The Ballad of Lester Moore | Legends of the American West

- Here lies… a long overdue episode of Legends of the American West. This installment might be the truest to the name of the series as we cover the United States’ most recognizable epitaph belonging to none other, Lester Moore. The story today will consist of going over the history of the headstone, a story just crazy enough to come out of the Wild West, and the validity of the tale itself. But nonetheless, isn’t all the Wild West just that? A tall tale of stories old?

Interesting backstory and additional info. I had not heard that Lester Moore could not be confirmed to have existed. It is amazing the complexity of the actual truth in these stories from only 150 years ago. Makes me wonder about the detailed accounts from Roman times, some have so much detail and I'm thinking how would they know.
I agree! It’s truly amazing how much we know, yet know so little about the past. I for one thought that he was just another resident of Tombstone that happened to have a funny epitaph. Then I came to find that it was most likely a publicity stunt to get people to Boothill. I give those scholarly historians a lot of credit. They dedicate their lives to get the facts straight. Pretty incredible! And thanks for stopping by Tuco!
I dearly love your content. I’m glad a younger generation loves the old west. Thank you sir for all your work.
I appreciate it, Reed! Thank you kindly, and the best compliment that I can receive is hearing that you enjoy the videos!
Great info!

Here lies Butch
They buried him raw
He was quick on the trigger
But slow on the draw
@@SaintAndrewTV I love that one!
@ArizonaGhostriders I knew you would!
Great video andrew, I Cant Wait For The Shoulder Toss Gun Trick.
Thank you friend! And yes, that one is in the works!
Well done Andrew!👍
Being a history buff, especially of the American west, and your research always presented in genuine fashion, I thank you for taking the time for our education.
I'm sitting outside here in E. Texas, awaiting the fabled Eclipse. Dark, heavy clouds above. A big "nothing burger", I think. It's supposed to get dark soon. If so, I'm going to light up my woods with a 45 Colt! What better way to say "Whoopity Do!"!😂
I’m noticing that I having an error through CZcams studio, so I’m not sure if you’re seeing what I responded with! I can’t see my response, but hopefully you do!
Thank you, Wade! I’m glad the information that I gather med was received well!
And I’m little jealous on both counts! Here in an Arizona, we will not get the shadow portion of the eclipse! Unfortunate! But I also can’t get up and play with the Colt today either! Load up a few more today for your old pal! I definitely would want to be doing that!
@@SaintAndrewTV Well old amigo, it got dark. And true to form, I lit up my woods with a brace of 45 Colts. My neighbors across the road freaked out! I could hear them yapping and such. That was fun! And that second 45 was indeed for you. I was blasting beer cans all over the place!😄
Then in a few minutes, it got light again, and it was over. But those 40gr black powder loads were something to behold! Big balls of fire, and echoed like artillery! It was better than the Eclipse.
Take care partner, and I'll be looking forward to your next installment of St. Andrew TV!🫡
@@anangryranger thank you my friend! Until Monday! Be safe!
I had heard boot hill in the movie Toomstone 🎬 was Konx,s berry farm
Oh I have been there! An interesting place for sure. If your that way stop by and see the Rattlesnake man - John and Sandy Weber - outdoor museum.
I want to say I have, but long ago when I visited Arizona and didn’t live here! Haha!
Puts a new spin on the term Special Delivery 😂
No kidding! Stamped as “express”!
@@SaintAndrewTV and underlined " Fragile" 😂
Come and listen to my story about a man named Saint
He spins and twirls those guns so fast
It would make some others faint
He flips it and he spins it
Till his fingers red and sore
But if it falls, he's got pillows on the floor.
Always empty your gun first, if you really know the score
Cos if you don't you could be gone for evermore.
Twisting and a turning his gun is flying through the air
He looks so confident as if he really doesn't care.
Then catching it a final time he gives it a quick spin
Then down his side to his holster and slides that gun right in.
Western Style, sling that gun.
You know its gonna be such fun.
Have Gun Will Twirl 😂
That’s awesome! I might take this one and print it out in a nice format! Hang it up on the wall of the set! I love it!
😂 Thanks Saint, glad you like it.
Fantastic!
