The whole archaic programming language works. My grandpa had an a book on old email systems from the 90s when he died. I read it as a joke, and saw it on a job posting for a fairly major contractor. When I did the interview, the guy was in his 90s and halfway through started teaching me where I was wrong, so I started taking notes. Dude loved it, said i was going to have to be taught anyway and offered me the job. I went from 4 figures a year to six at like 22. Only reason i quit was they sold the company snd decided I was also to do basic helpdesk. No.
yep, selling the company is a good way to get a lot of the people either laid off or quitting. corporate always thinks they know what is best so they will permanently lay off people in an attempt to "streamline" and "minimize costs", making everyone else do more work than they're paid for.

which really doesn't work that well, in my experience. I've taken both adderall and ritalin in my life and both of them seem to lose most of their effects with even small amounts of alcohol, like even just half a beer. Then again, it could be because I take a normal dose of only 60mg, when idiots who buy it illegally tend to take several hundred (though it takes like over 1,000mg to be at risk of overdose), and that I actually have ADHD.
Also, Whiskey and Ritalin is a pretty good song by Fair to Midland (even if the first few seconds are a little chaotic, before the guitar riff takes over), named after the two main substances the guy was on while writing the album.
Fun sidenote on the radscorpions? There was apparently a smart one in Fallout 2, that could beat humans at chess. Having some smart enough to work a radio station as bait wouldn't actually be that out there.
Yeah, there was an unmarked quest to beat it at three rounds of chess. The same mad scientist also made a talking Spore Plant called Seymour, because Fallout 2 is basically one huge 90's reference
At least your Halloween mod actually worked. My radio signal refused to function and I had to look up where to go, and I can’t even get into the church for the Tesla Cannon quest because there’s an invisible floor I can’t get through.

Mike and Zach talking about companies using archaic software reminds me of the job postings the german national railway company (Deutsche Bahn) sent out earlier this year where they were looking for programmers fluent in Windows 3.1 (which released in 1992, so 32 years ago!!) because their high speed ICE trains still run on that program.
That is both somehow impressive and terrifying at the same time

In an emergency, morse code can be used via flashlight, likely best by covering the front with your palm, rather than trying to rapidly switch it on and off. Good for flashing out an SOS from a hill or to a rescue/search helicopter
I wish I could find a flashlight or headlamp that just goes on and off. I don't need 7 different brightness settings and a strobe function. Some of them come with an SOS feature which is cool but all I need it to do is work which means turn on when I press the button and off when I press it again.
Fallout Trivia: Red Rocket isn't a fuel station, for nuclear fuel either. They sold reactor coolant.

Actually, the Hellfire Power Armor is entirely Post-War as it is an upgrade on the X-02 or Black Devil power armor. The X-02 is also entirely post-war upgrading on the design of the X-01, however mass production made them weaker but more widely available. The X-01 set of power armor was originally thought to have been Post-War, however the presence of the Quantum X-01 set sealed in the Galactic Zone of Nuka-World proves this cannot be the case.
Tl;Dr, the Hellfire, X-02, Ultracite and Raider Power Armors are the only Post-War sets.

Fun fact about the Voyager stuff! JPL made manuals and backups here on Earth so that if something happened on the probes, they could run through the numbers back here. That, combined with them still having access to some of the original team, have allowed the Voyager probes to survive longer and farther than any other piece of technology we've ever made!

I remember the old Cartoon Network "Christmas in July" block. I also remember avoiding the crap out of CN during July and December in the late 90's/early 00s because of it. I blew up a balloon about a decade ago and I put it in a box. That balloon is still filled with air to this day. So it's not impossible for the balloons to still be filled. Maybe helium works different than carbon-dioxide but I don't know. My experiment didn't involve helium.

The one thing I can think of for a practical use for morse code is emergency situations. SOS is simple enough to remember. But then I've always had this, not really fear, but slight expectation that I may be in a situation where I'd need to be able to send morse code as my only means of communication. Why did I start thinking this? Because of the first Michael Bay Transformers movie where they use morse code to alert the military.
That first movie was dumb, but it was fun. I like it. I actually saw it twice in theaters as a kid. I wanted to see it again so bad.
There are actually still around 17 million telegraphs sent annually.

Everyday practical use for morse code probably doesn't exist but for example Finnish recon units still learn morse code to be used as a fail-safe in delivering messages over radio if their more hi-tech equipment becomes unusable.

you should see some of the tech we use to run equipment in industrial settings. half of the control room where i work is cold war tech. and i work at a place that made almost a trillion dollars in a year a few years ago.
Ill be honest, i play fallout 4 on ps5 currently. And despite the lack of mods and how many mods break each other i had fun going back to this game. I cant wait to get a pc to properly mod it though
