I was like you before, I didn't want to like BTS but here I am now inside the rabbit hole thanks to AgustD aka Suga aka Yoongi, 3 names for an amazing artist. He's a rapper who produces / composes /writes for BTS and also for other international artists, you should look at his work. If you're into Sakamoto you probably would love AgustD "Interlude Set Me Free" or "Interlude Dawn" also his song "People 1" or "People" Now if you want to feel something more intense go for his trilogy: Daechwita - Haegum - Amygdala in that order. Hope you enjoy the ride and don't be scared, BTS are real artists who write their own stuff, that's what makes them so amazing.

honestly i am so excited to go down this rabbit hole. i didn't even know i was gonna be reacting to BTS today so that shows how different my expectations were for how powerful this was. (i just watched the video again and read the lyrics and theyre great) my friend who is/was a BTS fan was talking to me about them after this video telling me so much stuff about them and i instantly have so much respect for all 7 of them. the way they built themselves from the ground up is crazy to me when thinking about "idol music" but i guess they're more than just idols at that point.
and yeah i never wanted to like them and while i've only listened to 1 song properly, i can tell my opinions are going to change drastically

@@compactrhythmSame, I had preconceived notion of them before 😂. But when I encountered BTS Suga's "First Love", I was like god-damn, they actually create such great music & it's quite obvious that he had written it.
Kpop in general don't actually write nor produce their own music, they're just performer's on stage hence termed "idol". However, BTS even before they had debuted, they already wrote songs like "School of Tears" & I was very impressed since I knew that since from the beginning of their career all members had participated in creating their music.
I honestly like all BTS songs
except their Full English songs since it ain't written by them.

If you are worried about people getting disappointed in the pausing, try listening to the whole song once, then listen a second time, pausing and reacting to the lyrics.
To get the whole song you would need to understand the lyrics, in this video because of the worry about pausing , you did not really get to read any of the lyrics, the lyrics to this are very deep, the song is more than the piano, it is the music and the lyrics, that make the experience.

Woosung is a vocalist from the band The Rose. They have a lot of songs in English. You might like their song Back to Me. Agust D is pronounced like the month of August. And is the alter ego of Suga from BTS. Agust D is Suga spelled backwards plus DT for Daegu town, which is his hometown. His solo songs are always full of deep meaning. None of BTS’ English song are representative of their music as a whole. Their Korean songs are mostly written or co written by the members themselves, and produced or co produced by the members. Whereas their English songs were written and produced by outside people. I’m not sure what music you usually listen to, but BTS has songs across multiple genres. Everything from R&B to hip hop to pop, Jazz, Latin, EDM, and rock. Even some stuff with a reggae like beat. (They don’t have any country songs though, so if that is your jam you might not find anything you like) most people can find at least a couple of BTS songs that they can vibe to. Each of the members also has solo music, which they released before enlisting for their mandatory military service in South Korea.

This was a fan made MV and the clips are taken from a Disney+ documentary called D-Day, which is also the name of Suga/Agust D's most recent solo album. This song, Snooze, is on that album. It's one of my 2 favorite songs from that album actually. Yes, Suga is a songwriter, composer and producer. He's also produced for others outside of BTS and he isn't the only producer for BTS. All 7 members can now produce music; however, given how hectic and hard their schedule has been for the last 11 years, they utilize in-house producers mostly. For solo work, though, Suga/AgustD (real name: Min Yoongi) produced most of his own stuff. He did get to meet Mr. Sakamoto who was a great inspiration to him. Suga plays piano and guitar.

