Wad up Jay😊
Dude love the simplicity and *THANK-YOU* for the Alt-drag that is brilliant!!
Haha no problem! Glad it helped!
Wow, very clear short tutorial. Thanks so much!
Glad it was helpful!
This is so awesome! Thank you for showing us this!!
No problem! Thanks for watching!
Such a great tutorial, awesome effects! 😄❤️
Thanks Jellyduck!!
Fun Effect... thanks for putting this together! Enjoying your tutorials/vids!
Thanks William! I appreciate that!
Great Tutorial man! Effects like this are so much fun to try.
Thanks man! They really are!
great as always! cant wait to try it out
Awesome! Thank you so much for watching!
Thank you, I wasn't quite sure how to go about using effects and this video definitely pushes me in the right direction. I would be interested in a video about trust worthy places to get effects. Thanks again!
Effects like these can be found all over for free, but the use is usually limited to personal projects. I'm not sure where to get ones for professional use. Thanks for watching!
Gotta love your stuff bro! You make our lives out here really simple!
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks for watching!
Great work. The moving chair was a nice touch. Thanks for putting the video together!
Thank you so much!!!
⭐️ YOU ARE AWESOME ⭐️
NO YOU ARE!
great video! how do you get this "buy jay lippman merchandise" into your description? thanks
It gets unlocked after 10k subscribers I think. I can't remember when I got it.
Great tutorial, can’t wait to try this.
Thank you so much!!
Jay Lippman you are so welcome.
Great Tutorial. I watched it even though I use Adobe Premiere! Well done.
Thanks! You can actually do this in Premiere as well, and it's basically the same exact process!
Excellent tutorial. Very clear.
Thank you!!
Thank you so much!!
great viedo👌
Thank you!!!
You deserve an Oscar for those acting skills xD Awesome video! Definitely using this in my video edits.
🤣🤣🤣 thanks so much!
Hi Jay, it was fun watching you explain how you did this great Nightcrawler effect! Of course, I'm a complete rookie, but I'm hoping you'd explain why you changed the opacity of the clips? I'm not sure which clips you were changing the opacity of. Thanks again for the tutorials! :)
I change the opacity of the clips that have me in it to reveal the clips that dont have me in it. This gives the impression that I'm fading in and out of the scene. Thanks so much for watching Ted!
Thanks for the tutorial Jay! Your link for the smoke effect leads to someone else's video. Which one is the download link for the smoke effect and sound effect?
The link for the smoke effect is in the description of that video. The sound effect I got from Epidemic sound.
Hey Jay, wassup! Do you have any idea if you need the studio version of 16, to have the hardware acceleration ? I have 15 , I had the free version of 15 too, but only with the studio version I had the acceleration. Keep it up good work!
It's not the acceleration that's different, it's the decoder. DR Free uses your computers build in h264 encoder, which in most cases utilizes the CPU. Studio installs it's own h264 encoder, which takes advantage of the GPU and makes playback a lot faster.
@@JayLippman interesting. Never knew that. Thanks
Your videos are really helpful and easy to follow and I really love how you explain what we can do or how we can expand our creativity. Just a suggestion if you can explain some settings in your video about what it does and why you're using it would make your tutorial to next level. It is from my personal openion as I follow through the tutorial they are nice a easy simple to follow but I have no clue about the settings that I change or what it does in a way I can use it for other stuff. Thanks Jay, love your channel👍
Thank you for the suggestion! I'm actually trying to work on that. I get a bit carried away sometimes lol.
@@JayLippman Thanks Jay. Please continue what you do best, I don't know about others but I am getting hell lot knowledge from you.
Super tutorial. As a beginner, I really appreciate how clear and to-the-point you are. Is there a way to change the color of the smoke?
I think so, but I've never done it.
@@JayLippman OK, thank you for replying.
Simplfied, Humble, Effective
Thank you!!!
@@JayLippman keep doing tutorial bro. Your style of teaching is really intuitive
Dude! This was cool! X-Men yeees! Haha! Also, is that your cane?? 😂😂
Lol no my roommates. He hurt his knee a while back I think. Thanks dude!
Hi Jay.. Thanks for the tutorials. They have really been helping me as a beginner.I have a question for you... I have to sell my desktop PC and buy a laptop as I will be moving around often and need to work on the go. I want to learn how to use Resolve fully but want the hardware that will allow me to do so. Do you think a laptop with a Ryzen 3500u CPU with integrated Vega 8 graphics and 12GB of RAM will be good enough to use resolve, or should I consider paying more for a laptop with a dedicated GPU? Thanks.
For Reaolve you'll want something with a dedicated GPU. Resolve relies on the GPU quite a bit, and I've heard stories of people without a dedicated GPU not being able to install Resolve.
