dead (though, most people replace them, well before that point... due to how bad the connectivity and slowed speeds, had become).
As such... If you want something that last Several Decades... dont buy Wireless items, nor items which have non-replaceable batteries (rechargeable devices). Even if you are Handy, and dont mind taking things apart to try to repair them... Some of those rechargeable batteries... are not standard sizes, and you might not be able to find a replacement that Fits. Especially +3 yrs, down the road.
Note: Not all wireless devices, fail in such short timeframes. I believe it may depend on the quality of the parts, that the companies use.
Routers yes indeed 5 years and they are done have seen it to many times.
Personally this was the second time and maybe last time for a wirelless old racing wheel 😶

If it's water damaged, as suggested by someone else, the comment here would read: Ah, I'd assume that maybe the previous owner tried to play 'Spy Hunter' (the arcade version), only their car failed to change into the boat when it left the road and entered the water? (Splash! Sink! Glug!). Thus when you bought it you then were up a certain creek without a paddle? 🤣🚗⛵🚽

Frustrating. I've always wanted a good driving setup, but it would cost quite a bit. I want the driving cage, seat, with the frame for a TV and stuff... I want it all! lol But... I'm poor, so I just watch videos of it.

Did you try it on pc?
No drivers, So figured PS3 was the safe and easy way to play.
Can tell you old wheels on PC it's one HUGE problem.
Old Logitech can work with games like project cars perfectly.
Beside that it's a hit or mis.
This was clearly a problem with the wheel itself so in the end they scammed me when selling it.
In other words test it or don't buy old stuff like this 😄