Hi, I check a lot of people who make reaction videos and I think you are the first person who was led to Agust D (Min Yoongi or SUGA of BTS) music through Ryuichi Sakamoto. The video you watched was a fan-made edit and it included a lot of clips from a documentary about Agust D creating his last album, D-DAY. In the said documentary, there is a part where they show Yoongi meeting with Ryuichi Sakamoto who had a big influence on Agust D music and how he developed as an artists.
I bet a lot of people in the comment section will say that lyrics are a huge part of BTS music and you should pay attention to it. I agree, they have a lot of meaningful songs. But seeing that you want to immerse in melody and lyrics seems to kind of distract you from it, I would recommend you focus on the music and lyrics separately (either read lyrics before you play a song or after). It would take some time, but as BTS fan myself, I think ignoring lyrics would take a lot from their art and message.
I'm not sure what is your music taste but I have a feeling songs like "Butter" might not be exactly your cup of tea. BTS (as a group and solo artists) have a wide spectrum of music styles and genres they try out so I'm sure there will be songs you would enjoy.
I will leave here a few titles I personally like and think you might enjoy from each BTS member:
    - RM "Smoke Sprite" and "Yun"
    - Jin "The Astronaut"
    - Suga "First Love" "Shadow"
    - j-hope "More" "Blue Side full version"
    - Jimin "Lie" "Alone"
    - V "Singularity"
    - JK "Still with you"
    - BTS "Your Eyes Tell" "Blue and Grey"

Ahh thanks so much I really enjoy reading comments like these. It makes me so much more excited to listen to more. Do you Think I should jump straight into BTS to get a bit more context on who these guys are before reacting to their solos?

    • @ralphy383
      @ralphy383 Před 5 měsíci +12

@@compactrhythm I personally think that jumping straight into the music itself is like an introduction to bts cus a majority of bts songs tend to be about themselves.
First love by suga (wings album by bts) for example, the lyrics are gorgeous and uses a piano as a metaphor for his relationship with music as a child.
The Wings album by bts has 7 solo songs that is about the 7 members. And the whole album theme is based on a book called demian by Herman Hesse and is about temptations, pain and growing up. So a full album like that maybe a great introduction to bts members and may help differentiate between each member and what solo songs vs bts songs sound like.

    • @karolinahajduk6892
      @karolinahajduk6892 Před 5 měsíci +7

@@compactrhythm Hmm... Ok, so here is what I think. In my opinion, music should come first. You might not like all the songs but their style and messages evolve quite a lot and many ARMY (BTS fans) have their personal favorite "eras" and albums. Explore.
There are a few albums that include group songs and solo songs (one for each member) - maybe it would be a good way to start? This way you can get to know them as a group but also focus on one member at a time, pay attention to their vocals, and learn who is who? Those albums are: "WINGS", "Love Yourself: Answer" and "Map of the Soul: 7".
It might be a good idea to check their solo projects first before you check their music as a group?
Depends on you - it took me a moment to learn who is who (but I got to know them in 2015 before they started individual projects) and I think I would process all the information better if I started to get to know them one by one.
It is a lot of fun to learn about them!. Since they started doing solo projects one BTS member - SUGA - created his own show called "Suchwita" as a way to give other BTS members a platform to talk about their solo music in a friendly environment. So for each member and their solo project, there is one or two episodes of "Suchwita" - Yoongi and his guests chat over food and drinks about music, inspiration and some stories from their part. It is a nice way to get to know them through your own eyes, without the bias of fan-made introduction videos (they are often informative but not always objective and up to date so if you watch those, take it with a grain of salt).

I listened to BTS for over a year and a half before I really paid attention to lyrics. After I started paying attention to lyrics, I did find a couple songs that I wasn't as interested initially (I prefer upbeat songs) but are now favorites because the lyrics meant something to me. But, being a reacter makes it difficult to ignore the lyrics all together.
I like op's suggestion to check out the lyrics before or after the video. Another option would be to watch the video twice, focusing on the lyrics probably the second time because most of their videos are eye catching enough, you will forget you are supposed to be reading the lyrics if you try to do that the first time through! 😂
      Love Smoke Sprite! 💜

I read a person commenting that they only likes BTS music in 2013-2019. Just a reminder that this is just one person's opinion.
I personally love BTS music from every era. In 2020 they released "Map of the Soul: 7" and "Be", which contain many beloved songs among their fandom, called ARMY. Starting 2022 they began to officially release solo work and each of their albums have done well. (No, they're not breaking up. They're currently doing their mandatory military service and will reunite in 2025.)
Their English trilogy "Dynamite", "Butter", and "Permission to Dance" might not have deep lyrics that their Korean songs usually do, but that doesn't mean they're bad songs. They're good, fun songs, meant to lift the spirits of people during the pandemic, and they certainly did that. "Be" is their pandemic album, containing songs in Korean, which explore the collective experience with deeper lyrics.