@@JayLippman Thanks man.
No problem!
Anyway u can figure out how to do the end game disappearing and I am going to try this affect
Hahahaha I'm working on that as we speak! Thanks Mark!
Jay Lippman thanks that’s awesome!!!! I’m going to try this out first!
hi i downloaded the shockwave effect from the video link but i cannot load the file into resolve. do i have to convert the file? great tutorial hope to get a reply
No it's just a regular video file. You can drag it in with all your normal footage. Thanks for watching Brian!
@@JayLippman no worries. It wont load into resolve when i drag it onto timeline. I found another shockwave effect. Will send u the link u can post in your decription
this is the shockwave version white cloud. its slower runs at 5 secs. so i increase the clip speed to get it 1 second czcams.com/video/maAXTWyI9e0/video.html
Great content. Can you do a tutorial for the floating away effect?
Idea: Want to go into the middle of a field and float away while being hit by fireballs?
Thanks in advance.
Great suggestion! I'm not a huge VFX guy, but if I can figure it out, I'll make the video!
@@JayLippman I appreciate you replying...this does not happen a lot out in CZcams land. Class act and thanks, I'm looking forward to it.
If it is possible to make a portal video please make a tutorial about it if you can
Ayyy we got the same laptop
IAwesome😊
Thanks man!
quick question bro i hope this reaches you. i really want to start making gaming videos with a webcam of myself. but i dont know a thing about video editing. you know how all the gaming content creators in there videos, in some parts of the video it just crops into there face during a funny moment or something scary? how do you do that? do you know any videos i could watch that could show me how to do that. Does anyone know
You just increase the zoom in the inspector in Davinci Resolve
Jay Lippman is there a video to watch that you know of that explains it?? Because I’m really new to video editing? I’ve searched for hours but can’t find it bro.
Hahahaha love it
Thank you Trini!!
Can we do this in the free version?
That's what I did this in!
Hei. Can you make a video on stretching audio? A 2 min song to auto remix to 4 min. I know how to do that in audition but I'm not aware on how to do it in Davinci. It would be verry helpful. Couldn't find this info anywhere
Unfortunately you cant do that in Resolve. You either have to use Audition or cut the track up yourself.
@@JayLippman Thank you for the answer man. It's better to know it can't do it than to search like crazy at 3 in the morning :))
@@JayLippman Hei man, one more question. I want to buy Davinci Resolve and I saw that one license can work on 2 computers, and I have 2. If I will change my computer, I must buy another license or because one computer is out of the game I can use the same license? (somehow like the adobe licensing where you can use the account on 2 PC's at the same time, but if you want to use it on a third you have to log out one of your computers.).
P.S. Your Tutorials are very helpful :D
@@stefanionut9 I'm pretty sure that you can just switch it over to the new computer, as long as you uninstall it from the old computer.
@@JayLippman Thank you. That's what I've taught as well.
I did this as one of my first videos but didn't have the smoke
Nice! I really like it with the smoke. But I should try it without sometime!
I didn't know how to do the smoke until your video lol. Now I know
Which laptop do you have?
For this video I was using an HP Envy X360. I have since upgraded. I made a whole video about it!
@@JayLippman is it the one with touch screen?
@@JayLippman I am looking gor a laptop which is working good with resolve and I want to ask you if you think the Asus zenbook 14 for 999$ is good for cutting with resolve
i didnt get the smoke effect
Was hoping this was going to be something like creating the smoke effect from scratch.
Still learning how to create smoke. As soon as I get it down, that video will be made!
@@JayLippman . Having gone from After Effects/Premiere (too expensive) I love Resolve for editing, but really want to know how far Fusion can go. So far I've only seen pretty basic stuff. Would really love to see what can be achieved in the program.
@@キラキラくりくり頭 totally understand. I have a glitch effect tutorial that I just released, and I've got some more stuff coming. You can do a lot with Fusion. It's a different workflow than AE, but you can do most, if not all, of the things that you can do in AE with Fusion.
@@JayLippman cool, I'll go check out the glitch effect video.
I always talk like that when I see your videos pop up
😂😂😂 I'm sure you do.
am i the only one who doesnt know how you didnt get caught in spinning the chair? hahaha
my did my inspector just go into hiding? it's gone!!
Uhhhhhh I dont know. Is it still available on the top bar? Should say inspector on the top right.
@@JayLippman not there at all!
@@JayLippman nevermind, it's back. just not in the cut tab (I'm silly)
Darn, I thought I was going to get a compositing and effect tutorial. Not a clip transition tutorial. Oh well.. thanks for the effort anyways.
No problem!
Ps: the effect clip is not for free lol
Lol it was when I downloaded it.
Jay Lippman very lucky!
