I'm willing to bet that 90% of the comments on here are people who have never picked up a pair of drum sticks before, and the other 10% are drummers that are already extremely good but are arrogant pricks. Playing a song that's already been written is considerably easier than writing your own song. This song isn't big on technical skill, but the speed is absolutely ridiculous and requires quite a bit of endurance to actually be able to play the whole thing while still being able to move your arms and legs afterwards.
I agree. Its the same with the guitar. The guitar parts are piss easy at 60% speed. But when you speed it up, Its a real test of dexterity. Actually writing the parts is unthinkable for me. As you say, playing isnt the same as writing.
Dave Mackintosh's drumming is far harder than typical thrash metal drumming. Plus a lot of thrash bands don't play 200bpm.. its usually a little bit slower. Dave plays 16th notes on the hi hat throughout every song pretty much which is more than i can say for a lot of other thrash metal drummers. He's a machine :P
Whenever I listen to individual parts of a song that I think is fast, it sounds much less impressive. Yes this beat is not the easiest in the world, but it is not impossible.

if this is the drum track, there must be two different versions of the song. Right off the bat it misses the cymbal roll before the 2nd choke, not to mention the cymbal fills are much quieter on this one.
That 'cymbal roll' everyone hears in the song itself is a synth echo, a very common sound effect that dates as far back as the early 1980's, though back then it was primarily used in video games and in films.
it's cool, but it's called double-bass... get over it... Slayer, for example; Dave Lombardo can drum like this... Anthrax; Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan can drum like this... no different than ordinary, really...

It's a solid, steady, hardcore beat. Nothing to complain about unless you like nitpicking and being under the crosshairs of my BFG-9000. lol