Thanks for reacting to this song! It was so nice that you went along with the ride, even though it wasn’t what you expected. BTS ARMYs will fill you in on info and give suggestions, including fan made explanation videos for for some songs because a lot of their lyrics are deep and have cultural references and language play that’s hard to pick up on as a non- Korean, but definitely worth watching to get a full appreciation of the songs. They do all types of genres, so some might not be your favorite, but keep listening and you’ll find one that is. Some fans don’t like Butter and Dynamite because they’re not deep, but they’re not meant to be. The group made them and released them during pandemic because they knew everyone was having a hard time and felt fans needed something fun and light and happy sounding to cheer them up. They also have songs like Life Goes On and Blue & Gray that express more of the feelings of what people were going through during that time, as well as over a decade’s worth of other music. It’s okay to be a BTS fan. ARMYs are all ages, genders, and races from around the world. ARMYs can be very passionate, but that passion comes from a place of joy and if you learn more, you’ll see that it also gets directed towards creating a better world through charity work and supporting love for yourself and others. I hope you go on a BTS journey, even if it’s offline, that helps you appreciate how special they are. Borahae! 💜

Suga/Agust D (he goes by his second name for his solo work) is part of the biggest group in the world - BTS.
The group consists of 7 members (including 3 rappers and 4 vocalists) from South Korea.

They collaborated with a lot of artists such as: Snoop Dogg, Steve Aoki, Juice WRLD, Wale, Lauv, Fall Out Boy, Warren G,
Jason Derulo, Erykah Badu, Muni Long, Anderson .Paak, Nicki Minaj, Megan Thee Stallion, Halsey, Becky G, MAX, J.Cole,
NLE Choppa, Kodak Black, Desiigner, Coldplay, Lil Nas X, Charlie Puth, Usher...(+more)
As a group BTS have a huge amount of songs(300+).
They are all songwriters and music producers,
most of their work is very meaningful, so reading the lyrics is really important.
They make music in a lot of different genres and styles (Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, EDM, Latin Pop, Ballad, ...+).
Each of them is very different, and all of them make their own solo stuff
so depending on what kind of music you are interested in, you really have a lot to choose from.

This was the most distracted reaction, especially for engaging an artist you admittedly are unfamiliar with. The song is an extremely deep and compassionate message to younger artists by a highly respected OG. I was hopeful when I saw a newbie engaging Suga of BTS (Agust D) but the jibber jabber felt like you were much more in tune with hearing yourself than the track. You certainly can express what you feel you need to express but with more respect for the material would have made for a better reaction. Your like percentage is low because you were more interested in hearing yourself than actually doing a reaction once you integrated the material or sections thereof.

  • @ralphy383
    @ralphy383 Před 5 měsíci +23

Let me try to answer all of your questions. You can obviously look the information up, but I can explain from the perspective of a fan.
BTS are basically a team of living legends in the Korean music industry and have been making music for 10 years now.
Agust D/SUGA is 1 of 7 members of the team and he is also a producer.
    His name is pronounced
    Ah-Gust D.
The team has 3 rappers (Suga, RM, J-hope) who are also the writers, composers and producers and 4 vocalists (Jin, Jimin, V and JungKook).
Their main genre influences are hiphop, rnb and edm pop.
Agust d have said many times that Ryuichi Sakamoto is one of his influences as a producer.
The video clips used here of both Suga and Mr Sakamoto are from his documentary Road to D-DAY. And I think this song is also one of his last collaborations before he passed away.
The docu shows him meeting several artists and also producing his album D-DAY.
And yes thats his studio in the videos. And yes he plays both piano and guitar.
Woosung is the vocalist of a band called The Rose.
Also there is nothing wrong with being a bts fan. Anyone who genuinely likes music tend to like bts due to their genrelessness. BTS uses genre to convey emotion. Happy songs might be edm, moody ones sound jazzy, heartbreak is rnb, political ones are hiphop, romance is ballads, celebratory songs have rock influences.
And their writing style is always evolving as the band members keep learning new things.
It's a unique take on music.
I haven't seen many artists who have the balls to do this.
A lot of bts fans are people who listen impartially to all kinds of music.
So there is something for everyone and every situation.
Considering they have been in the industry for 10 years they have a huge discography with like close to 300 songs. And they also each have solo music. So it's basically endless music content for someone new.
If you are indeed planning to jump into this rabbit hole I would go with like full Album listens. That's the best way to respect an artists work.
D-day by agust d for example. (It is hiphop)
There is nothing that explains an artist better than an album.

