5he problem is the material the bucket is made of. Every cement tells you on the label that it won't work on polyethylene as it is one of the slippery/non-stick plastics. That would also apply to this product.

"YES" It can stop leaks, Depending on the water pressure.
You can't expect it to stop a leak with 5 gallons/18 Liters pushing down on it. I don't believe the commercial was misleading. Just use it in a more logical, real life scenario, way. No paste is stopping 5 gallons obviously. Not to mention the Cut in the commercial isn't low on the bucket, so theres no weight pushing down on it (and the commercial bucket is wider, distributing the water weight more). The cut in this video is at the very bottom, meaning all the weight of the water is pushing down on it.

The average wooden barrel is 59 gallons. The commercial shows one cut in half (29.9 gallons) and stopping a leak no problem. So if it can do that, 5 gallons should be child's play.

Finn doesn’t matter, amount of pressure is determined by depth. The commercial looked higher, so less pressure, meaning it would hold. They prob used the barrel to make it seem like there was a lot of water and a lot of pressure, but they cut fairly high, so pressure was lower.

The reason it worked in the commercial is because the barrel he had, he made the hole right below the water surface. in Tyler's bucket, the hole is a lot deeper in the water and so has a lot more pressure. This is why it worked for him at first, then stopped working as the bucket was full.

  • @dukeman7595

In all fairness to Tyler and Flex seal let us consider the bucket Tyler is using as compared to the wood barrel Flex seal uses on the commercial. Tyler's bucket is made of slippery plastic, the barrel is made of wood, big difference; the wood will seal because it will allow adhesion, where as the smooth plastic bucket will not. I call this experiment ambiguous and unfair, therefore it is to be ignored.

You should try from the inside, like does it work in water when the pressure is different

Try covering the whole with a piece of plastic and using the flex paste to attach them together

Maybe compare it to different types of caulking (clear, unclear, specialist etc) but take it out of the tube for the sake of fairness and apply as you would the Flexpaste on buckets (one for each kind) with the exact same holes/cuts but yea someone definitely needs to get you a Home Depot sponsorship.

The commercial made it look soo easy. Even putting it into a fish tank and sealing a hole. Should have tried sticking it into the water and sealing through the inside. Maybe the pressure will push the flex paste through and seal it more

Cam you apply it on the inside of the bucket? The pressure of the water would push the flex paste into the slit then?

Pressing and holding for a few seconds helped a lot though

So had it dried and cured would it have been effective? Considering using this for my current shuttle bus conversion window leak issue!

Tyler, where do you be getting your tools from?
