You were reading my mind. That was my question ....
@@marktoney1987 😁
That’s a good looking bathroom. Love the black and white color scheme.
👊👍
Glad you showed how to attach the copper bath spout pipe. Most videos skip that part.
thanks
Great video! Thank you!
np. thanks
Great video and Loving the shirt! America 🇺🇸
Aww thanks 💯👊
looks good my friend
thank you
Finished project looked great, although I was a bit concerned when I saw the reversed "Hot" (Red) and "Cold" (Blue) Pex tubing. Hopefully hot water will routed through the blue (left) side and cold water through the red (right) side. Also, the ends of the copper tubing should not be sanded if they'll be used with Sharkbite fittings. Copper tubing should be a smooth as possible and the cut ends deburred, inside and outside only. These are things I picked up while doing lots of research for an upcoming bathroom project.
video footage is flipped.
@@gurban333 Nope.
Just trying to finish it early lol
Yeah. Was weird setup in this old house.
Nice video 👌 what is the size of the sharkbite that u using? 1/2 or 3/4?
1/2” thanks
Nice explination, but the hot pipe goes on the left and cold pipe goes on the right.😎👌
Yes, you are correct. I think this case they mixed up so why I did like that.
Nice catch!!! I was wondering the same thing. The Delta shower valves mix with the hot on the left when it comes to trim kit shower controls ??????????
Some of them allow you to rotate the cartridge 180 degrees when a house is piped incorrectly.
would be interesting to show how the 90 degree joints connect to the faucet also
its just a standard join. one end slides into the copper down pipe. and then the other end threaded for the faucet pipe
About to do the same, how’s the water pressure in the shower?
Solid. Nonissues with that. I posted some new videos on how to adjust the delta faucet for hot water etc.
What type of shower valve/model are you using? Thnx
Hi. I have the link in the desc.. it’s this one : Delta MultiChoice Universal Tub and Shower Valve Body Rough-In Kit

Any welding performed not showing here? Especially the ones between bottom copper coupler and water supply copper pipe
Did separate video on That
have you had any leaks so far or any issues?
No leaks. all working perfect. i just dont recommend using outdoor or where pipes can freeze over. as that will crack them.
Hot on right, left on cold?
Thats what i was thinking...
Yup. House had a bad setup. It’s just tube color. Won’t affect anything. 🙃👍
nice work - sharkbite - great safer method!
thanks. agreed
Were the Sharkbite elbows already installed on the valve? Or did you do that yourself?
I had to install those too
Why is your hot pex pipe on the right? Isn’t hot typically on the left and cold on the right?
yes, you are correct. i left comments to correct this in the description. i forgot to show the correct clip. its just wrong color in wrong location :)
Thanx for clarifying and for sharing your video. It was helpful and encouraging to a DIY person looking to do plumbing for the first time.
Something to chew on, I have a home that was built in the 80s and the whole house is plumbed backwards. Right is hot and cold is left. No biggy, just different. Has zero affect on anything other than getting use to it for a couple weeks lol
Agreed
Is this the kit from Home Depot?
Yes. And can find online cheaper at times
Some say not to trust the sharkbite behind a wall?
Yes they do. I had them in my basement behind wall past 10 years. No issues . I think many are talking about outdoors. Definitely not for outdoors if not insulated well from cold. Will freeze and seals will crack. Hope that helps
They are suitable for use inside walls. But diy-ers should always mark the insertion depth on the pipe so you know the Sharkbite is fully seated. Sometimes they feel like they feel like they bottom out but they really aren’t.
and you can hear the shark bites seat in this. before i watched this, i had put some shark bite end caps on, i couldn't pull them off, so I thought they were ON. but no. water went everywhere, my husband pushed them harder and you could hear them seat. They then worked fine. just if it helps anyone.
@@volmom2316 yes you are right. have to push in all the way, hear that click. even if it feel its on because wont come off , might not be as you said. thanks for sharing.
Can someone tell me if this is 1/2 or 3/4 pex
1/2
no deburring?
Yes. With sandpaper.
@@HowToWithLech You don't use sandpaper with sharkbites. The o-ring needs a clean smooth surface, not a roughed up surface. Plus you need the tool to to ream the pipe. Plus ensures proper depth. All right on their site.
🤔 I would probably not use sharks bite to connect copper to pex.
And also from the elbow I would rather use the clamps..
It’s fine. It’s made for it.
@@HowToWithLech
I see.
Don't use sharkbites unless they are accessible. Instead, use pex crimp/expansion or sweat copper. Personally I would never use sharkbites except for a temporary repair. You could spend roughly the same amount for a pex crimp tool and fittings as you are for those sharkbite fittings.
Hi, I am using the pex crimp and I don’t get pressure at all. I was told by a kohler rep that I need to use copper
@@avsarpatel1316 that's because of the fittings and elbows effectively reduce it down to 3/8 instead of 1/2 inch.
So the answer is to either use copper pipe or go with 3/4 inch pipe or go with the higher-quality pex-a stretch-tite pipe and fittings.
👍
I've used sharkbites since they came out. Pretty rare they fail. I've also replumbed homes because of dezincification of metal pex fittings, crimp, and swapped with poly. I trust shark bites. Secret is a little plumbers grease on pipes inserted because failures come from seals that got snagged by pipe going in dry.
Hot and cold are backwards
Yeah. Original al pipes were messed up
Same exact thing happened to my dad when he dud this.
the lines are wrong hot is red and blue is cold
yes correct. forgot to show the corrected setup after. i put comment about it. but at least, its just colors :)
Shark bite is not appropriate for in wall use.
Exactly what it’s made for. Just not on outside facing walls without insulation. And can freeze / crack
