Everything he spoke was true and this is why it makes it so raw. The way he trusted us to let us know his personal stories is commendable. Even though I had already heard this song but listening it again with MV made it so freaking emotional. Well, it had been years since I cried listening to any song, so it felt good to let go of your emotions for a while and just enjoy the beauty of moment. For a few good minutes, I was not regretting my past, I was not worried about my future, I was just there, in present, grateful for where I am today.
Every army can't stop crying when they release this, it's because it all happen to him. He open up everything, his part time job the accident (reason why his shoulder got hurt" suicide attempts, anxiety, depression hardships. He faced so many hardships, and also abt his parents. I'm so proud of him to actually get past alongside the struggles and hate that bts faced together as well. This music video is so dark but it is real. I love him so much, he deserves the world. : ))

he was a trainee at that time but he also worked part time as a delivery boy because he needed to pay for his tuition fee. bighit wasn't aware of the accident since yoongi didn't tell them, where in BURN THE STAGE he confess to other members that he lied about it, when he say he fell down the stairs when in fact he had an accident. he got hit by a car in an intersection and when he opened his eyes he see the wheel right in front of his eyes. he couldn't move his shoulder. he didn't tell it to the company knowing that they'd let him go.
the visualization really fits amygdala perfectly since the song itself talk about yoongi's bad experiences and trauma. his mom's heart surgery, his father's cancer, and the accident he had which he couldn't tell anyone at that time..
this is actually a visualization of what happened, yoongi whos just laying there on the floor thinking his future scattered little by little knowing he is about to lose his dream for this accident, the trailer makes me realized on how he's so authentic and so brutally honest with this, this marks as the most frightening moments of his life.
And I think it's very brave of him to illustrate the hardships he went through.
He said that if he had gone a few more inches under the car, he would have been killed. 😢
I cannot imagine how difficult it was for Yoongi to dance some of those early BTS routines with his shoulder the way it was... he is a very strong person to have come out the other end of all that trauma as well and adjusted as he has.... he also continued to produce and write songs throughout it all too... amazing intestinal fortitude... This video is about when happened In 2012 When suga was a trainee, he works as a delivery boy and he accidently hit by a car and injured his shuolder, its been a year that he did'nt said to agency about his shoulder injury, it because he was scared that if they know about it he gonna be kick out in bts.
The agency big hit said that they would help suga about his school payments and his shoulder surgery if suga would said it earlier.
In 2020 suga just had his shoulder surgery, so many award shows he did'nt attend. Its been like a month he was gone for surgery recover

(Not so) fun fact this amygdala is real story of suga from his strugleling his depression, ocd, panic attack, trauma from the past from mom hearts surgery when he was born, and his dad fight with cancer,also the hit and run accident when he was a delivery boy and broke hia shoulder but he was too afraid to tell the agency,he need the money tough for pay his university. So back then he got so much hate comment that he was a lazy dancer, the fact that he need to bared his broken shoulder and do the BTS crazy choreaograph 😢😢😢, I love this song soo much, its a bitter song

The first time i heard Yoongi's album amygdala hit me directly in my heart this was the first set of lyrics that i read and it broke my heart, i cried so much. Now that we have visuals that goes along with it, it's even more heartbreaking. The scar was self-inflicted from the battles he had with himself due to all the traumatic events that took place in his life. Yoongi is a real fighter. The fact he went through all of this and decided to share everything with us shows that he trusts us so much, i can't imagine how hard it was for him to relive all these moments with writing this song. I am so proud of the man he has become. I am extremely proud of Yoongi. I am so grateful for him because he gives me strength everyday.
before this song we (army) knew about yoongi's mom heart surgery he has talked about that before how he had to move around a lot because of what happened to her. we knew about his accident. the car running him over and him dislocating his arm. we knew about his thoughts or attempts of suicide or self harm that was implied in one of his earlier songs years ago. but i personally did not know his dad had cancer. our yoongi has been through a lot and he is still standing i am proud of him. i think its great that with this song and video people get to know his life story.

