The distance to the front line from Kramatorsk (the population is 170 thousand people), Slavyansk (110k) , Pokrovsk (62k), Mirnograd (48k) and many other settlements is not more than 20-30 km. There is nothing there, no natural barriers as wide rivers, mountains etc., just bare steppe. The Russian military claims one victory after another, advancing in different directions on the Ukrainian fronts. On May 4, Russian servicemen raised the flag of the Russian Federation in the village of Kotlyarovka in the Kupyansk direction in the Kharkiv region. The settlement was captured by servicemen of the Russian 1st Tank Army. Units of the 47th Division broke through several lines of defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine two days ago. According to preliminary reports, Russian forces are completing the mop up operation in the area.
The village of Kotlyarovka is located south of Kislovka, where Russian forces have gained a foothold in the eastern part of the settlement. The battles are already ongoing 23 kilometers from Kharkiv.
The Russian Ministry of Defense is expected to declare the full control of Kotlyarovka in the coming days, after the area of the settlement is secured.
Ukrainian servicemen are fleeing from their military positions under the heavy Russian artillery shelling and massive airstrikes, despite the orders of the Ukrainian military command to fight to the last. Kiev is trying to call its defeats the necessary ‘tactical regrouping of forces’ and ‘taking prepared positions for defense’.
When Chasiv Yar falls, Russian Forces can use this elevated position to hit a string of nearby Ukrainian military cities: Kostyantynivka, Kramatorsk and Sloviansk. They are home to tens of thousands of civilians as well as to many servicemen. The future of Ukraine’s Donbas region seems increasingly bleak.
According to Cherniak (captain in the Ukrainian National Guard), the Russian army adapted after 2022, stepping up drone production. The Russians now have “two or three times” more first-person-view drones, which they fly continually, including at night. That meant supplying frontline positions and rotating troops was harder, he said.
The Russian military has destroyed at least two more American-made M1A1 SA Abrams main battle tanks of Kiev forces while advancing to the northwest of the city of Avdeevka in the Donetsk direction.
Video footage showing the destruction of the first tank surfaced online on May 2. The tank was hidden under trees, still it was detected by the Russian military and targeted with a Lancet loitering munition. The strike set the tank’s engine and fuel tank on fire.
The second tank was destroyed on May 4 while taking part in a failed counterattack. It was reportedly targeted with a Kranspol prison-guided artillery shell. A video showing the tank receiving a direct hit and another showing it on fire were posted to social networks.
A recent report by The Associated Press revealed that Kiev forces withdrew all Abrams tanks from the front recently as the result of the excessive use of drones by the Russian military, which made it too difficult for the tanks to operate without detection or coming under attack.
Nevertheless, it appears that the rapid advance of the Russian military to the northwest of Avdeevka has forced Ukraine to deploy the tanks.
An attempt by Kiev forces to attack the Crimean Peninsula using American-made MGM-140 ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles was foiled by Russian air defenses early on May 4.
It is still unclear what version was the version supplied to Ukraine. The U.S. might have supplied the M39A1 Block I which is armed with a cluster warhead with 300 M74 bomblets but has a range of 300 kilometers, or with the M48 QRU and M57 Block IA Unitary versions which are both armed with WAU-23/B unitary warheads and have a range of 270 and 300 kilometers respectively.
While the initial Ukrainian ATACMS attacks caused some damage, the more recent ones were way less successful. This indicates that the Russian military has begun to adapt to the new threat.
The Kiev regime apparently understands this. Earlier this week, Ivan Stupak, an adviser to the Ukrainian parliament’s national security, defense and intelligence committee, said that Kiev forces have only up to two months before the Russian military adapts to ATACMS.

Unfortunately Russia can’t win. It has too many nuclear power stations on its territory and conventional weapons can turn Russia into a radioactive wasteland.

Commander Paul, you have not only shown yourself to be a remarkable person to your fellow citizens, but equally to those of us around the world who now know what a firefight is and what it takes to be in battle and what it is like to have mortars and artillery shells raining down. They did not and do not intend to go west to the next line of defense of the Ukrainians; they initially planned to turn north to create a southern “arrow” of encirclement of the entire Toretsk group of troops. The attack on Chasov Yar was supposed to be the northern “arrow” of this encirclement, but apparently something went wrong for them and they got stuck there.

