I use old chess pieces for dauber handles. As long as they have a solid bottom they’re great.
LOVE THAT IDEA !!!!
What a fun idea! 😃❤️
That's a super idea
Super duper great idea.
Oh! Now I have to find some old chess pieces!
For extra inking handles, I use old sewing thread spools; I hot glue the scratchy velcro onto the spool, then attach the inking pad to that. It works like a dream, and is upcycling what I already have.
Excellent Idea !! thanks for sharing !!
Great idea, thanks! ❤️
Rolodex cards for swatches sounds like such a great idea! Thank you so much for sharing your organizational thoughts! Hugs! Peggy
Way to go. Your organization looks wonderful and I’m sure it must feel a lot better as well
You’re craft room is so wonderful. You have inspired me to have fairy lights in my room. They are so bright and cheery , yet cozy at the same time. I just love seeing them when I walk in. Thank you for all you’re ideas and sharing what you’ve done. I swear it’s an ongoing process isn’t it?
I covered my ceiling with fairy/Christmas lights with a remote. Warm light. It's not enoght to craft with but I like the feel anyway.
@@denisehampton3102 I bet it looks wonderful ❤️
Fairy lights are everything! They make the room magical! 😃
@@49dragonflies yes they do
Love the idea of using old chess pieces as dauber handles! I have used old wooden thread spools. Just attach a piece of circle Velcro. Great organizing ideas! Hugs and blessings, 🇨🇦🤗❤️
Oh Barbara, I love your craft room, it is beautiful and I love your artwork. I am nearly 70 and I have multiple sclerosis, but I love to collage and though it can be difficult, I just love it and I love to watch your videos. I am an Australian and I love your accent. Keep up the lovely work,
Thank you so much! ❤️
Wow 👍
I use wine and champagne corks instead of the dauber with the handles - just glue on some velcro!
Thanks for the tip! ❤️
And you get to drink the wine. Win win
@@sandikalin636 and I have loads of them just hanging around🤣
@@JessicaHarris haha
So very helpful. You are so organized and have encouraged me to get my supplies organized before I have gathered any more. So thank you oh so much.
You are so welcome! ❤️
Love your giggle. Sooo cute.
One thing I've done is to glue the inking pads onto wine corks. Works great!
Thanks for sharing your craft room. It’s hard but fun to set up your room. And it will continue to be a work in progress because if course we never stop adding stuff. I have to say how fun it would be to receive all those orders in one day!
What is perfect right? If it works for you, it’s perfect ❤
So much inspiration!! I love all the organization ideas. I have so much work to do! What a brilliant brush rest! So fun and special! Thank you for sharing! 💕
You are going to love the book. The movie was good, but definitely read the book
Organized and pretty!!
I was so happy to see another Studio VLOG. It is nice to get inspired by your videos and get to know you a little better with the vlogs. Your studio is super cozy and functional.
Thanks so much! ❤️
My response to this was Thank God. Now I know what to do next.
Thank you for the great ideas!
Oh wow! I loved this blog! Luises card with the trees on it is so lovely. It shows how something as simple as 3 trees can be so aesthetically pleasing. Comforting even. Just beautiful. I enjoyed seeing how each area is taking shape and becoming so organized for you. Also, as you use things, you’ll see what really works for you and what doesn’t. Like your Rolodex file. This was just so fun. 31 minutes just flew by! I loved this. ♥️♥️♥️
Thanks so much! 😊❤️
Maybe make a longer label and put ink on it and place it on the ink container. Then make a smaller label with the name of the ink on it and place it over the colored label.
I love your organization! I seem to always gravitate toward cute and forget about the function. You were so brave to set aside your other container for the blending brushes in favor of the glasses. It looks great and is so functional. A lesson I need to learn. You are going to love Where the Crawdads Sing. In my book group we usually have a wide range of opinions on the books we read but this was one of the few books we all loved!
Thanks so much! Looking forward to the book! 😃❤️
Loved the video. Thanks for sharing ❤
I put my circles underneath my pads with Velcro strips. Did this a long time ago and it works really well. I have 8 handles, so that is enough to have one for each pad when making a project.
You will LOVE the new book and movie, I just watched the movie last night. It was also wonderful. I loved Luise's ink organization videos and hope to do something similar soon. I just moved my craft room and it is not in any kind of working order. I am going through every item and paper to make sure what should stay and what should go. I have crafting supplies of all kinds from up to 30+ years ago. UGH!! Have fun!! Vicky
Use what you've got💖💓👍😂lol. I don't need new stuff for years lol
I'm in the same boat.
Good luck with the reorganization! ❤️😃
Oh Barbara! If you are a visual reader you are going to love this book! It is so well written. It will out you right there in the marsh. I even created a page in my journal based on the book. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Thanks! Really looking forward to it! ☺️
You’ll love your new book and the movie is terrific!
Thank you for sharing your ideas on how to organize our supplies. I saw Luise's video. Both of you have been very helpful.😊🤗💙🧡
You can go to the Ranger website and print out labels for all your sprays, inks and oxide pads. They are very helpful!! 🥰
How can a person be more organized than she already is?! I would be thrilled if my room was half that organized.
