    Excellent lesson! I guarantee that the people responsible for coming up with the idea of using gold metallic for the pencils info were under the age of 40-50. I'm lucky to get a glimpse of a number if the light hits it just right and the stars and planets are all aligned with a blue moon. 😂😵

    I have been doing some more reading and found info on undertones and overtones. Just to make sure I understand, the colors that are swatched out, those are the overtones, correct?

    • @ColorMyWorld
      @ColorMyWorld  Před rokem +1

      The undertone is like the hidden color in a color. So a Brown can be a red brown or a yellow brown. It makes a huge difference when blending because sometimes you are using a color and the undertone sneaks in a distorts it. I am going to start my color guidance videos soon and will review this concept. My Dad has been sick, but he is coming home tomorrow. I will have more time for CZcams

    I'm not sure where I picked it up (probably from my painting days) but _maintaining_ the tonal value was the most important thing. It's going to be hard for me to go against that instinct, but will try. I've been instinctively trying a lot of this, but I didn't know why or how. Good stuff!

    • @ColorMyWorld
      @ColorMyWorld  Před 3 lety

      Maybe you misunderstand because it goes for painting too. Then again it could be because you are creating the paint so you want to maintaing the same tonal value each time.

    Lori I bought both courses-but I have been using the spring hill vellum that Jennifer stat recommends and it doesn’t print well and it’s a little brittle meaning it has tooth but it feels like with the harder pencils a bit flimsy like the tooth is sort of tearing. Is there a better 8.5x11 printing paper I can get for the drawing sets? I also need a recommendation of paper for the prismacolor color combo sets.

    • @ColorMyWorld
      @ColorMyWorld  Před 3 lety

      The link to the paper is in the description. It's something with a longer name. It's what I use for all my coloring. 67 pound.

      Color My World 🤦‍♀️I ended up seeing it after the comment. I hope it holds up Better than the springhill. Wasn’t too impressed with it. Is the Neenah vellum what you use for the prismacolor cards as well? It looked like you brought some other paper on your field trip to the copy store. I tried to color over the prints fir the prismacolor card sets but it didn’t work to well. Trying to figure out if it’s because the printer put out a gloss over the paper or it’s because of the paper I used for it. For the color cards I used the pen gear cardstock it’s a bit smother than the springhill vellum but has a tad bit of tooth. Also you said to get our color cards ready. I thought I heard you talk about the polys. Will you be getting the combos for the polys for us. Wasn’t too excited about not having the tritones in the deli. But I did purchase the delis from Andy per your recommendation and I am happy to use them also in the course but prefer the polys just cuz there will be easier trios to set uo