A trivia: AMYGDALA is an almond-shaped little part of your brain where it's main purpose is to trigger your traumatic experiences. As Yoongi explained, example, you are afraid of water, and every time you see a water it reminds you of the day you nearly died because of drowning (reason why you have a phobia in water)
In AMYGDALA, the whole summary explanation is that Yoongi wanted to remove these traumatic memories inside him. He wanted to get out of that dark room, and remove himself from all the pain. As the chorus says "AMYGDALA, please save me." he is begging the amygdala to save him because these memories pains him to much.
A short memory about Yoongi, ARMYS are aware of his shoulder injury caused by the accident he had before debut. On the MV, he is riding a delivery motorcycle, and that was his job before debut because he lack money to support himself and he landed in different jobs, including being a delivery man. And that's where he met into an accident that caused his shoulder injury. But, because of the fear that they will not let him debut if the company will know about the injury, he hid it from them and continued to have medications only rather that having a surgery. In 2020, he did it already because it came from a point that he can't even lift a water bottle anymore.
The self-inflicting that he did with the cutter, some ARMYS believed the scar that Agust D had was self-inflicted. A metaphor of him doing "that" before as an escape. He also did the other way of s**c*de (pills). He mentioned that already once in his song "The Last" that when his doctor asked him, he admitted that he did that.
The thing about his parents, it's the first time we heard about that and it was really shocking for us.
An ARMY on twitter explained some of the points that can be seen through the MV. First is about the scar. Out of all the MVs that he had scars, some of us thought that it was just a scar, on the interview he did for Daecwhita, he admitted that it was just an idea and there's no meaning behind it. But now that he used the same scar in this MV, doing it by himself, maybe the scar all this time is self-inflicted. He switched his facial expression as Agust D when he had the scar which means that this persona is angry because it was in pain. As quoted, "Agust D was never a villain, he is just broken." It's also a way to understand why he usually k**ls the personas in the Daecwhita and Haegeum, because it's a metaphor of removing his past self (who's in pain and lives in anger) in the present him.
You can clearly tell as well why he said that it we have to wait for the time that him as Agust D will be back because he wanted to live as Min Yoongi and as SUGA of BTS now. He is no longer in pain, and in the midst of anger, Agust D is fading inside him. Because he is already at peace.
AMYGDALA is not Agust D, its Min Yoongi himself. For him to be this brave to tell a whole story line of his past traumatic experiences was something to be proud and admire of. It takes a lot of courage to do that. We can now clearly understand why this is his favorite among the things that he produced and wrote. He mentioned how hard it is for him to write this as he always gets emotional every time because it is very personal for him. It's his own story.
At the end of the MV, he never got out. It means that he already accepted that he will forever live with these memories.
민윤기, Min yoongi, who sings with Agust D, directly expresses his inner rawness pain fear. A person who has had a difficult and painful experience in life. The pain can turn a person into a monster, but there is a belief that if there is love, one can live while adapting to fear. Just watched him do this live in his concert. It was so good. He talked about becoming someone that had put a lot of anger into his music and now he wants to be different. He is becoming so much more and we get to see it. He really has a brilliant musical mind.

When the BTS career was just beginning, Suga was rolling out by courier and one day he was delivering orders and a car clogged him at the intersection, he had a damaged shoulder, but he did not tell this to the agency because he was afraid that he would be kicked out and with a sore shoulder he passed for a long time this situation is shown in the clip and thanks for the reaction❤😊

Suga was out a couple of months at the end of 2020 for shoulder surgery, resulting from the old car accident in 2012. I’m guessing it did not hurt constantly but it would flare up at times. You cannot tell from most their videos and performances but there are a few where it shows, holding the mic in his right hand. He said that he did special exercises, got shots, sometimes before and after each concert, and in 2020 the Black Swan and ON choreo really made it to where he could barely move the arm. (But he did a killer job with the ON choreo!). While he was out BTS did a lot of promos for Dynamite and Life Goes on. Whenever BTS did a livestream or Run BTS episode, they had a small or life sized picture of Suga in the frame, even in some interviews. When they danced at the end of the year Korean award shows (with no audience because of c0v!d) they left a space for him in the choreo. Once he appeared as a

I was crying while watching the MV 5mins after Hybe upload yesterday night.. Yoongi's accident is not new to a lot of armys, if you watch their docus and other stuff you will know why some are so affected with this song.. It's really deep and we understand now that they're (BTS) just like us.. They're also human so don't ask for more especially when they're doing live.. Some are rude sometimes.. They give us enough..