Barbara, I always love watching your videos. You always inspire me. The organization is something I think we all struggle with, I know I do. Some great ideas to think about, will they work for me? Maybe.... Thank you!!!!
Oh Barbara I'm so glad that you got that book. I read Where the Crawdads Sing and it was excellent couldn't put it down. I was like you... I know the movie was out but I thought I got to read the book first and I'm glad that I did.. it's always a lot more involved... so enjoy I know you will, it was excellent...
Thanks for letting me know. I read 4 chapters, like it so far 😊
Hello Barbra, I just wanted to say I enjoyed watching your vlog and it gave me ideas for my crafting space, I got myself one of theos rolodex stands and didn't want to use the plastic sheets that the business cards go into, However I didn't through them away I found a very good use for them, I use them to help my die cuts fall from the die, I was so happy with the way it worked I needed to share it with you, the way I use them is to put the plastic sheet on the bottom plate the the card that I want to cut out on top of the sheet, then the die on top and then put the plate that goes on top and run it through my die cutting machine, it makes the card fall off the die so easily with most of the little bits, you may have to put an extra shim in between the plates but I didn't need to. you can use the sheets more than once as well so they last for a good few die cuts projects, I hope You give it a go and that they work for you too, Take care and stay safe x
Thanks so much for your kind feedback and tip! 😊❤️
Wow wonderful ideas. I store my finger daubers upside down so I can just stick my finger in and never have to touch the inked side
That’s also a great idea! How do you see which is for which color?
Your room is amazing. I have discovered our craft rooms will always be in “reorganization mode.” As art lovers, there is always something new we discover that we “need.” I’m so happy that your donations are allowing you to grow and I cannot wait to see the next level you take in your creations. 🥰
I bought some cotton reels and glued the foam pads to the bottom of them. I would use Velcro next time so I can swap them more easily when they get worn out xx
Hi Barbara - I've always been so impressed with how organized your videos and presentations are, and now your craft room. I've also struggled with the dauber handle and sponge thing, but you've inspired me to try something new- using the business card sleeve to store the sponge in for the color shown on the Rolodex card. If you use one Rolodex card for both ink and oxide, you could sew a vertical line down the sleeve to make two compartments per sleeve; one for each ink and oxide. I'm going to try it. It will save buying more wooden handles and having to label them all.
At the beginning of each new project you can take out the number of handles you need to correspond with the number of colors you will be using, stick the sponges on for the duration of the project then put them all away when the project is finished. Hope this makes sense. I think it's going to work well for me and I would never have thought of it without yours (and by extension, Louise's) help! Huge thanks.
Thanks so much! I like your sponge idea! I will think about it! I hope it works for you!! (Side note: I never know which it how many colors I will be using in advance 🤣)
You can glue daubers on thread spools. Cheaper than dauber handles.
I built a spinning tower to house my Ranger inks. There’s room for 40 and a spot for the round dauber pads which I adhere with Velcro. I’ll post a link to the video on CZcams that I followed. Also, now that you have a Rolodex, you can start making MemoryDex Cards! I bet a few hundred of us (at least) would be happy to send you one of our creations to build up your Spinner. 😘
Thanks for sharing the idea and the video! Looks good! ❤️
Barbara, you are such an organized artist! Thanks for all the great ideas.
My husband loved that book. We watched the movie on date night and he filled me in on his assessment. I couldn’t wait to watch the movie.
Your setup is amazing! And it's always so motivating to have a clean, organized space.
Wow… so much work has gone into your space. It looks amazing! The dabber cases are fantastic and so useful. I have three of them and labeled them all, and have bought refill dabbers to replace them as needed. I recently purchased blending brush storage from Stampin’Up. Each one holds 9 brushes. I believe you have Stampin’Up demonstrators in Germany so you might be interested in checking that option out. Thanks for sharing your lovely studio. ❤your videos.
Thanks for the tip! ❤️
Oh the movie Where the crawldad’s sing was so good!!!!
Yay for you Barbara! I love how you have reorganized your workspace 💕
I agree with you, Luise’s swatch series was life changing. Your room is looking so good!💙
I put my foam in a small plastic bag and use my ATG gun to stick the bag on the back of the ink pad. The pads sit in their space just fine. As far as the Rolodex goes, you can make one with 2 wooden dowels in the center of a rectangle box. Plenty of space on each side. I believe there are videos for those on CZcams
Thanks for the tips! ❤️
I just watched that movie. I am so glad I found you, Thank You.
Barbara, your craft room look absolutely amazing and so well organised. Thank you for sharing your ideas on storing oxides. Very helpful ❤
Wow I love what you did! Your end results are fabulous! I agree we will always change things, and that makes us happy!