You're so correct about that last statement. as much as music videos are cool, at the end of the day, they are just an advertisement for the rest of an album and usually work better in the context of an album. i'll still do MV reactions to start off but album reactions will be a blast to do later down the line.
Thanks for telling me how to pronounce his stage name too. Since you've already started with Suga/Agust D, I'd suggest staying with him to get to know him a little bit more before moving on. I recommend his trilogy of MVs, in this order: Daechwita, Haegeum, Amygdala. The songs themselves tackle different themes (a diss track, a social commentary, and a personal story), but the MVs are connected by their symbolism and narrative. Note: Daechwita is a genre of traditional Korean music that's performed when the army is marching or the king is coming. Haegeum is a term for the liberation from the forbidden. Amygdala is the part of the brain that processes memories and emotions, including traumas.

@@compactrhythm Hummm... it's pretty much up to you. But I do suggest that if you chose to stick with only the solo work for now, that you give a chance to a least one song from each member, bc they all have solo careers and they all do very different genres from eachother, and as fans we like to give love and support to all of them. IDK much abt your music preferences, but there are things to appreciate in every member's solo work even if it's not a genre you usually listen to. V's solo work is usually R&B and Jazz, and altough those are not ususally genres of music I listen to, many of his songs have made their way into my playlists bc of how captivating they are (winter bear, For Us and Rainy Days come to mind). You don't have to like every song you listen to from a BTS member or even BTS as a group, and any real fan will say the same thing, as long as you give them a chance and are respectful of the work they put in, no one will have a problem with you listening to a member's solo work or group song and not being really into it, so don't be afraid to say your honest oppinions.
The seven members solo suggestions (3 rappers and 4 vocalists):
      - RM or Namjoon (leader, rapper): Wildflower, Forever Rain, All Day
      - Suga or Agust D or Yoongi (rapper): Shadow, Never Mind, Daechwita
      - J-Hope or Hoseok (rapper): On the Street, More, P.O.P (piece of peace)
      - Jin or seokjin (vocalist): Abyss, The Astronaut, Tonight
      - V or taehyung (vocalist): Rainy Days, Slow Dancing, Winter Bear
      - Jimin (vocalist): Set me free pt.2, Like Crazy, Alone
      - JK or jungkook (vocalist): Standing Next to You, Yes or No, Too Much
OFC these are just suggestions, I know how daunting it can seem bc they have A LOT on their catalog, and fans (ARMY) will suggest you their entire discography of over 400 songs over the last 11 years if they could. So take your time, and give the attention and care each song you chose deserves, and if you get confused abt lyrics don't be afraid to ask questions, they sing and write in another language so not every translation is 1 to 1.
If you do chose to do group songs, as per the members own suggestion for beginners, I recommend you listen to the songs on their anthology album "Proof" (specifically the songs from disc 1 in order), bc they compiled the songs they think will give ppl a good introduction to BTS music, the songs range from their debut in 2013 to the last album they put out before taking a break to focus on their solo projects and also join the south korean military which is mandatory.
I used to think I wouldn't be into BTS music and rejected them for the longest time bc they were so popular. Huge mistake on my part. Everything I thought I knew abt BTS and their music I had to throw out the window as I started to learn more abt them and listened to their music. I wish I had given them a chance earlier. But as the saying goes, "you don't find BTS, BTS finds you when you need them the most". You'll have fun.

