  • Well that just took way longer than I intended for it to take, but we got there eventually. And I guess in reality I could have done the review a couple days ago, buuuut I felt like just playing the game more and recording on a normal day. So here it is the Late(r than usual) Review of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth aka Final Fantasy VII Remake Pt. 2.
All gameplay footage and screenshots used in this video were captured by me while playing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on the PlayStation 5 using the PlayStation Share feature. I do not claim to have created Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the PlayStation 5, or the PlayStation Share feature. I simply used them as tools to enhance this video. Thank you.

Games can be a 10 on an overall enjoyment level without being a 10 on a developmental level if they do the things they do well exceptionally well. Many games from back in the day we would still claim are 10/10 games that technologically don't hold up anymore, because good design choices can overcome developmental gripes.
As someone who always argued the FromSoft games were overrated for example, I respect them a lot because while they really aren't the best developers, their design choices are great at making their developmental gripes fit the game and the world, so they become less significant. Don't wanna make lots of NPC's? Put everything in extremely desolated areas and of course they are because "giant monsters everywhere are you blind?!" Don't wanna tie up loose ends on a story that doesn't tie together? Leave the ending ambiguous and let the player decide what happens. Smart design choices overrule developmental criticisms.