When you realise yoongi worked part time as a delivery boy in trainee days, on a heavy rainy day he met with an accident and dislocated his shoulder, the news of his mother's heart surgery and his father's liver cancer, him taking antidepressant (?) to overcome his anxiety and depression, this is all the trauma he has experienced in the early years.
AMYGDALA is part of the brain that stores trauma and fears of a human. so this AMYGDALA by Yoongi is about not to forget these trauma, its needed to survive, live and be prepared to face any such incidents in future.
This AMYGDALA is not simply any concept, its his true story, story of struggles, story of becoming a strong person he is today.

yoongi had an accident during his trainee days n hurt his shoulder but he ignored it cos he was afraid the company (big hit) might drop him off the group so he didn't even told the company that he had an accident, he hid it for years n kept dancing altho it hurt till the point he had to go to surgery in 2020 cos his shoulder got worsen...this song is so deep n has a very deep meaning close to our heart bcos yoongi pours prolly all his traumatize moments in his life...u see the agust d inside wants to get out from this traumatize memories and the yoongi outside AND the suga inside also want to help agust d to get out from that room (the room portraying his traumatize memories). k bye imma cry in the corner

This will hit you harder when you watch him grow in BTS and have listened and read to all his songs/lyrics, the unsaid reason for his behaviors... even members implies he's lazy, always sleeping, lethargic especially on early years, and yoongi too will admit he's the laziest & will come to practice late and leave early...but seriously what kind of lazy is someone who can keep up w/ BTS choreography while still using that broken shoulder & staying up all night making songs? The members only knew that his shoulder injury was serious and not just him falling on the stairs in 2017 when yoongi was drunk (he becomes talkative & hyperactive when drunk) as documented in Burn the Stage while they're having their after-concert dinner. Yoongi also had a surgery to remove his appendicitis. Jin dedicated his letter to yoongi instead of army coz he was touched by the fact that Yoongi still performed in the concert while not letting his weakened state show. Also, it feels like he sleeps better when surrounded by busyness than being alone & at night, because that way he has no time to overthink and just lets himself sleep from tiredness. Yoongi is great at hiding his pain. The rare times that he cried in front of the cam (I only remember 3 times when he saw his parents at their concert in 2015 he broke down crying crouching down the floor bowing to his parents, when they won their first AOTY in 2016 and the last day of Wings Tour in 2017) from his eyes to his cracked shaky voice, the squeak from preventing himself from sobbing, it's just so devastating seeing him cry. I only realized after AMYGDALA the meaning of his verse from their song "Moving On" in 2015 about the line "the machine in my mother's heart and the big scar", I thought it was a metaphor but it was actually literal, meaning machine used by the hospital and his mother having a heart surgery. Also another interesting fact, he have shared that when he was young he almost drowned in the beach and his father saved him that it was so scary, so Jimin asked him "Is that the reason why you never dived to the water with us?" but he just answered "No, I just don't feel like it"... but I think he was just playing it off coz he hates water, and we never did see him dive together with the members, and he doesn't know how to swim. I think that childhood incident was traumatic for him. I think he's an epitome of "weak but very strong and resilient", I wanna say more to explain this but this comment is already too long. Agust D creó uno de las mejores canciones que pueden existir, amo la valentía que tiene para darle visibilidad a estos temas tan fuertes, AMYGDALA es una joya, además supo usar correctamente el autotune, lo aprecio por eso, muchos tienen una mala idea del autotune y lo usan para tapar la nula capacidad artística que tienen, cosa que no aplica a Yoongi, pues es muy talentoso y el autotune solo termina siendo lo que es, una herramienta ¡Aplausos al gran trabajo de Agust D!