OK. This was rough ngl. For anything BTS or any of their solos you can PAUSE AS MUCH AS YOU NEED! We will watch! You can not pause all you other stuff if that is what you want. But since your inclination is to pause, I would go with that! Trust yourself. You can always watch it through for lyrics and then rewatch for the flow or vice versa. Their lyrics are actually deep and meaningful. This one he wrote to comfort those in the industry who are up and coming and suffering and working so hard not knowing if their efforts will pay off. He got to visit Sakamoto in the last year of his life. There is Documentary about the making of his album called DDAY and that meeting is included. Agust D (pronounced like the month of August) is Suga of BTS (which I am sure has been explained) and he has always been the biggest fan. He said they made an excuse to do some work where he was living but his main goal was to get to visit him and share his song with him. It was pretty special. I actually think you would love BTS (despite you declaring you don't want to like them). I feel ya. I am a punk girl from birth. And grew up WAY AGAINST what I perceive as Boy Bands and that is how everyone in America pubs BTS is just a boy band. But I've come to find out so much more and hate when they are categorized like this. First) They have always been part of the creative process and have written their lyrics and beats. Second) They got their start in HipHop and tried adding vocals and choreo from the KPOP world at a time when that wasn't really a thing. As a result they were shunned by both the HipHop and Kpop world. So they said screw it and did their own thing in their own way and now everyone tries to copy that format. Third) They are big on what they say. It comes from their hearts and souls and when something does seem like it may be a love song it is most likely a song for their fans called army. Their lyrics are also typically meaningful on several levels, so if you just want to stop at the basic level you can but there are usually explanation videos that show what was going on additionally. RM is brilliant and writes most but Suga (this guy) started out hoping just to be a rapper and producer and has even won awards for producing songs for others. They all have written and produced various BTS and now solo songs. Fourth) Keep your mind open and don't be scared. You said BTS fans are crazy and some are but if you actually give them a chance and read lyrics (even if you don't like a song) it is okay and the actual fans (army) will support that. Fifth) They are all about spreading positivity and making the world a better place. If you want, there is an incredible 47 minute documentary called Bangtan Guide to BTS by Taylor Mari. I promise you, it is worth a watch and if you react to it, pause as much as you need to read and comment. Some of us have watched it many times and will return to watch it again. So long as you don't talk over it. Just pause and talk... that is not a problem at all. Seriously... I imagine you think it is weird right now, but from a person who is NOT a POP fan and NOT a boy band fan and NOT a KPOP fan. I assure you, they are a bit unique, special, talented, and their music and what they have to offer the world is worth a watch. Good luck if you choose to take another step in the journey. And if you find you like it, just embrace it. Life is too short to not know BTS. And just for reference Butter and Dynamite (are two of their biggest songs of all time) and they are legitimately my least two favorite BTS songs. BTS are so versatile, and span many genres. They sing in Korean, Japanese, and parts of English (despite only one member who speaks English). And they love Sakamoto for crying out loud. Hip Hop artists who love Sakamoto... what is not to love? If you do just stick with "this guy" I recommend Polar Night and also Amygdala. Even though Amygdala is technically a precursor intended to watch last as part of a trilogy. It is absolutely fine to watch it alone. He does not have many slow songs and I don't particularly like the other two but as a punk girl, I absolutely love everything else he's ever done. This song, is one of my faves though. I hope you will sit down and actually listen to it on your own and enjoy the piano and the lyrics and singing and the flow. What a fun way to start a BTS journey, should you do so. Don't listen to haters... they will subside once you are able to pause when you want to talk and listen when the video plays. That's all we want. Be well. :)

Woosung is from the Band called The Rose. Ryuichi Sakamoto died not long after this. Sakamoto was a Japanise pianist Suga(aka Agust D) looked up to and got to met before he died.
Lyrics are always extremely important when it come's to anything the BTS men write and are with this track.
Some time's it's easier to listen and watch then go back to the beginning and read the lyrics.
Some of us are used to reading lyrics and watching a MV or non English films/series with subtitles it's a bit confusing at first but after a doing it a few time's it starts to becomes second nature to be able to do both at once.

