Yeah I'm 40 and feel the same. I think a lot of us around similar ages who have been playing games for 30+ years feel like VR is one of the few exciting things left in gaming.
I hope Astrobot makes a return! Rescue Mission and Playroom were amazing!
I played almost everything that came out for vr, mostly pcvr, but Astro Bot is still one of the best VR experiences I ever had.
A new Astrobot is a must!!!

@@MrMisuma Exactly, it would have been a perfect launch title. Astro Bot also used the features of the PSVR1 greatly. If I had to guess Astro Bot 2 is in the making but didn't make it in time for the launch.

I’m so much more hyped for the Psvr2 than I was for the Ps5. Only two weeks from now can’t wait to play GT7, Call of the mountain, Resident Evil Village and No man sky.

I can't wait to jump in. Hopefully Sony has a lot more in store in terms of game development to properly support this platform for years to come. Insomniac used to make fantastic VR games before Spiderman, their talent could be a real asset for making PSVR 2 a big deal.
I hope some of the 100 games in active development for the PS VR2 are AAA games 🥰

The are only handful of games that are for psvr2 I really hope it’s backwards compatible as well for psvr1 games

Even decades. Ive longed for affordable "real" vr in the home since the 70s. I never dreamed Id see it. Seriously, only 20 years ago people would have paid millions for this. Its the closest thing to a holodech yet, with the touch feedback. Feeling water in a game? who would have thought.

Let's hope. I've been hearing that they're not too happy with the preorders. I really think they should have released it around the holidays. That might have helped boost the sales. You'd get buyers picking it up as a quick gift or something. But then there's the price. Yeah, I don't know. I'm looking forward to it. But not many people will be forking over $500+ for a headset when they just had to spend that for the console itself. I hope it picks up. I really want this to succeed

@@aeriagloris4211 Awesome to hear that. I own Quest 1 and Quest 2. Now thinking about Pico 4. Really want to try those better lenses. But this PS VR2 looks super interesting. Also tried PS VR1 and the visual quality was terrible... But thats understandable.
@@Simon-ik1kb The original PSVR was Sony dipping their toes in VR. PSVR2 is Sony diving in. all the things I hoped for and more has been put into PSVR2, and the PS5 was built to compliment PSVR2. This ia on another level over PSVR1, and offers a lot more than headsets like the quest.

if implemented yes. But remember what happened with the PS5 haptic controllers. Was only used within a few titles then all support for it was dropped.haptics without proper implementation is just generic vibration.

Nope, it's inferior to Valve Index, which was released in 2019. No advancements in technologies that matter. But maybe this will make devs create more vr games, so not bad.
@@YeLeaks420 If they make it wireless I don’t think that will be possible unless it will cost a ton of money. That is why the quest pro is over $1000. Its not easy to make something cheap with all that power in that small of a space. Thats why they made the psvr2 wired for the console to give it the power and capability it has.

Im a PSVR gen 1 owner, it was the main reason I purchased a PS4 and then a Pro to use for the Vr. The PSVR2 will end up my reason to buy a PS5 eventually.

Looks promising if the Indie developer library is there as they were to save PSVR1 thankfully. Sony mentions 3D Audio, but again forgets to mention that for those new to VR, both PSVR1 and PSVR2 games will most importantly have stereo 3D visuals for each VR game.

I already have a VR headset and don't own a PS5, but I sorta wanna buy PSVR2 just to support Sony for going all-in on VR!
after I tried the Quest 2 about a year back, I've been enjoying VR a lot.
had been contemplating getting it, and finally decided to go for it.
the immersion features seem like they'll add so much to the whole experience.
besides, Call of the Mountain absolutely helped, Horizon is easily my favourite franchise and getting to experience that in VR sounds amazing
then again no PCVR support, atleast at the moment.

The tech is no leap, its just that PS5 finally has a bit of power for VR like a Mid End PC. The great thing about this is Sony pushing high quality VR content and hopefully AAA titles that have been clearly lacking.

Sony, the future of VR's success is up to you, and solely you. Please, inspire the studios and those around you as you once did to bring out the experiences that we have cherished our entire lives. It's clear that those who designed PSVR2 put more love into it's design then has been put into just about anything these days

I know that most VR games will be FPS, but I would love to see complete VR mode support in TPS games someday (TLOU, Unch.,Ratchet). I like to watch game characters, and gameplay might not be modified (jumps, rolls, etc.)

not really, if they really wanted to make something special they should've made it higher resolution as the PPD is actually lower than the quest 2. Not only that, but this headset is going to use fresnel lenses when pancake lenses are becoming the new standard. The use of fresnel lenses means that the headset won't have edge to edge clarity, it will have far more glare, and it will suffer from a center of gravity further from the user's head making it far less comfortable to wear for long periods of time when compared to something like the Pico 4. I think it's an interesting headset with some neat features, but they should have released it a couple of years ago when it would really have been a great purchase, at this point in time it isn't that impressive.
Eye tracking is something I saw on The Gadget Show.. Maybe 15 years ago? Been waiting for it ever since!
Hopefully Silent Hill Remake will be on VR2. It's gonna be dope

The thoughtfulness of everything from the headset adjustments to the box being able to be used as a storage box makes me happy. I know the launch isn’t as big as Sony probably wanted it to be. (Preorder still isn’t sold out yet) But I know people will come around once it starts getting into peoples hands and reviews start coming out. Hopefully PC support will be in the works in the future. They could make it where you could only activate on PC if you have a PS5. Kinda like how they are able to track activated consoles. I’d even buy an unlock key. What do you think?

All their marketing is focused on games, which is obviously the main thing it will be doing, but I also enjoy passive media experiences in VR (e.g. watching movies in a virtual private home theatre or exploring 3D photos of fascinating places in VR) so I hope the headset will be able to offer experiences like that as well, and I’d love to see them shine a light on that in their marketing and promotional material. I guess it would also make sense because it can show VR as something appealing to try even for people who aren’t massive gamers.
As of now, 3d blue-ray is not supported, you can certainly watch 3d content on yt with this headset, I’m not sure if there is anything else, for now. Maybe someone else knows

And I like atmospheric experiences without gameplay. For instance, I boot up Skyrim VR sometimes just to go horseback riding in VR. They should have more content like that, IMO.