Hello dear Barbara! I don't have a craft room (still trying to craft in my living room), but I love your organizing vlogs and mostly how beautiful, organized, and inspiring your craft room looks! 🤗🤗🤗 (I also love the view from your window!) I have an idea for your rolodex since I saw its small pockets. Since you don't have a wooden handle for all your round sponges, maybe you could store your round sponges into the rolodex pockets! I believe they must fit in them. I don't know if this is a good idea, but you can try it and see how it works. 🙄🙄🙄 Sweet greetings from Greece, Elena. ❤🩷❤
Thanks, dear Elena! I’m very spoiled with my craft room! 🙈 thanks for the Rolodex idea. I will think about it! ❤️
Always fun to spend time with you.💕
Thank you so much! I enjoy you so much from Oklahoma!
The Crawdads book is amazing!
That is a craft room to die for. I love it!! So organised and beautiful
Thanks so much! It’s a dream come true for me! ☺️
Such a gorgeous craft room. Loved watching this.
Our studios are always in flux as we develop new organizational strategies and change our interests with new products always being added. I love to utilize unique things like the wooden piece from Luise and the idea about chess pieces for daubers. I have also used wooden spools from thread and a Velcro dot. My studio is filled with nonart items that I have repurposed to fit my needs. Great video. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦
It may not be perfect but it’s very neat and colorful. I think it would be inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
All die Labels…puh! Vielen Dank für den Einblick und die Anregungen! Herzliche Grüße aus Hamburg von Rita! 😘😘
Vielen Dank liebe Rita! Ich hab manchmal das Gefühl das Organisieren könnte ein Vollzeit Job sein! 😃
Just Sharing a Tip; I always write the date I purchased my ink pads on the bottoms, that way I know when it's time to replace them instead of just reinking them ...
Book and movie both great - enjoy
I love your organizing system, l have to see my supplies to use them!
Love to get a look in your life. Thank you
So interesting. Love seeing it.
Looks amazing, job well done. Hugs from down under.
Great organisation ideas 😊 . Nothing is ever perfect I’m always changing things in my little space. Love your craft room ❤
Love your space! Great choice of book! Thanks for sharing!
No matter what you do, it inspires me. My crafting area is so very small, most everything is bagged up, but I know where everything is. It also makes it easy when we house and dog sit. Just bring the bags. I never wanted Where the Crawdads Sing to end. Another good book is Before We Were Yours (about a sad recount of adoption). As always, thank you for sharing. Take care, be safe.
Thanks for the book tip! ❤️
I loved that book, hopefully you will too! I always read books first and then watch the movie. They did a good job on the movie for that book.
I really enjoyed this blog. I have my distress oxides in the tins but I am more of a visual person so I like the idea of the ink storage - which I do use for my other inks.
Barbara, your desk and room look great. I didn’t read the book but I did see the movie. Loved the movie! TFS! ❤
I had a fun idea for your Rolodex: Fill it out with techniques for journaling. Have a tab for media, another for dies...fill in with 'stencil' or 'ink blend' or 'flowers' or whatever and you could spin it to get the prompts for your projects. Whichever 4 or 5 you choose is what you do that day.
Fun idea, thanks! ❤️
Beautiful!
What a beautiful craft room! I hope you love the book (and movie). I loved both! ❤
What a beautiful setup you now have sweetie 💖✨️ having it all handy, labeled and sorted by color, it's wonderful. Sending a hug 😘
Thanks sweetie! Still a work in progress 😃
Great ideas! Thanks for sharing!
You will love that book!
Your craft room is beautiful!
The Crawdad book is excellent! You’ll love it! There’s also double surge protectors and surge protector boxes to hide them as well as chord covers.
Thank you so much for sharing your new organizational tools. I've been in my new craft space for about 9 months and I am constantly trying out new ways to organize my supplies!! It's a struggle to keep so much close at hand, but if it's not within arm's reach, chances are I'm not going to go get up and get it!!!! i was also inspired by Louise's swatch videos and created mine on index cards, used a whale-tale die to cut tabs and I keep them all in a recipe box. I'm so happy for you that you got to get some more supplies with our donations. That makes me very happy!!
Thanks so much! ❤️ sometimes it seems like a full time job to keep everything organized 🤣
Beautiful craft room ❤ Dawn
So very organized. I love it!
Liebe Barbara, danke für die wirklich hilfreichen Organisations-Tipps. Das eine oder andere Tool werde ich mir jetzt auch über Deine Links bestellen. Liebe Grüße, Doreen ❤️
Oh my goodness I’m so inspired. I want to shop for all the goodies.
Love your craft room so much.
I think you will like the book
Where the Crawdads Sing.
Thank you so much for sharing Barbara. 💕
I have a tip for your storage...for the round sponge you put on the handle, you can take them off and put them on the underside of the distress pad with a velcro bit. That's how I store my round blending sponge, and it keeps them out of the way. Give it a try.
Great video, Barbara
You will enjoy the new book. I loved it.
It's gorgeous 🥰💜
❤I love it
Oh wow very nice 👍
Love it🤩❤️😍
Such great ideas! Thank you
Love it! ❤
😘😘🎉✨
Great blog!
Looks fantastic! Love the ink storage trays
Great video
This is really nice!😊
Love your craft room!!!
Looks very nice Barbara. The trays are nice. Might get them myself. I’m glad you put the brushes in the glasses. Big improvement. You’ll always be changing something. That’s just another part of junk journaling.🤣