Agust D is the name Suga uses in his solo activity. It's Suga backwards and DT for his hometown Daegu (Town). Suga and the rest of the members are indeed artists. Suga is the primary producer out of the members and he's even won awards as a producer. in recent years he's been making songs for many succesful korean artists. He is obviously a songwriter and composer. im not trying to be mean but this reaction was kinda painful to watch, cuz this song means so much for Suga, he broke down crying while singing it during his tour last year. this song contains the message he wants to send to younger artists as well as to his younger self. he's been thru a lot and his work is usually full of powerful and raw messages like this. also, just because some people might find their three english songs too western or stuff like that it doesnt mean theres no reason behind releasing them or that theyre bad songs, nor did they stop putting out "good music" in 2019, thats coming from people that dont really know or follow bts, mostly kpop fans or antis.
i too was skeptical about bts cuz i dont listen to kpop (i still dont), but here i am as an army, with bts being my favourite artists. in order to trully appreciate bts you need to get a lot of additional information, more than just giving the song a listen, because their work is far more meaningful and complex than people think, so it can be overwhelming at first to get into them but its definetly worth it

This song IS very cozy and comforting, but one has to read the lyrics to understand a foreign language. I was glad to see that a first time listener actually turned on the subs, especially for a song as lyrically eloquent as this one, but was dissapointed that you didn't spare them a glance. I belive this song deserves a second chance, with you this time paying attention to it's heart, the message, since he's not just "yapping" as you called it.

Imagine thinking one of the most successful musical groups of all time is “mid”? Sheesh. If you don’t want to be a BTS fan, then don’t be. There are millions of us, we’ll be fine lol. “Butter” might not be your cup of tea but it’s kinda egotistical and disrespectful to keep calling it bad when it was just about as successful as a pop song could possibly be. Broke a bunch of records. The video is great, they even have a couple of fun/parody versions because in the end, it’s just a fun pop song. If you don’t like it, that’s fine, but judging artists as prolific as BTS off of one song is way more cringe than wearing Supreme in 2023 😂
If you want to stick around, BTS as a group has a ton of music from a ton of genres, though most of their songs that are well-known in the west are pop songs since that’s what we’ll play on the radio over here. Their Korean songs span a ton of genres and styles, and their solo music branches out even more. Agust D - SUGA in BTS, Min Yoongi - is largely rap and hip hop, though he’s a musician, composer, songwriter and producer of many genres. His parents took him to see The Last Emperor when he was young, and he fell in love with the soundtrack and with Ryuichi Sakamoto’s music. Yoongi got to meet him shortly before Ryuichi passed away, and “Snooze” was the last project before he passed away, shortly before Yoongi released his solo album D-Day. If you’re interested in checking out more of his music, you can search for Agust D or SUGA to find more music.
I don’t know what other kinds of music you like, but BTS has a ton to explore. In addition to Agust D (SUGA), RM and J-Hope are two other artists that are mostly hip hop and rap-focused. They both have a ton of solo music, some of it featuring artists like J. Cole, Erykah Badu, Anderson.Paak (Silk Sonic), Wale, etc. The vocalists - Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook - have wildly successful solo projects as well. Jungkookie just broke some records with his debut English album “Golden,” and did a remix of his track “Standing Next to You” with Usher. Chris Martin from Coldplay loves BTS and Jin so much that he collabed on a farewell song for Jin called “The Astronaut” - the last thing Jin released before enlisting in the military for his mandatory service.
They’re all doing their mandatory military service at the moment and will reunite in 2025, so there’s lots of time to explore BTS and catch up if you really want to. If you don’t - then don’t. I think I speak for a lot of ARMY when I say we’d rather you check them out and decide it’s not for you and stay away than force yourself to watch for views. We can tell when people aren’t into it.

Idk if you heard my reasoning to why I said butter was mid but it's because I spent a long time practicing a guitar cover for it that I know the song inside and out. It's probably just a me problem. I'm not close minded like you probably think I am. I know this group has lots of music and probably something for everyone (hence why I am here). I would never base a group/band off one song as you claim I did

Just like you introduced to BTS music from Mr. Sakamoto, I became a fan of his music by his encounter with Suga in his documentary. We don't mind you pausing to read/ ask question/ share your thoughts, because it's a way to communicate, and I've read your reply to the comments about reading the lyrics and re-watch the video, and I appreciate your willingness, so thank you.

