    I over think things too much, sometimes i go to bed thinking about that particular thing, and when i wake up in the morning i feel nauseous directly does the thought stay in the brain even when i'm sleeping ?.

    • @JohnCordray
      @JohnCordray  Před rokem +8

      Yes, it certainly can. Our brains are still active even when we’re sleeping. Anxiety and overthinking can cause the feeling of nausea when you wake up in the morning.

    My teenage daughter has been going through this the last few months. It affected her so much she couldn't make it through the day at school and had to go virtual for the second semester. She is doing better but does have Episodes from time to time. It's hard seeing your kid go through this. Just praying she will get better with time.

      Hasn't it gotten better for her? I end up missing a lot of school too. I'll feel sick in the morning and end up being too scared to go to school so I'll stay home. It's not just school either like I'll just be doing things and as soon as I sit down or take a break for like 5 minutes it just hits and then I want to go home cause I feel sick to my stomach.

    Wow! I didn't know this was common. I have intermittent nausea but only recently have I connected the dots and realized, I only get nauseous when my heart is racing, with the exclusion of exercise. Specifically when I'm stressed or anxious, I get a gnawing, burning pain in my stomach then I freak out and think I have an ulcer which makes me more anxious and more sick 😅

    I have horrible nausea due to anxiety that has turned into depression. I have lost 25 lbs last 2.5-3 months . Thankfully I was over weight - but I’m not anymore and now I know I need to get this under control . It started when I started my Klonopin taper - and I had to hold while my body adjusts to Zoloft . Depression is a new thing to me but PMDD has exacerbated the situation . Thank you so much for explaining this!

    I had anxiety for year, and I remember getting nauseous because the anxiety would cause me to over drink caffeine...which would make me very nauseous. It could be that some people's anxiety symptoms cause their IBS to flare up or continue with diet habits that are not good for the stomach, such as overstimulating with caffeine and sugar. That's what happened to me. I reduce caffeine intake a lot, and started doing mindfulness meditation, using books like "30 Days to Reduce Anxiety" by Harper Daniels. Oh, and eating a lot more fiber. This helped me

    I should start by saying that I have been suffering from general anxiety and depression for many years and have been on medications for each. Suddenly, in July 2023 I completely lost my appetite and thirst. Had to force myself to take small bites and sips of water and, needless to say, began losing weight. Finally, I checked into the ER of our local hospital because I felt I needed intravenous feeding or I was going to die. While in ER they gave me a CT Scan (which was normal), then another doctor ordered I have an ultrasound of my liver and it was discovered that I have moderate Steatotic (Fatty) Liver Disease. I was admitted to hospital and spent 5 days there. That was a waste of money. They intravenously fed me vitamins, but fed me the usual breakfast, lunch and plates of dinner (but I had no appetite!!) so the plates went back to the kitchen uneaten!! Now that I'm home, I still have no appetite and nausea and losing weight like 5 lbs. a week. Also, with SFLD there are certain foods you're not supposed to eat. All I''m managing to eat are cruciferous veggies like raw broccoli, cauliflower, cucumber, carrots and celery dipped in Ranch Dressing made with yogurt, sour cream and mayonnaise. It's all I can stomach, otherwise I throw up. The only other doctor who was tending to me was a psychiatrist filling my head with psychotic medicines and I ditched him!! I would like to add here that I am not an overweight person so the SFLD has nothing to do with my weight. Must be the occasional fast take-out food I was eating (which I now have to stop), but I have always cooked very healthy at home with no oil but extra virgin olive oil in everything. I'm definitely going to try the ginger tea and lemon water and salt. Thank you, John.

    I’ve had this ever since I was a kid, probably for about 6 years now and I literally cannot live. I’m getting older and in college now and I’ve missed today, one day and already getting threats to be kicked out, but I know whatever I do is the same, so I’m really stuck. I’ve gone through 2 therapists but one didn’t work, and one did not even understand my condition with this. I hope this works

Drs have told me everything is normal in my body and they don’t know why I get these symptoms. I get nausea, vomiting, anxiety, and body tremors/shakes after vomiting. The ondestrone doesn’t help.

    I have had this for years. I have gone to Doctors over and over again with no help. Within the last few years I realized it’s tied directly to my anxiety. One causes the other. It also then causes IBS flare ups so I haven’t left the house much in years. Ginger can be very effective. I’ve lost the entire decade of my 50’s to this. I have done the occasional small trip, but the anticipation anxiety before going on a trip really ramps it all up. I think my lack of exercise is a huge part of my mental and physical issues. I have recently set a goal with my therapist to take walks as often as I can. I am going to strive to meet that goal. I’m glad I’m not alone with this. I used to think I was.

    It's really weird feeling hungry yet a little nauseous at the same time. Does anyone else feel this? And although there's no doubt my anxiety has gotten the better of me too often lately, often the nausea/burning/discomfort in my stomach can be present even though I'm not feeling anxious in that moment? Can anxiety cause these symptoms to last longer than the actual anxious episode(s)?

  • @TheCrystalBoat
    @TheCrystalBoat Před 8 měsíci

    I have always medicated, so it has never lasted more than a few hours at one time because of the medication (There have been times I have been without medication for a few hours or days, and it gets so bad I get suicidal which is why I medicate) but it's an issue I have had for around 8 years now. It is very hard. I have dropped out of education, missed jobs, been suicidal, lost relationships and even developed a phobia of going outside because of this. I have received a lot of therapy, but it persists.

    For me, this anxiety induced nausea triggers when im about to do public speaking. I know my public speaking is amongst family, but because of the negativity I was raised in...I cant help but assume people are thinking negatively of me on stage or something else negative. The negative thoughts take over on autopilot over the positive or optimistic thinking that I'm fully conscious of. I will try the ginger or lemon technique tonight when I go on stage. If anyone has advice or other exercises to eliminate this, I would greatly appreciate it.
