  • I discuss why I fell in love with the Sony a6600 and 20 f2.8 lens while on a project in Ethiopia. It's so small it can fit in my pants pocket, while being powerful enough to create high quality imagery I expect to get from any tool I bring in the field.

    I recently tried this combo. dangggg it’s amazing. And this lens looks awesome with a square lens hood. Gives it a sweet rangefinder look

    I picked up the a6600 last year, sold my Canon 5D mkii and a bunch of canon glass. I shoot real estate for work, but have been wanting something more discreet for my own personal stuff. I thought that Fujifilm was the only solution, but after seeing this I’m definitely gonna get the 20mm f/2.8. Thanks for the review!

      it's definitely handy to have if you have 6000 series cameras. Hopefully it works out for you!!

    Do you still recomend this or maybe another model for this same application in 2024? Im planning to get the RX100 VII, but having the flexibility of interchange lenses is something that I also want to have.

      The rx100 line is nearly impossible to beat for having something on you all the time. I am still using a rx100v and love it. It's also probably half the size of this. I just got back from a little family vacation where my rx100 took more photos than my a7 cameras. That being said, it's not the best in low light situations. If you're gonna be in darker environments a lot then maybe stick to the a6600 or if you want to jump slightly in size the a7c line for full frame. I haven't gotten my hands on the a7c line for testing yet so i can't give first hand advice.

    Does it make use of the full potential of the A6600 AF capabilities in photography? I want it fornthe A6400.

    Did you test this combination for video? Is the a6600's stabilization adequate? Thanks!

    Looking to get a pocket camera and I think I might end up with the a6100 + 20mm f2.8. I already have the XT4 that I use for my hardcore stuff, but I want something that's better than my phone and yet similar to the Ricoh GRiii.
    Quick question, does the 20mm make loud noises when focusing?

    • @seisenbach
      @seisenbach  Před 2 lety

      I didn't notice a loud noise. It's also been almost 2 years since I used this combo so I can't be totally sure.