    - introduction to bangtan 7 by Taylor mari (it's a bit long, but it's good one if you want to know more about the group)
    - Songs: black swan, louder than bombs, spring day, mic drop

Woosung is the lead singer for a rock group called The Rose. Another group of amazing artists. SUGA aka Agust D, is a rapper, producer, songwriter for BTS. There are 3 rappers and 4 vocalists in BTS. They are all serving their mandatory military service right now. They will return in June of 2025 and come back together as a group. They renewed their contract with their label, so expect a comeback in late 2025, early 2026. They already have their comeback planned, and they were working on some of it before enlisting. I promise you that Agust-D and/or BTS' music is not what you expect. Many have pre-conceived notions that they are a Pop (Western-style) boy bad group. Nothing could be further from the truth. It must be said that they have some of the most meaningful and deep lyrics and are worth exploring. I understand you should enjoy the music first, then go back and tr to understand what they are saying. I promise you it will be worth your time. Also, take a breath, relax and enjoy the music.

Pay attention to the song, read the lyrics, and pause to comment... when you talk a lot it seems you are not interested in listening to the song nor understanding the lyrics, just in hearing your voice.
Agust D is Dt Suga backward. Suga from BTS is from Daegu Town.

I could tell you lots but at the end of the day it's your choice and your opinion. But don't be prejudiced. Just cause they're pop or kpop or a boyband. Hi, nice reaction, ty. Though honestly this was the most distracted reaction, especially for engaging an artist you are not familiar with. I watch a lot of reaction videos and I think you are the first person who was led to Agust D (Min Yoongi or SUGA of BTS) music through Ryuichi Sakamoto. I only knew of Ryuichi Sakamoto very vaguely myself. Suga/Agust D was the one who helped me learn more about him. Suga/Agust D is a huge fan of his work. He has been a fan for many yrs. It was his dream to meet him and talk with him. As u can see in the video he does get to meet him. It's really cool. The army/fan who made this video used the live stage clips and Suga/Agust D documentary clips and some others to make her video. A lot of the video was from the documentary. In it we see him working on his D-day album. It was really cool. I want to rewatch that documentary so bad. But i don't have Disney. Sigh. Lyrics are a huge part of BTS music and you should pay attention. Your right that Suga/Agust D spits fast. He does and so do the other rappers. If u cannot keep up read and watch at the same time than u have to pause. If u don't want to pause watch 1st listen to the song. Watch the images. Then rewatch and pay attention to the lyrics. many reactors do this. Not everyone can read fast and watch at the same time. i am pretty good at it myself doing both because of all my years watching anime. But even i pause and go back multiple times with BTS's music. Sometimes they really are on a roll and the flow is just so good. =0] Doolset is the best place to read lyrics for their Korean songs. She made a site and translates to the best of her ability. She also adds extra details that help u understand things better. Genius is another site u can use for their Japanese songs. They have a lot of meaningful songs. I think i read u like rock. I would suggest u check out boracity magazine channel about why rock fans like BTS. =0p But anyway if u like rock pls check out Dionysus. There is no MV for it. But u can just listen to it or see a live. doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com/2019/04/13/dionysus/ Another song u might like is Fake Love. JHope of BTS the 3rd rapper in the group has a rock inspired album Jack in the Box. His song More and Arson the title track both have MVs. U can check those out. And Suga/Agust D's album D-day is rock influenced too to some degree. U might like Haegeum which has an MV. But this song is part of a trilogy with Amygdala being the 3rd song and Daechwita from his 2nd mixtape D2 being the 1st to start us off. All three are complicated and u really have to pay attention to it all so maybe save these for later. My fav songs by BTS are "Your Eyes Tell" which is Japanese OST and Stay Alive by JK produced by Suga also OST. The vocals and melody and overall vibe just really stuck with me. I love a lot of their songs and i am learning to read the lyrics. I am also trying to pay attention to the MV more too. BTS and the members make u think often. They help u grow as a person. Woosung is from a rock band called The Rose. This was a 1st collab for them. Many of us loved his vocals and looked into his bands music. The Rose will be performing in USA this year at Lollapalooza. It's a big deal for them. I love the growth. They are really good. Very talented. Borahae. -NY USA 2019 Army💟
    My suggestions;
    - RM "Smoke Sprite" by Soyoon
    - Suga "Shadow", "Daechwita"
    - j-hope "More"
    - Jimin "Lie" & "Set Me Free pt.2"
    BTS "Dionysus" & "Black Swan"

Mic Drop is easy to find. The others, especially as new as you are to BTS, can be tricky. I'll recommend the following links that might help. In general, we always prefer LIVE if it is an option because they are somehow better live than studio. No lie! And always look for Eng Subs. There is a channel called Enjoy BTS More and she is absolutely brilliant at putting the best captions with live performances. Sometimes the subs and captions aren't always great but she works hard to put the best translations to the live performances.

