I *may*, in the future, isolate and upload that solo (if I'm generous, I'll upload some slower versions too) for the benefit of any poor fucks like me who may be attempting to emulate this solo or, even more courageously, write it out in sheet music. If that should come to pass, I'll add a link to the video (or playlist) to this comment. P.S., I'll be especially inclined to upload the isolated solo if I receive responses in favour of me doing so.

First off you have to realize that the rev has some of the best skins on his drums, both the face and the resident side. To make it short and sweet you have to tune both sides incredibly tight, to get that high pitch ping that you hear. It wouldn't hurt to tighten the snares as well.
Just tune both sides super high. And have a really thick and strong head on the batter side (Remo Emperor X is what The Rev used here, or an Evans Heavyweight) + Reso side (Remo Emperor Hazy or Evans Snare Side 500). Or if you have one, use a piccolo snare to make it easier to get a higher tuning. It's really not that hard.
Don't take this as negative the dude is a beast... what I like is that it does have it's imperfections. And It's raw. Which I like. So beast YES. Beat ever? Nowhere close. BUT.... he had an undeniable instinct for composition; when to play when to lay back etc