@@marktrotter8971 flattening empty villages? Where do you think the soldiers are hiding, and all the equipment? Extremely inaccurate? Mate you are just completely brainwashed. While this whole war is a game of big numbers and pure probabilities, some dumbasses still seem to think of this war as a Hollywood movie, where one side - having complete advantage in equipment and firepower (by the way while having much less troops at any given time in this conflict in Ukraine) but bad and somehow looses loads of men, and the other one (while having constant mobilisation and absolute disadvantage in equipment) is good and heroically fighting the horde. Remind me please, where do you get the info from about the Russian attacks and how they are so costly? Oh yes - the Ukrainian state television.

    • @Warren_Peace
      @Warren_Peace Před měsícem +3

@@marktrotter8971 Except the Russians are not losing, they have been taking "nibbles" off the Ukrainian defense lines and then taking huge bites when the Ukranians broke, the latest examples have been Avdiivka and Orechetyne.
Mediazona, which have been tallying the costs of Russian offensive actions, have shown decreasing number of losses for a year or so, with a slight spike in Avdiivka before going back to its downward trend.
Contrary to the often repeated notion of "Russian meat wave assaults", Russians typically attack using small unit formations of essentially one or two squads (at one point, it was just 3-4 soldiers riding an ATV), supported by armor, to determine enemy positions before calling in fire support. This squads would typically claim one treeline or trench after another in distances of a few hundred meters before stopping and digging in. This would change when they reach a town or a city, where the Russians would start using more armor and air support.
This small scale engagements lowers Russian casualties while maximizing their advantage in artillery and air support. We have hundreds of videos proving this, and the Ukrainians even started using the same tactic after their summer offensive failed.
The proliferation of small detachments fighting small skirmishes have been so common that people start considering a Russian spearhead of 1 tank with 4 APCs as a "major offensive".
Also, no. Russian artillery is as accurate as NATO artillery, since they practically use the same mechanics and targeting system. And the fact that Russians put more emphasis in artillery warfare than NATO, they would certainly be better at it. We watched them hit moving tanks too many times to still keep believing on this talking point.

Why am I seeing videos of Ukrainians retreating on foot and the Russian flag flying over Arkhangelskoye? You’ve been saying the Russians have stalled in the Avdeevaka AO for five months.

Look at the map he shows. He shows at the beginning of the video the map that shows, Russia has Arkhangelskoye. It's in the red zone on the map he shows. Why do you act as if he is hiding it? Nobody says, Russians still are in Avdiivka. They fought for 5 months for Avdiivka, but he literally talks in this video about the russian advancements since then, so what are you complaining about? 🤦‍♂️

Arkhangelskoye, is In the grey zone and two minutes in he thinks the Ukrainian Army is going fall back to it. Arkhangelskoye, has fallen, there are videos of Ukrainians retreating from the town on foot, and a Russian flag being flown over it. This offense has not stalled.

With the exception of drones, the combatants in this conflict are using 20 year old military technology at best. The weapons Paul used in Afghanistan were more far more advanced than anything Russia is bringing to bear. The US military demolished the Iraqi Republican Guard with equivalent weapons technology in 1992.

There needs to be peace talks soon. The truth is Russia is on the front foot and the longer this war is pushed out the more Ukraine suffers. Propaganda does not help Russia’s objective was to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO and that objective has already been achieved as long as they remain at war.

    • @stevebeer3324

There can be no peace for Ukraine until they defeat Russian aggression, as they are fighting for their people on their own land currently being occupied by Russia. Russian television (internal-for-Russian- populace - television) makes very clear the Genocidal intentions of Russia. Under what circumstances would Ukrainians agree to these "peace talks"? And how long do you think it would be before Russia wanted the rest of Ukraine ? See Russian television; ( try Russian Media Monitor by Julia Davis ,who does podcasts of Russian tvs Political commentators) . You will see the Russian public is being spoon fed" the Genocide of Ukraine" (which, according to the political spokesmen on the tele, has No right to exist. Start thinking about what a "peace negotiation with these people would look like.kodywalker 9902. When you have seen what the propaganda looks like on the Russian side you will no longer believe that all Russia wants is an agreement about Ukraine joining Nato. Why would Russia be made more secure by this war which has caused Finland and Sweden to join Nato so hastily? Why do you think they did that? And while you're at it, have a look at the philosophy of Alexander Dugan, ( commonly,if mistakenly , called "Putin's Brain) or the views of Solovyov, Skabeeva, et al. You will be shocked ,I can guarantee it. Pure psychopathic Fascism.