Being honest, I love Ryuichi Sakamoto (R.I.P master), piano is one of my weaknesses (Yoongi is another one tbh), besides the music itself, so I find his works always beautiful. Yoongi or SUGA or Agust D, is a big fan and admirer of him, and he is really very good at playing the piano (among many other things in which he is very talented), you should listen to his interludes are beautiful (such as "Interlude Set Me Free", "Interlude Dawn" or "Over the Horizon" for Samsung)!!!
Personally, I wasn't that interested in K-pop music (korean popular music in general, and especially idol), until I met Yoongi. I love rap, and really, he made me cry the first time I heard him (First Love and Intro: Never mind). It was a one-way street. Then I started to find out more about their music, all the guys' music, and their lyrics, compositions and so on, and I discovered that I love them and that they are very different from the rest. I like the fusions they make and the fact that they are incredible artists and people.
I hope you can give them a chance and, above all, I recommend you to watch the lyrics, either in the video or search in Genius or some page for their translation so you can have a general idea of the song, because their lyrics are WORTH it!
    Thanks for the reaction!

Yes Suga (aka Agust D) can play guitar but foremost he's a is a classically trained musician on the Piano hence in Blood, Sweat and Tear's he plays the church organ and the piece he plays is a classical piece it's called Passacaglia in D minor by Buxtehude.
Yeah BTS members are also musicians they just don't play in a band as it's rather difficult to play sing rap and dance all at the same time.
A member may occassionally play a musical instrument on stage lets think. Suga has played both Guitar and Piano as has Jin played both on stage while singing as those 2 instruments mean you can at least sing and play or Rap and play. Jungkook has played drums on stage. We've heard him play guitar as well it's in their Run BTS series and I think one of the In the Soop esiposides however I'm not sure I've remembered correctly but someone will come along and correct me if I've citied the incorrectreference.
We've heard V jamming with the band on saxophone that's at the end of His Band Practice for his Tiny Desk Solo Concert.
On Weverse we've seen and heard RM playing his keyboard while a wee bit drunk at first he was getting his fingers mixed up and apologised but then he played it perfectly that was a classical piece of music as well.
Jimin we've seen at a keyboard working out a melody for one of his solo songs for his solo album Face.

Thanks for taking your time to react even youre not familiar with the artist. The song is really deep and very emotional and you miss a lot of digesting the true meaning of the lyrics that Suga ( when he is in BTS ) but Agust D when he is doing a solo, you miss a lot of noticing the meaning of the song bcoz you talk a lot while the song's played. Maybe next time you pause when you react or play first the entire song and then react. It's just a suggestion.

You need to react to The Rose! Back to Me is a great introduction song or Alive! They are similar to the other Korean rock band you have listened to. Woosung is the lead singer for them.

5:39 so the clip of him playing (and all the video material) is from his documentary Road to D-day and he plays a live version of the song in the docu. This is a fan made edit mv and the song you hear is the studio version.

The whole point of the song is the lyrics you keep talking over it and just so disrespectful towards a serious song like this and it was the last thing ruichi sakamoto did before he passed

Give yourself permission to explore the wide variety of genres BTS not only sings, raps and dance to but writes and composes. It has been worth my time to invest some time in reading the lyrics and researching the various layers of meaning, the social commentary in their own work (some of their English songs were written by others but they write and compose most of the rest even if sometimes in collaboration: check the behind the scene videos, those are not collab in lip service, they are doing the work!). Don't let their fame and English songs influence you that they are just popular and catchy: there is a lot of depth, their MVs are mini movies, they put a lot of effort not just into the quality of the songs and their vocals but into a demanding choreography while they sing live, which is quite a feat in itself. It's ok not to like a song, lol: there cover a wide variety of topics, genres and tastes.
